Key Verses
There are two sets of verses, with which a teacher and student should be familiar:
The following pages show:
1. A complete list of all 27 KMV's and I50 KTV's.
2. A table showing the KTV's for each theme.
3. A table showing all the verses that relate to the sixteen themes.
NB (a) Teachers may note that this information is also in the Students Handbook (pages xx-xx)[?].
(b) In the BG Lesson Outlines, KTV’s are denoted by a single asterisk (*) next to the verse
number, and KMV’s by a double asterisk (**)
(c) The Module Four Worksheets also list the Key Thematic Verses for the Gita, but with more

List of Key Verses (Bhagavad-Gita)
The following verses are the
Key Thematic Verses
(see next page for details of the
Major Themes to which they relate). Students are expected to know in English (if not by
heart, at least sufficiently well to be able to locate) many of these verses, particularly for
the Module Four assessment papers which focus significantly on our Sixteen
Bhagavad-gita Themes, and the 21 Themes for the other three books.
Key Memory Verses
are underlined. Students are required to learn these in both
Sanskrit and English, and they will be assessed during the exams (Modules 1, 2 & 4).
The respective totals for both sets of verses are shown below in the two right-hand columns.
