Flexor Hallucis Longus

Patient position:
Supine or sitting, with the
metatarsophalangeal joints stabilized in the
neutral position and the ankle joint midway
between dorsiflexion and plantarflexion. Flex
the interphalangeal joint of the great toe.
Examiner pressure:
Against the plantar surface of the distal
phalange in the direction of extension.
