TOPIC / THEME: Function - Possession in 3 v 0 and 3 v 1 practices

DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE:
A functional practice designed to improve the player's ability to maintain possession.
ORGANISATION:
	Grid size: 12m x 12m with a 3m channel between grids 16 players; in groups of four with one ball per group 4 bibs for defenders Extra balls with the Coach for continuity Players have free movement in a 3v0 practice, rotate players every 30 seconds Progress to position a manikin in the middle of each grid 3v1 (Passive) Progress to include a defender in each grid 3v1 (Active)

3 v 0 Possession Open body shape Accuracy Weight Timing Control Progression: 3 v 1 (Passive) Possession Angle of support Distance of support Progression: 3 v 1 (Active) Possession Create own space by moving the ball Time of the pass Disguise on the pass

NOTES:

Supporting Player's movement is dictated by first touch of receiver Rotate the players roles every 20-30 seconds during the session To increase tempo create game situations, a number of successful passes is equivalent to a goal
