CALL FOR ENTRIES
Computer Arts Graduate Showcase 2006
Dear
Last year I wrote to you to discuss opportunities for forming closer links between your course and Computer Arts. Well, I m
happy to be writing to you once more and offering you the chance to give your final year students a real helping hand in
their attempts to break into the design industry.
I m talking, of course, about the imminent publication of the 2006 Computer Arts Graduate Showcase. We ve just issued
our Call For Entries and as part of that process I m inviting you and your students to submit your work for publication.
In case you haven t heard of the Computer Arts Graduate Showcase before, please allow me to elaborate. Each June,
Computer Arts publishes a special 36-page supplement showcasing the best work produced by final year students on the
UK s higher education-level design courses. This supplement comes with the July issue of Computer Arts and reaches
over 35,000 people in the design industry.
This year s categories are:
Illustration & 2D, Graphic Design, 3D, Web & Interactive Media, Animation, and Video & Broadcast Design.
Being featured in the Computer Arts Graduate Showcase is a great way for any graduate to kick-start their design career.
Publication is eagerly awaited by the industry, with both studios and agents looking to sign up promising new talent.
Indeed, many of those featured in previous years have gone on to forge successful careers in the design industry.
The most important thing I should stress, however, is that the deadline for entries is 18 April 2006. I know how busy both
you and your students are at this time of year, but this is a great opportunity for them and your course to gain vital
exposure. We wouldn t want you to miss out.
I ve taken the liberty of including an entry form and submission guidelines with this letter so that you can let your students
know exactly what s involved  please feel free to photocopy these as many times as you like and distribute as you see fit.
Students can also download an entry form from www.computerarts.co.uk/graduateshowcase.
It s inevitable that I won t be able to answer every question you might have in this letter, so please do feel free to contact me
