Patient position:
Sitting or supine with the wrist stabilized by
the examiner in the neutral position. Extend
the metacarpophalangeal joint.
Examiner pressure:
Against the dorsal surface of the proximal
phalange in the direction of flexion (in the
plane of the palm).
