The leather straps are double-thickness, and at least one of them was decorated with a red-painted stripe (marked with dotted lines); there was probably no binding at the edges, because the nails clearly pass over the stitch-holes (contrast Fig. 127). The fastening was effected simply with an iron nail. Scalę 1:3.
