Do you agree or disagree with a quote: "I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past"
Do I agree with Thomas Jefferson’s words: “I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past”? That is hard question.
Some kind of people like recollect their history, always look back and thinking: “What if…”. I think this is bad way to live, because when we all the time are thinking about the past we can’t move on and live in present. The past has one important rule – we can’t change it. Conclusion in this case is simple – if we can’t changing something, we shouldn’t waste our time to do it unnecessarily. Better use all energy to create good future.
But we can’t completely forget about the past. Our private history (or history our country for example) is important to us, because with that help we can learn something. If I broke my leg, because I ride too fast, I will know I need be more careful next time. If we know history, we will know what we should expect, we can predict the future. As say some popular proverbs: history is a teacher of life, or he who knows much makes many mistakes.
My answer for Thomas Jefferson’s words is: Of course I think the dreams of the future are better than the history of the past, but if I remember our past, I will be good future creator.
