Title

V360 - GSM - No/Low Alert Audio

PROBLEM

Service is aware of an issue, identified in the GSM V360 MOL analysis, with customer returns complaints of “No/Low Alert Audio
root cause analysis identified as a design issue. A thick ring of ferromagnetic metal shaving attracted and clinging to the speaker voice
coil as indicated in the figure 1. The figure 2 is more detailed view of the metal shaving.

SOLUTION

Short term – Replace with a new speaker.
Long Term –Development engineering implemented a new mesh of the V360 that has a finer mesh size.

FIELD SERVICE ACTION

Customer Returns:
Perform the following service procedure on any GSM V360 returns with customer complaints of: “No/Low Alert Audio”:

1) Verify the customer complaint;

2) Replace the rear housing assembly. Ensure that the housing contains a known good speaker;
a) If the problem is corrected by changing the rear housing assembly, then replace the speaker P/N 5088017N04.
b) If the problem is not corrected by above described process in step 2a, then proceed with normal troubleshooting techniques.

3) Reassemble and retest for proper alert audio.

CALL CENTER ACTION

When responding to problem product customer inquires on the GSM V360, where the customer
reports that the handset “No/Low Alert Audio”, direct the customer to have their phone serviced per
this FSB.
