1 I have to do a few jobs! When I was
younger I didn’t have to do much. I had to
make my bed and tidy my bedroom. Sometimes
I had to help my mum and dad lay the table.
Now I have to do a LOT more! I have to empty
the dishwasher and do the vacuuming. It’s very
boring – but I want to help my mum because
she does all the cooking!
Daisy, 15, Quebec, Canada.
2 It isn’t true that teenagers are lazy. My
school days are really busy. I get up at 6.30 a.m.
and make my bed. I have to lay the table for
breakfast. Luckily I don’t have to make breakfast
– my mum does that. My sister usually makes the
coffee. I have to do the washing-up. Then my
sister and I have to make sandwiches for lunch.
When I get to school, I feel tired!
Anna, 16, Manchester, UK
3 I do lots of jobs at home because my
mum is in a wheelchair. I like helping her but
sometimes I get very tired. I have to make my
bed, do the vacuuming and empty the dishwasher.
Luckily my older brother does lots of jobs, too.
He usually has to take the rubbish out and do the
shopping. We both have to clean and iron. My
brother says it’s relaxing!
Eliza, 14, Edinburgh, Scotland
