Hewlett-Packard (HP) is experimenting with letting people attend events the company is parńcipating at without leaying their offices or ho mes. At this years UniForum trade show HP took advantage of RealAudio techrtology and rebroadcast their president/CEO Lew Platfs keynote address for those not fortunate enough to attend the show.

"Over 8,000 people logged on and listened to parts or all of the address. Of that 8,000 about 30% were HP employees," said Wannetta Newberry-Meyer, HP‘s Computer Systems Organi2ation Web Infrastruture Manager. In a company as large as HP, over 85,000 employees worldwide, it's hard to give everyone access to the president. The Internet and WWW have opened new morę timely methods for HP to communicate to their own employees as well as customers. Included in the information on HP's World Wide Web computing site is an area dedicated to events and trade shows.
