Image Transformation Operations

AIM: Write a program to perform Image Enhancement Operations

•    Power law transformation

•    Log transformation

•    Anti-log transformation

Transformation is a function. A function that maps one set to another set after performing some operations.

Enhancing an image provides better contrast and a morę detailed image as compared to non-enhanced image. Image enhancement has many applications. It is used to enhance medical images. images captured in remote sensing. images from satellite etc. The transformation function has been given below

where ris the pixels of the input image and s is the pixels of the output image. T is a transformation function that maps each value of r to each value of s. Image enhancement can be done thiough gray level transformations.

There are three basie gray level transformation.

1.    Linear

2.    Logarithmic

3.    Power - law
