This book is an English version of the doctoral dissertation entitled “The organization of sacred space among Western Slavs in the earlier medieval period before the introduction of Christianity,” written under the supervi-sion of Professor Stanisław Tabaczyński and defended in 1990 at the Insti-tute of the History of Materiał Culture (now the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology) of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
