Sax Setup Wizard
Sax Setup Wizard v. 2.0 is the latest word in installation tools for Windows developers. No longer are you forced to choose between an overly simple setup tool that restricts your choices or a complicated power setup that requires you to write another program to install the one you've just completed.

Using visual programming techniques, Sax Setup Wizard helps you to create an impressive setup in a matter of minutes. No trade-offs, no programming, no scripting language to learn, and no royalties to pay.

Sax Setup Wizard gives your setup the Windows 95 look and feel but allows you to write 16-bit or 32-bit install programs that install on machines running Windows 3.1, Windows NT, or any other Windows-compatible platform. Users don't need to specify the type of operating system they have, because the Setup Wizard detects it automatically.

The Wizard takes care of all aspects of installation: It updates the registry, compiles the components your project needs, compresses the files, and writes them to the disk format of your choice.

Step by step, the Wizard leads you through the creation of your application's installation routine. When you start the Wizard, it prompts you to run your application, exposing all possible menus, dialogs, and options to the Wizard's watchful eye. When you close your application, you're shown an editable list of all the components your project requires.

The Setup Wizard even registers all OCX controls for you automatically.

Sax Setup Wizard simplifies the process of tailoring your installation. It lets you launch external programs and DLLs, show users billboards, choose the background color (with shading), display readme files and progress bars, make changes to INI files and to the registry, and include icons and shortcuts for your application.

Give users the option of installing a complete, typical, or minimal instance of your programand, if you need to, make finer distinctions within those groups.

To ensure a foolproof installation, the Setup Wizard offers variables that you can use in your setup. These variables include install, system, boot, and temp. During installation, the Wizard replaces these generic terms with whatever name the user's system has for that directory or filename.

Sax Setup Wizard is careful not to disable other programs when it installs yours. You can instruct the Wizard, on a file-by-file basis, to always overwrite, never overwrite, or to overwrite only if the file's date or version information indicates that it is more recent. This choice can also be left to the user's discretion.

Sax Setup Wizard includes a full-featured uninstall option and high-performance data-compression. If you'd like a specific file to remain uncompressed, you simply tell the Wizard. Large files are automatically split across multiple disks as needed.

Format options include CD-ROMs and single executable files for easy e-mail or network distribution.

Sax Setup Wizard includes everything you need to earn Microsoft's "Designed for Windows 95" certification for your application.

Give your program the introduction it deservesget Sax Setup Wizard to help you create a complete, considerate installation.
