EasyRestore 4.00 Product Specifications
Overview
EasyRestore is a software development kit that provides a specialized interface to a
predefined subset of Drive Image Pro 4.0 functions – specifically the restore function of
Drive Image PRO. It allows end-users to restore the partitions on the system as pre-
defined by the OEM. End users may restore a factory defined image with minimal
knowledge and interaction.
EasyRestore is based upon the current Drive Image Pro 4.0 functionality and uses the
current Drive Image Pro 4.0 imaging engine. All limitations for drive size and file
system support are inherited from the Drive Image Pro 4.0 product.
EasyRestore is configurable, and allows the OEM to predefine (via a script file) which
partitions to contain in the image file, which partitions to restore, the location of the
image file and where to restore the image file. The OEM may also modify the
EasyRestore interface to include the OEM logo and/or other specific information. Once
the script file has been defined by the OEM, the end user is presented with a clean, one-
button interface to restore the factory image.
The image may be stored on removable media (CD) or on a partition on the hard drive.
The image file represents the state of the hard drive as the computer was shipped from the
factory. This file can be restored to quickly return the computer to the factory state.
