Describe a relatively simple method to check the quality (in terms of replicability) of

visual image interpretation.

Answer

A way of checking the Geometric quality of visual interpretation can be to quan-
tify the variation of the interpretation result. Higher variation indicates lower
accuracy of interpretation results. In the example of figure 10.8 and 10.9, we
overlay all interpretations and conclude based on Replicability about the accu-
racy. In case there is only one interpreter, some ground truth is needed to verify
the result.

By Thematic quality assessment of visual image interpretation, we compare

interpretation results (object classes and identification) with ground truth sam-
ples, which were collected in the field in advance.
