Coprinus narcoticus (Batsch: Fr.) Fr., Epicrisis (1838) 250.
Size of pileus: up to 15 x 10 when closed, up to 25 mm when expanded
Colour of pileus: mousegrey. Lamellae: free; L= ?, l= ?. Stipe: up to 75 x 1.5-3 mm, white, slightly floccose. Smell: strongly 'narcotic'.
Spores: ellipsoid or ovoid, 9.0-13.3 x 4.8-6.7 µm; Q= 1.70-2.15, av. Q= 1.85; av. L= 11.3, av. B= 5.9 µm; Base of spores: conical.
Episporium: strongly developed, wrickled, up to c. 1.3 µm broad.
Basidia: 4-spored, 20-36 x 8-11 µm.
Pseudoparaphyses: 4-5.
Pleurocystidia: subglobose, utriform, subcylindric, 50-140 x 20-45 µm.
Cheilocystidia: subglobose, ellipsoid, utriform, 40-90 x 20-50 µm.
Veil: globose cells, warted, up to 100(-110) µm in diam.
Clamp-connections: very sparse, difficult to find.
Habitat: on dung, on the ground and on vegetable refuse.
