CUTTING ANO COVERING THE CAKE

ITnm the crust from the cake and slice the top (lat where the cake has risen Cut off the top edge aii the way round. cutting down and out to the base of the cake to make a comcal shape. Keep the cut pieces quite large. turn them upside down and arrange them on the top of the cake to make the pile shape

2Sandwich the cake pieces orno the top of the cake with buttercream. then spread a thin layer of buttercream over the surface of the cake to help the sugarpaste (roiied fondar.t) stick Position the cake on the cake board

3Coiour 875g (1 'Alb) of the sugarpaste bnght green Put asicfe 30g (*oz). then roli out the remamder and use it to cover the cake and cake board completely. Smooth arcund the shape. stretching out any pleats. and trim excess from around the edge of the cake board Reserve the tnmmings for later.

Once you havc trimmad and cut tho cake sides. pile cut pieces on top.

MAKING THE CARROTS

4Cok>ur the remaining sugarpaste crange. Model different-SiZed carrots by rolling them mto long. teardrop shapes Press mto the fuli end of each with a bali or bonę tool and mark lines by rolling a knife across the surface. Posiiion each carrot as soon as it ts madę. covering around the base of the cake firsl and then buildmg up around the sides to the top. leave a smali gap at the top of the cake for Bugs Bunny to slot into.

Position the carrots by working around the base first, buildmg up around the sides and then coyoring tho top.
