Summary
The dissertation is devoted to radio-fibre systems in which optical fibres are used to dis-tribute the signals of wireless standards e.g. inside a building. The construction of such Systems allows to take advantage of wired fibre-optic Communications while maintaining the benefits of wireless transmission, such as flexibility and the ability of rapid development and modification of the network structure.
In the dissertation the basie parameters of wired radio-fibre signal transmission in the point to point architecture are discussed. The implementation of optoelectronic transmitter and re-ceiver, based on the commercially available laser diodes and photodiodes, is proposed. Radio-fibre link parameters, based on proposed elements, have been examined in a series of measurements. The results confirm the possibility of transmission signals of wireless standards through radio-fibre links.
A large part of the thesis focuses on the problem of „photonic antenna” realization, in which the microwave radiators are connected to the optoelectronic components. Unidirec-tional and bidirectional antennas of this type are presented. The results of ąuality of signal and throughput measurements for radio-fibre links with „photonic antennas” are discussed.
