Starter Strip - Square Stitch

A  Starter Strip can be used to make starting Square Stitch projects easier. Once the  Starter Strip is
made it can be used over and over. The example is for a short  Starter Strip Create yours as long as you
.
desire. Color separations make counting easier.
Use this side when project uses predominately Light colors.

Use this side when project uses predominately Dark colors.
Using the Starter Strip for a Project , size = 24 beads (12 for each 1/2 row).
WASTE thread: one that be will removed. When removed, the project separates from the  Starter Strip
.
I suggest using  Power Pro 6 to 10 lb for the waste thread, It is harder to pierce. Or use a thicker thread
like  D Nymo. When creating large projects used multiple WASTE threads (so they can be pulled out).
While weaving additional rows to this row take care NOT to pierce the WASTE thread. Piercing the WASTE
thread will make it nearly impossible to separate the project piece from the STARTER STRIP.
Pattern Row 1a= 12 beads Row 1b = 12 beads
These beads are part of your project, watch pattern for correct color placement.
Row 1a: Red thread path = WASTE thread. Add the 12 beads (one at a time, working left to right) and then
exit  starter strip as indicated. Add Stop Bead. This Waste thread continues on to complete Row 1b.

With a NEW thread Start the next row of beadwork using the Square Stitch Technique.
After 6 to 8 rows have been added, pull out the WASTE thread.
