What is love?
"What is love?" This question is as old as the history of mankind. The answers have always varied, since everyone understands the meaning of this word in their own way.
For a little child, love means the special feeling of security which only mother can give. Her presence - we will never know why-suppresses all worries and dangers of the world.
For a young girl, it is the first hamburger to share with the boy she likes and the first words of love she hears.
For parents, love can be found in their children's admiration, attachment, trust and obedience; in a bunch of flowers on Mother's Day; in not playing truant; and in tears when it's time for the children to leave home and start living on their own.
For a wife or a husband, love means faithfulness and absolute loyalty, care, friendliness and constant willingness to be together - both in good and bad times. For some of them red roses mean a lot, while others do not pay attention to symbols. Some of them need heroism as a proof of love, while others expect just good will in their everyday life.
For religious people, love consists in hope, joy and freedom from fear. They seldom feel lonely and abandoned.
For a patriot, it is courage and readiness for sacrifice.
For a stamp collector, love means the enthusiasm which will never allow to ask how much the recently issued set of stamps costs.
We could go on like this for long, but it would hardly make the question fully comprehensible. "Love" is one of the words whose definitions cannot be put in words, because there is no language in which the world of feelings can be expressed and defined.
