Thread locks 

 

1. Screw locking 

 
 
Loctite 243 general-purpose adhesive is used to lock screws, with the following 
exceptions: 

 

a.  Stud bolt metal ends, Loctite 270 or 2701. 
b.  Adjusting screws, Loctite 222. 
c.  The screws of the outer ring of the slewing ring are leaved without locking 

adhesive. 

d.  The lower assembly’s and slewing assembly’s cap nuts are locked with wire by 

welding. 

 

2.  Locking plugs and hydraulic couplings 
 

Thread size R ¾” or smaller Loctite 542 
Thread size R 1” or larger Loctite 577 

 

 

3.  Mechanical angle indicators 
 

Lock the dial and scale screws with Loctite 542 
 

4. Proximity sensors 
 

Lock the threads with Loctite 542 

 

Flange sealants 

 

Loctite 5923, Permatex Aviation From-A-Gasket No.3 Sealant or Perfect seal is 
used as flange sealant.
