Power Generation with Dual Pressure Systems

The advantages of utilising waste heat recovery at sea for power generation can be further enhanced by the inclusion of a dual pressure steam arrangement (fig. 5 and 6). Approximately 10% morę steam can be produced with such an arrangement from the same operating conditions.

The inclusion of a lower pressure evaporation section with a subsequent lower saturation temperaturę enables morę heat to be extracted resulting in a lower gas exit temperaturę than obtainable from a single pressure system.

The higher pressure steam is utilised for power generation with the lower pressure/temperature steam going to fuel heating and domestic steam services.
