Conference on
Landscape and
Greenway Planning
GREENWAYS, Corridors of
Change and Resilience
Budapest, Hungary
30
June - 3 July, 2016
The Fábos Conference on
Landscape and Greenway
Planning is held every three years
to bring together experts who are
influencing landscape planning,
policy making and greenway
planning from the local to
international level. It is intended to
highlight recent trends and expand
the literature about landscape and
greenway planning. The aim is to
explore how landscape architects
and planners from different
countries have approached
greenway planning and to
understand how greenways have
been tailored to each county’s
unique geographical, cultural, and
political circumstances. The
conference provides an opportunity
to publish full papers in printed
proceedings.

Conference themes in 2016
The world is in a state of social,
economic, political and ecological
change. From global climate
change to urbanization, planners
and landscape architects are
grappling with unprecedented
change as they respond to growing
demand for limited resources. This
theme underlies each of this year's
Fábos Conference topic areas:
Greenway Planning:
Planning for linear corridors
has occurred across multiple
scales - national, state or
province, and municipal. This
track will cover innovations in
greenway planning that span
research, policy and practice
with a focus on cultural
landscape planning,
recreational, and ecological
corridors.
Landscape Planning:
Planning for new uses while
protecting ecological integrity
and ecosystems is the theme
for landscape planning. This
includes green infrastructure,
ecological networks, and
urban planning solutions.
Landscape Design: An
important aspect of planning
is the final design and
implementation of landscapes
along a corridor. This topic
