Issues of Container Handling Modeling in the Aspect of Generating the Corrosion and Mechanical Wear

Abstract. In this articlc indicatcd the necd to inelude additional hoisting and lowcring phases of containers in the ship’s hołd betwccn celi guides. This ncccssity comcs from literaturę studies and long years obscrvations of real Container handling processes in scaports. This gavc the basis to discussions on the ncccssity of introducing models in additional phasc dcscribing the processes of Container handling, what will havc the impact on much morę prcciscly way to dcscribe a real objcct. In addition, this paper presents issues conceming the identification of hoisting and lowcring processes on the base of handling of containers into the ship’s hołd from the point of view of corrclation hoisting speed in relation to the security of the hołd, crane and cargo placcd iaside the Container.

Introduction

Issues related to the handling proccss modeling arc accompanicd by many factors in random character. Howcvcr, proper identification of the actual objcct allows properly take them into account in the model. As a rcsult, literaturę studies, preliminary analysis and obscrvations of actual handling processes creatcd the nced to cxpand research on the impact of the factors taken into account in the model that truły and accuratcly will imitatc rcality. This articlc indicatcs the nced to inelude additional hoisting and lowcring phases in a containcrship’s hołd cquippcd with celi guides. This issuc was taken into the account by Szyszko M. in [14, 15J, but in this articlc this problem has been dcscribcd much morę wider and this articlc presents the rcsults of research in much broader terms relate to the issues cxamincd as a rcsult of further studies and obscrvation of real handling processes. In this articlc emphasis is placcd on the processes of wear in relation to the in Container crane productivity [5, 14].

Issues of presented in this paper mainly focuscs on the identification proccss of hoisting and lowcring the Container into the hołd from the point of vicw such relations:

-    the Container - containcrship\s hołd, cspccially celi guides,

-    the Container - Container crane,

-    the Container - cargocs iaside the Container,

and it’s possibility to generation of corrosivc and mechanical wear processes.

Research problem

The research discasscd in the articlc arc on the issuc to introducing the additional phasc in the modeling of hoisting and lowcring the Container was carricd out in the following sta ges:

-    the research of the State of art on the base of literaturę studies conccming modclling of Container handling processes,

-    the research of the a*al objcct on the base of obscrvations of Container handling in scaports, with particular emphasis processes of hoisting and lowcring containers into the hołd of a Container ship cquippcd with celi guides,
