BOW WITH ADDED CENTER

Two Sizes

Approximate finished diameters • 5" and 9" Refer to General Information and Instructions on pages 3-4.

Choose ribbon width according to size of finished bow dosired.

1¹/2 yards No. 9 ribbon = approx. dia. 5^:' 2Va yards No. 40 ribbon = approx. dia. 9" Tie wire

Instructions are written for No. 9 ribbon. Any changes for No. 40 ribbon aro in ( >.

Cut Vz (Va) yard ribbon and set aside for added center.

Using long tength of ribbon. measure 11V?” (21V/") and form a circle. Hołd circle with thumb and finger and continue circling around. The ends v.'ill ovorlap about 1 Vt".

Flatten the circles by bringing the overlap-ped ribbon to center of other side.

Cut a narrow “V" notch in the center of each side of ribbon. DO NOT cut all the way through.

Secure tightly at notch by placing tie wire under your thumb with one end extending approximately 2" beyond thumb. Bring wire to back of loop. Hołd tie wire tightly and twist loop to secure.

Separate the loops by pulling the inner loop out to one side and the next inner loop out to the other side.

Repeat with remaining loops.

OPTION A: Fold the remaining short length of ribbon in half with right side out. 1" from fold. gather and wrap ribbon tightly with wire. Fluff out loop into a circle. Twist ribbon so that taifs have right sides facing

Attach to front center of bow by wrapping wire at the same place as first wrap. Cut tails as desirnd.

OPTION B: Center the remaining short length of ribbon around center notches. Tie knot at back of bow adjusting tails to an equal length. Twist tails so right sides are tacing you. Cut tails as desired.

1 yard No. 5 ribbon and ^V^ yards No. 9 ribbon = approx. diameter 5"

2 yards No. 9 ribbon and 2V* yards No. 40 ribbon = approx. diameter 9"

Tie wire

Instructions are written for No. 9 ribbon Any changes for No. 40 ribbon are in ( ). Cut '/a (^z/3> yard off of each of the 2 ribbon widths to use for tails.
