PICTURE HAT

MATERIALS: 25 gr of DMC Special Cordonnet (Art. 151) no. 20 crochet cot-toi^white. A Steel crochet hook size 0.75 mm (no. 5); 100 cm of orange satin ribbon 1.5 cm wide; a smali posy of orange artifi-cial flowers.

METHOD: Rnd 1: Form lp with end of thread and into it work 4 times as follows: *2 tr tog (3 ch count as first tr of a rnd), 6 ch*, close with a sl st in top of initial ch-3 and work another sl st in next tr. Rnds 2-5: Follow the chart. Close Rnds 2-4 each with a sl st over the first dc and close Rnd 5 with a sl st in the 5^,h of 5 ch sts replacing the first triple tr of rnd. Rnd 6: Pick up 84 tr in this rnd: work 3 ch (to count as first tr), 9 tr in next lp, 11 tr in next 2 lps, 9 tr in foli lp, 1 tr over tr tr, 11 tr in foli lp, 10 tr in the next 2 lps, and 11 tr in the last lp, close with a sl

Rnd 7: 1 ch and, beg in same st as sl st closing previous rnd, work *1 dc, 5 ch, skip 2 sts*, replace the last 3 ch sts with a treble over the first dc. Rnds 8-18: Follow the chart. Close Rnds 8-16 each with a treble over the treble closing the preceding md and, at the end of Rnd 16, work for-ward with sl sts as far as lp of first shell. Rnds 19-28: In Rnd 19 pick up 44 lps of 4 and 5 ch sts, skipping 2 or 3 sts, close as for Rnd 2 and work 2 morę sl sts in first lp. Close Rnd 20 with a sl st in the 4^th of 4 ch sts replacing the first dbl tr and work another sl st in the first lp. In Rnd 21 replace the last 2 ch sts with a half tr over the first puff st formed of 4 half tr. Close the other rnds as before and, at the completion of Rnd 28, fasten off. Thread the ribbon through the lps of Rnd 17 and attach the flowers as shown in the sketch.
