MATERIALS:
• 4 pieces 4x4 cedar, 8' long for the corner posts
• 20 pieces of 2x4 cedar by 8' long for the rails, roof framing, and ladder
• 4 pieces 2x6 cedar by 6' long for the deck frame
• 12 pieces 1x6 cedar deck or fencing boards, (these are usually 1-1/4"
thick) for the deck
• 12 pieces of 8" cedar tapered siding for the roof shingles
• 1 ornamental fence post top for the tip of the roof
BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS:
• Layout the 2x6 frame to about 5' or 6' on a side and screw or nail on
planks
• Fasten platform to 4x4 posts at about 3' off the ground, (any higher is a
bit unsafe for jumping kids). Use 6" bolts and nuts or 5" lag bolts
• Attach 2x4 rails and braces and 45 degree diagonals for stiffness
• 1" square lattice can be purchased in 2x8 sheets and attached from the
rails to the platform, to keep toddlers from sliding out
• Build a ladder and attach securely, (a slide can also be added for more
fun)
• The roof can be a simple shed roof, or a somewhat tricky hip roof, (rising
to a single point in the middle), depending on your skill level and how
much time you want to invest
