Reading
When Arthur Griffiths retired fifteen years ago, he decided that it was time to do all those things he had always wanted to do. He made a list. He had never travelled, he had never painted a picture and he had never played a musical instrument. He enrolled at his local Adult Education College for a course in French for Beginners. Within three years his French was good enough for him to move to Paris and enrol at Art College. He studied portraits and abstract art, learned a variety of techniques. He completed his course with a show of his work in a small gallery. It wasn't exactly the Louvre, but Arthur was delighted. For the next few years he earned money as an artist, painting portraits for tourists near the Eiffel Tower. He saved enough money to buy a violin, and is now learning that. He already plays in a small amateur orchestra.. |
