(*) The retaining tool in kit STW 10351 has a 45 mm long fiat section at the end which enables it to be passed between the aperture frame and the glass.
In the case of the X53» thls fiat section is not long enough to reach the bead of mastic either for removing the windscreen or the rear screen.
Stahlwllle currently market a modified tool whioh 13 part of the kit with the same assembly rmmber. This tool replaces the earlier one.
If your kit is of the old type, the tool can be modified locally accordlng to the diagram beIow.
A Two original drillings to be moved as shown In the drawlng B Part to be ground
C Drill to 2 mm diameter along the tool centreline
D Drill to 2.5 mm diameter along the linę perpendlcular to the 2 mm diameter hole until the bit goe3 into thia hole. Tap to M3X50.
E Blank off the remaining hole with a MIG spot weld.
