The Conjuring Film Review

The film Conjuring had a very good and very interesting trailer which looked really scary, interesting giving the viewers many questions about the film making them hungry for more. Really well made trailer being good making you want to watch the film as soon as you can it has a major downside which is that all of the best scenes from the film have been included in the film trailer making watching the whole film absolutely pointless. Although the film had a very interesting, mysterious and scary trailer the whole film was quite boring, throughout the whole film there was only couple of jump moments which could make the film worth watching but the rest of the film was simply plain and making the audience sleepy and bored. From the start till the end the whole story was very plain, very easy to judge and guess which did not really help the audience to get scared in the jump moments as they were not paying so much attention to the film and what was going on in the screen because they were bored to tears from the whole plot of the film. Although most of the jump moments did not work as they should some of the scary moments could really scare you making you jump out of the seat which was quite good. The cast on the other hand was very good including Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor, the roles were played very well and with great emotions but there is no surprise as these are all very good and well known actors who took part in many other successful films before. The film was directed by James Wan who also directed “Saw” and “Insidious” which were also films of the same genre were also not very scary so it could have been expected that this film will also not scare you to death but might have some hard to watch scenes only for adults. The plot of the film is very simple and very widely used in the horror genre of films, the parents of 5 daughters move into an old house for a new start but right from the start nothing is going right, after the first night the mother wakes up with a large bruise and then they find their dog dead outside their house, from that point onwards their situation only gets worst as they are getting more problems from the daemons that are in the house and they cannot control anything and don’t know what to do next. In that moment they get help from Ed and Lorraine who are demonologists who specialize in exorcism. Ed and Lorraine go to the house in an attempt to gather evidence to receive authorization for an exorcism from the priest but it quickly turns out that it will be their worst and most important case that they have ever been working on giving them a lot of trouble. They have many problems as well with the house as well as with their property and their family. I would not advise anyone to go wand watch this film and I would also not recommend it to anyone because it is purely a very boring film and out of the 90 minutes of film there is only about 15 minutes worth of watching which is not enough to go and watch the whole film and in my opinion it is just pure waste of time and money. I would give this film a score of 2 out of 10.
