Confirmation Testing
Patient position: supine. Observe for
tightness of the pectoralis minor by
examining the height of the shoulder from the
patient’s head. The shoulders should lie flat
against the table. Ask the patient to forward
thrust (protract) the shoulder with the arm
relaxed at the side. Do not allow the patient
to exert a downward force on the hand to
force the shoulder forward.
