Skill: Creating Graphs from Data

Materials: pets (page 237); graph (page 238); number helping page (page 239); one die; tape; pencils or crayons

Teacher Preparation: Reproduce a pet page and graph for each student.

Pet ParadÄ™

Student Directions

1.    Choose a pet page and graph.

2.    Choose an animal on the pet page and roli the die. Circle the square at the bottom of the box that the pet is in that matches your die.

3.    Count the dots and write the number in the blank next to the animal. Use the helping page if necessary.

4.    Find the animal on the graph and place the same number of X’s above the animal.

5. Choose another animal and repeat the process until the pet page and graph are complete.
