Despiteitsfaults,theDavyLamp,alongwithothersimilarlampswhichappearedatthesametime,didhelptoreduceminingaccidentsalthoughtheystayedatveryhighlevelsuntilelectriclampsstartedtoappearinthelatenineteenthcentury.
