Dear Mark,

Thank you for your last letter. I’m sorry that I haven’t written but I was very busy. I’m writing to you because I want tell you about my first military mission.

I was sent to Afghanistan two months ago. I’m a platoon commander. My main task is to provide safety in A zone. I lead patrols every day on hostile territory. This is very dangerous because the guerrillas can hide everywhere. I love this job. It’s very exciting and people with I work are the best. My soldiers are very brave and well trained. I trust them and they trust me so we very well co-operate together on patrols and in combat.

Two days ago in B Coy died two people in combat with the enemy. I’m worried because they left families in Poland. Sometimes I think that I could be killed too in combat. But I think that only sometimes. I have to be focus on my task and provide safety to my soldiers.
