WHY DO YOUNG PEOPLE IN POLAND TO JOIN THE NAVY
We should say about people who want to become professional soldiers and about people who must serve as common seamen.
The second group of young people want to serve the navy, because it is a kind of adventure. The uniform is the most beautiful in the army. The girls like it very much. Several years ago young guys wanted to serve in the navy, because they have to serve three years. It was very long period for young people but good for warships.
The first group of people want to join their life with navy. Why??? Young men think that it is a guarantee of steady work and a steady earnings. It is very important especially nowadays. Studies at academy is free for fee. People may not pay for books, food and uniforms. They got some money as soldier's pay. After academy they can get a flat or money for it. They can serve in very attractive garrisons for example Hel, Świnoujście. The Polish Navy has a lot of contact with other NATO navies. They can meet interesting people and visit attractive and sometimes exotic ports. Some officers can work for the NATO' Headquarters. The main reason for some people is period of duty in the army. They can go retire after fifteen years. It is possible but I think it is very small per cent of them.
Finally, the military service in the navy is difficult and heavy but it can get a lot of satisfaction .
