Last Call: Tequila Sunrise
Moira Rogers
Werewolf Evelyn Smith loves her boyfriend, Kieran. Some people find it odd that an
alpha female would choose a weaker mate, but Evelyn is willing to ignore her
occasional cravings for submission when the reward is a fulfilling life with a man
who loves her.
Kieran Rhys doesn’t mind the mocking jibes of his pack, but knowing the woman he
loves has needs he can’t meet drives him crazy. After months of coaxing, he’s finally
convinced Evelyn to accompany him to Last Call. If he can’t give his lover what she
needs, he’ll find someone to help him.
Tequila Sunrise: Looking for domination.
Unrequited love has been hard on Zack Elliott. Even if the object of his desire
returned his feelings, she’s a fragile human whose body couldn’t withstand the force
of his needs. Evelyn and Kieran seem like the perfect solution, especially when he
realizes the one thing they need is the one thing he’s been holding back for far too
long -- absolute domination.
Chapter One
Kieran scanned the floor at Last Call and wondered, not for the first time, which
of the men in the crowd would be the one to fuck his girlfriend.
Next to him, Eve argued with the bartender, her voice husky and nervous. “I’m
not discounting tradition. I just wonder about the symbolism.”
“You’d have to ask the owner, ma’am. But it’s a drink with layers. A top and a
bottom.”
Eve’s cheeks heated, and Kieran heard the way her heart raced even over the
loud music and the noise from the dance floor. “Oh.”
“Do you want to order one?”
The flashing lights hurt his eyes, and the music was loud enough to rattle even
normal eardrums. His supersensitive ones were starting to question the wisdom of
coming to the club.
Still, it had taken him the better part of six months to convince Eve to come with
him, and he wasn’t going to leave without getting what he’d come for. So he turned and
glanced at the menu in Eve’s trembling hand. “The Sunrise means you’re looking for a
top, right?” At the bartender’s nod, Kieran pulled out his wallet. “What’s your name?”
It must have been an odd request, because the man fidgeted a little. “Bernie.”
“Well, Bernie.” He pulled out his gold card and held it out between two fingers,
trying to ignore the way Eve held herself rigidly at his side. “We’ll need two.”
The bartender glanced at Eve, whose breathing had turned a little unsteady,
before turning his attention back to Kieran. “You don’t need two unless you’re both
participating. Just to avoid misunderstandings.”

As nervous as Eve was, she couldn’t hide the longing in her eyes. Kieran grasped
her hand and smiled reassuringly. “We do everything together, Bernie. We’ll need two
drinks.”
The bartender turned away, and Eve’s fingers tightened almost painfully around
his. “You don’t have to do this,” she whispered. “If this doesn’t go well… I don’t want
to risk losing you over something silly.”
He drew her hand up to his mouth and kissed her knuckles. “It’s not silly. It’s
something you need. And you can’t lose me, love. Not over this. So we’ll do it
together.”
“Thank you.” Her gaze caught his, and she stared at him as if no one else existed
as the bartender’s voice cut through the music, spilling out of the speakers to announce
to the patrons of the club that the couple at the bar had ordered a pair of Tequila
Sunrises.
Eve was a strong werewolf -- it was the reason they were at Last Call, after all --
and her sudden tense nervousness evidenced itself in a prickling wave of power that
spilled out from her and raised the hair on the back of his neck.
The wolf inside him whined. He steeled himself against the urge to submit to
her, to roll over and show his belly, even in a figurative sense. He was used to it, to
fighting the instinct to cringe when Eve was wound up or displeased.
More than a few people had abandoned their dancing in favor of watching the
events unfold at the bar, and Kieran felt the appraising weight of their stares as he
handed Eve her drink and lifted his own. He knew what they were thinking; it was
nothing less than what he heard from his own pack all the time.
You don’t belong together.
He raised his glass in a toast and arched an eyebrow at Eve. “Tonight is for both
of us,” he whispered. “No regrets.”
“No regrets,” she agreed in a quiet, tense whisper before tipping her drink back.
* * *
They didn’t belong together.

Zack Elliot absently swirled the remaining beer in his bottle, every bit of his
attention riveted to the couple on the dais in the middle of the bar.
The woman was gorgeous. Nothing as refined as pretty could accurately describe
her earthy, exotic beauty, from the dark hair pulled up behind her head to the flare of
her hips under the flowing, brightly-patterned dress she wore.
Power radiated from her, a fierce dominance that made him want to bare his
teeth and bite her. His hand tightened around his bottle, and he set it down on the
nearest table. The last thing he wanted was to end up in the bathroom, picking glass
slivers out of his hand.
The blond man sitting next to her was obviously incapable of handling the power
inside her. His body language said it all, from the slight slump of his shoulders to the
way he hunched a little, as if trying to keep his head lower than hers in spite of his four-
inch height advantage.
Zack had seen it before, though not often, and almost never with a woman this
strong. The fact that she was there, desperate for a man who could challenge her, wasn’t
surprising. The fact that the man beside her seemed willing to go along with it, even
participate… That was different.
She turned, and the full force of her power hit Zack as her eyes found his. There
was nothing submissive there, nothing but wild strength and a need for someone just as
strong. A craving for somebody stronger, somebody to take the burden of control away
from her, if only for a few hours.
If it had just been the woman, Zack would already have her room key in his
pocket and his hand at her back, urging her toward the elevator. She was exactly what
he’d been looking for -- a woman who could handle the dominant wolf inside him.
He’d kept him penned for far too long, denying the wild in favor of the civilized.
It was driving him crazy.
But it wasn’t just the woman looking for domination tonight. The man beside her
drained the last bit of his drink, reminding Zack that the two were a package deal. Then
the man turned, following the woman’s line of sight, and caught Zack’s stare.

The blond man looked away immediately.
Well, why the fuck not? Zack arched one eyebrow at the woman, and held her gaze
as he approached the bar.
She didn’t look away, but she did shift to the side, a subtle move that put her in
front of the man. Whether he was strong enough for her or not, it was obvious she’d
long since staked her claim. He belonged to her, and she’d protect him, even if the look
she’d leveled on Zack had already begun to shift from angry challenge to hot invitation.
The mixed signals would be easy enough to sort out upstairs. He stepped up in
front of her, his eyes fixed on hers as he reached behind her to rest his hand on the
man’s shoulder. “Give me the key.”
The blond man stiffened for a second, then turned and rose from the stool.
“Eve?” His voice held a trace of an accent, probably British. “Is this okay with you?”
“Don’t ask her,” Zack ordered. “Tell her. Yes or no.”
The man cleared his throat and leaned closer to the woman before murmuring,
“Let’s go upstairs.”
She stayed frozen for just long enough to make him wonder if she could give in.
The tension between them twisted tighter and she lifted her chin in a gesture of
defiance, though who it was aimed at was anyone’s guess. Then she slid from the stool,
the split skirt of her dress sliding open to give him a momentary flash of tanned skin
luscious enough to make his hands clench. “Fine,” she whispered. “Let’s go upstairs.”
Zack took the key and led the pair toward the back of the club, his smile growing
with every step. He could give them what they needed, take what he needed, and be
done with it. No more tight leash on the wolf inside. And when he was exhausted,
sated, maybe he could get his head on straight again.
* * *
Even with Kieran at her side, every step Eve took toward the elevators at the end
of the hallway felt like a betrayal. It wasn’t her intentions, exactly; she’d mostly come to
terms with what they were going to do. What shocked and embarrassed her was the

strength of her need, and the fact that the strange man guiding them to the room made
her body feel empty and aching with just the brush of his power.
Kieran stopped beside the elevator, his hand still wrapped firmly around hers.
The man called the elevator and studied them long enough to make Eve fidget. Then he
spoke. “I’m Zack.”
Even his voice called to her, or to the wolf inside. She’d struggled against her
instincts for so long it was hard to tell where she stopped and the wolf began.
Confusion filled her voice with husky challenge when she replied. “I’m Evelyn. Eve.
This is Kieran.”
Kieran cleared his throat. “Nice to meet you.”
Zack laughed. “Awful polite, all things considered.”
“I try to be at all times.”
The elevator door slid open, and Kieran put a hand to her back as they stepped
in. Zack rubbed his chin and moved to lean against the opposite wall while Kieran
swiped the room card and pressed closer to Eve’s side. “You two going to make it?” The
man’s voice had dropped to a low rumble that weakened Eve’s knees.
The wolf rose to the surface without warning, drawn by the allure of Zack’s
strength. Eve straightened and let her gaze drop to his feet, then dragged it slowly up
his body, impressed in spite of herself by the hard muscles showcased to such effect by
his casual jeans and shirt. When she reached his eyes again she smiled, all mocking
challenge. “You’re not that impressive,” she lied.
He just laughed again, then reached out and hauled her to him, spinning her so
her back hit his chest. “I never said I was.”
It left her staring at Kieran, and the tense, wary expression on his face cut
through any satisfaction she got from the way Zack curled around her. “Are you okay?”
Kieran opened his mouth, but it was Zack who answered. “He doesn’t know
whether to kick my ass or curl up in a ball on the floor. What he doesn’t get yet is that
he doesn’t have to do either.”
For one miserable moment, no one moved.
Moira Rogers
Last Call: Tequila Sunrise

Kieran shot off the wall and pressed his body against Eve’s. “I’m okay,” he
whispered, then covered her mouth with his in a rough, possessive kiss. Arousal
returned in full force, enhanced by the hard wall of Zack’s chest at her back and
Kieran’s lean body rubbing against her as he thrust his tongue past her lips and
swallowed her moan.
Zack moved his hands to her waist, giving her the freedom to lift one arm and
curl her fingers in Kieran’s short hair. Zack’s fingers tightened on her hips and she felt
the gentle scratch of stubble against her neck. Warm breath tickled against her skin,
followed by the quick, sharp nip of teeth.
If she hadn’t been pinned between both men, her knees might have given out.
Eve didn’t even realize the elevator had stopped until Zack lifted his mouth to
her ear. “Get your ass to the room. Now. Both of you.”
Kieran raised his head, his blue eyes dark and hazy with desire. “Come on, Eve.
We both need this.”
We both need this. The wolf inside howled her agreement as she curled her fingers
around Kieran’s arm and all but dragged him from the elevator. She wasn’t sure what
she needed, but whatever it was, Zack would give it to her. To them both.
* * *
Kieran’s heart pounded, and his hand shook as he opened the door to their room.
God only knew what would happen, but the scene with Zack in the elevator had
calmed his anxieties.
He wasn’t sure what he’d anticipated. Perhaps he’d thought the alpha who
joined them would want him to sit and watch, to hold his instinctive reactions inside as
another man dominated and pleasured his girlfriend.
The thought hadn’t really appealed to him.
Zack, however, seemed to expect his participation. Kieran’s mouth went dry. If
he could be part of it, part of satisfying Eve, then he wouldn’t feel so…
So inadequate.
Moira Rogers

The door swung open, and Kieran smiled at Eve and their companion. “Would
anyone like a drink?”
Eve didn’t respond. She prowled past him with an expression he recognized all
too well, tense and edgy and a tiny bit dangerous. The wolf was riding her hard, a
situation that had always been impossible to manage before now.
Zack walked past him and sat on the bed to remove his shoes. “Nothing for me,
thanks.” He tossed his boots and socks beside the liquor cabinet and nodded to Kieran.
“Shut the door and help Eve undress.”
He locked the door and cleared his throat. “Usually when she’s like this, she
prefers to --”
Zack arched an eyebrow. “I didn’t ask, Kieran. Do it or I will.”
Even though he was a werewolf himself, sometimes Kieran forgot how fast Eve
could move. A hair-raising growl filled the room as she shouldered in front of him,
protective anger in every line of her body. “He’s mine. Don’t talk to him like that.”
Zack rose and stalked over, stopping mere inches away from Eve. “You both
ordered drinks downstairs,” he reminded her. “That makes him mine tonight.” He
glanced over her shoulder and met Kieran’s eyes. “‘Watermelon.’ Say it, either of you,
and everything stops. But, until then, you do what I say, when I say.”
Eve practically vibrated with tension and rage, and Kieran lifted a hand to the
back of her neck. Slowly, he let his fingers drift down to the zipper on her dress and
grasped the tab.
He only had to coax the zipper down a few inches before the fabric slipped from
Eve’s left shoulder. The bra revealed was one he’d bought for her with the money from
his last advance, sinfully expensive silk that hugged her curves so perfectly his breath
caught in his throat. He coaxed the bra strap down and lowered his mouth to her bared
shoulder. The taste of her skin and the smell of her arousal pulled a growl from him.
Zack hummed in approval and pulled at Eve’s hair, tilting her head back.
“You’re angry with me, Eve,” he whispered against her mouth, then licked her lip. “But
you’re so turned on you’re about to come right now, aren’t you?”
Moira Rogers
Last Call: Tequila Sunrise
- 12 -
“Yes.” It was low and soft, an admission that seemed torn from her against her
will, but she shimmied a little and the dress slipped from her other shoulder and
slithered to the floor, leaving her standing in a pool of colorful silk.
Kieran slipped one hand around Eve’s hip and down, edging under her panties.
Then he stopped and raised his eyes. His human side balked at seeking approval from
Zack, but the rest of him needed it.
Zack looked down and placed his own hand over Kieran’s, urging his fingers
lower. “Touch her,” he commanded, his voice low, and Kieran gritted his teeth when
his fingertips reached the unbelievable wetness between her thighs.
She moaned and arched her body, pressing into his touch hungrily. He knew her
body well enough to know she was already close, a truth confirmed by the way she
reached back and curled her fingers around the back of his neck. “Harder. More.”
Zack jerked the silk and lace away from one breast and cupped her naked flesh.
He bent his head and closed his mouth over her dusky nipple, and Eve shuddered in
Kieran’s arms. She did it again when Kieran rubbed his fingers firmly over her clit and
thrust against her ass, letting her feel the hot, hard length of his cock through his
clothes.
“Baby --” Her fingers tightened until he felt the sting of her fingernails against
the sensitive skin of his neck. “Take your clothes off,” she whispered, the words low
and commanding. The hot press of her power against him made his wolf want to
whimper and obey without question.
Shock nearly made him stumble back when Zack growled and yanked Kieran’s
hand out of Eve’s panties. “No. He doesn’t do what you say. Not tonight.”
His sweet little girlfriend bared her teeth and snarled. Zack just grinned lazily,
and Kieran’s blood heated to a boil, hardening his cock to the point of pain. “Better
mind what he says, love,” he whispered in her ear. “If you can handle it.”
Chapter Two
Eve was beyond snarly, and Zack was ready for one of them to bust out the safe
word. But instead of calling a halt to the sex, Kieran seemed to get off on watching Eve
squirm.
And why wouldn’t he? Ego was a tricky thing for men anyway. Add in an entire
level of animal behavior, and things got confusing real fast. If Zack’s suspicions were
right, Kieran was going to enjoy Eve’s submission as much as she did.
“Take off your clothes, Kieran,” he said finally. “And lie down on the bed.” He
watched Eve as her boyfriend moved to comply. Her gaze followed his movements,
and her breathing grew ragged as Kieran’s shirt hit the floor and he reached for his
pants.
Her fingers curled into fists, but when she jerked her gaze to Zack’s face, the
anger was gone. In its place he saw confusion, and need, and frustration so intense it
made her tremble. “He’s mine to protect.”
He framed her face with his hands and leaned down to bite her lip again. “Give
it to me for a little while, Eve,” he coaxed softly. “Just for the night. Let me protect both
of you.”
The nervous energy around her calmed as her eyes drifted shut, and she gave a
tiny nod. “For tonight.”
Kieran stretched out on the bed, and Zack stepped behind Eve and unhooked her
bra. “What do you do at home?” He smoothed the pricey lingerie off her body and
tossed it to the floor. “Do you suck his cock?”
She shivered, but her voice held all the arrogance of an alpha werewolf. “Until he
begs me to let him come.”
Moira Rogers
Last Call: Tequila Sunrise
- 14 -
Judging from the hard-on Kieran was sporting already, that was often. Zack
ignored his own burgeoning erection and guided her to the bed. “Do it now. Nice and
slow, with your ass in the air, and maybe I’ll fuck you. Maybe.”
She didn’t resist as he pushed her gently forward. She planted her knees on
either side of Kieran’s legs and bent over him, giving Zack a mouth-watering view of
those shapely hips and her ass encased in flimsy, expensive silk.
Kieran groaned at the first touch of her tongue to his cock, and Zack grinned as
he dragged his shirt over his head and reached for his belt. She’d submit to him and,
before the end of the night, to Kieran, as well.
He dropped his jeans and boxers and climbed on the bed behind Eve. She was
teasing Kieran, caressing his cock with long, leisurely licks, and Zack gripped her hip.
Her skin was hot under his mouth as he leaned over and licked a wet line up her spine.
Kieran watched, biting his lip and arching up into her mouth. He caught Zack’s
gaze and laughed, then slipped a hand into Eve’s hair and unclipped the dark mass. It
fell around her face, shining and smelling of citrus.
Zack nudged her hair aside and bit the back of her neck. Her breath hissed out
sharply, and her entire body went tense, almost trembled. She started to pull back, but
Kieran wrapped a hand in her hair and shook his head. “Don’t stop, love.”
An aroused whimper escaped her, and Zack caught the waistband of her panties
with his thumb as he straightened. “You’re a tease, Eve. I like that.” He pulled the silk
halfway down her ass, then moved off the bed.
This time the noise she made was one of frustration. She started to lift her head
again, but Kieran pulled her hair more firmly. Tension filled the room, along with a
skittering, nervous power, and it wasn’t hard for Zack to figure out the problem. Eve
might get off on the idea of Kieran calling the shots, but her wolf had other ideas.
Zack stood by the bed and stroked her back for a second, then slapped her ass
hard. She jerked her head around and glared, but her body betrayed her by rocking
toward him, her back arched in submission. She turned back to Kieran without having
to be told, and this time her movements were far more purposeful. The head of his cock
Moira Rogers

disappeared between her full lips, which looked hot as hell wrapped around the shaft
as she sucked him with what looked like impressive dedication.
Zack groaned and fought the urge to stroke his own cock in time with the
bobbing of her head. Instead, he pinched her nipple and opened the nightstand to pull
out a condom. “That’s it, Eve. Keep it up. Don’t stop until one of us tells you to.”
He dragged her panties down her legs and eased them over her shoes, then
moved back into position behind her. He closed his eyes for a moment, blocking out
everything but Kieran’s moans of encouragement and pleasure. It would be too easy to
stroke his hands down the wicked curves of Eve’s body and picture paler skin, lighter
hair…
He forced his eyes open just as he thrust into her pussy. He’d never fucked a
woman while pretending she was someone else, and he wasn’t going to start now.
* * *
Eve loved going down on Kieran. She had a fondness for oral sex in general,
which could have something to do with the fact Kieran was a genius with his tongue.
But as good as it felt to have him drive her into insanity with his clever mouth and
dexterous fingers, she loved going down on him more, because that was when he talked
to her, when he used his ability with words to twist her into a frenzy of need until she
climbed into his lap and rode him to collapse.
She’d left frantic need behind ten minutes ago. Kieran’s fingers twisted in her
hair, pulling hard enough to show dominance, and even the feeling of Zack’s cock
sinking into her body wasn’t as hot as the idea of Kieran pulling her hair, of Kieran
slapping her ass and driving into her until she felt full and completely vulnerable under
the onslaught of sensation.
He twisted under her and moaned. “Faster,” he whispered. “More. I want to
come in your mouth.”
Zack bent his mouth to her back again, pressing parted lips to her spine, his
steady, hard thrusts keeping time with her rhythm as she sucked Kieran. He spoke low

against her back. “She wants you to do this, Kieran. To ride her like this.” He landed
another firm, stinging smack to the side of her ass. “To own her.”
Just the thought of it nearly pushed her over the edge. She fisted her fingers in the
quilt on either side of Kieran’s hips and held on for dear life. It was hard to keep up the
rhythm of the blowjob with the distraction of Zack’s cock plunging into her, wishing
Kieran wasn’t too much of a gentleman to thrust into her mouth.
“Would you like that, Eve?” Kieran ground out, pulling her hair harder. “Fast, a
little rough, with me yanking your head back and ordering you not to come until I said
you could?”
Her body clenched at the image his words painted, and she groaned. She swirled
her tongue around his cock once before lifting her head just enough to speak. “Yes.
God, yes.”
Zack groaned. “Keep talking, Kieran --”
“I think about fucking your mouth.” Kieran’s voice cut through the command,
tickling her ears and twisting the need inside her even higher. “Fucking your mouth
while I eat your pussy. Making you come with my cock and my tongue inside you at
the same time.”
It was too much. Tiny tremors started somewhere inside her, set her whole body
to shaking as she threw her head back with a hoarse cry. Release rode her hard, making
her pant for breath as hot pleasure flooded her body and she clenched around Zack’s
cock.
Zack rocked through her orgasm, then slid his arms under her shoulders and
pulled her up against his chest. Kieran sat up and trailed his tongue over her stomach
and up to her breasts, one hand skating down to tease her clit as Zack began to move
again.
“Kier --” It came out as a breathless whimper, her body trapped between the
aftermath of climax and a fresh surge of pleasure. She strained against Zack’s arms,
whimpering as she pressed her open mouth against Kieran’s forehead. “Kiss me, kiss
me --”
Moira Rogers
Last Call: Tequila Sunrise
- 17 -
He rose to his knees and grabbed the back of her head. When he kissed her, his
tongue conquered hers, slick and teasing. Zack bit her neck again, then brushed his lips
over her ear. “Come again. Then I want to watch Kieran fuck you until you scream.”
She groaned against Kieran’s mouth and curled her fingers around his shoulders,
clinging to him as the sharp angle of Zack’s thrusts stoked the fire inside her. Kieran’s
fingers continued their clever little circles, rubbing her clit in the way he knew got her
off.
It was too much sensation -- too much pleasure -- to keep distinct. She was
surrounded by the smell of male wolf, of sex. Zack’s energy shivered over her skin,
taming the wolf inside with his strength.
But even that wasn’t distinct, not with Kieran curled around her, too. Their scents
mixed, their energy twined together, and the wolf gave way to the woman with a
confused whimper. Hot anticipation skittered up her spine as she tore her mouth away
from Kieran’s and offered him the vulnerable arch of her neck, a gesture of submission
the wolf was too sated to refuse.
He answered it with a growl and a hard snap of his teeth.
She came, hard, and there was nothing pretty or poetic about it. Her body
bucked between them as she struggled to choose between grinding herself against
Kieran’s fingers and pushing back against Zack’s cock. She panted. She whimpered.
Her nails dug into Kieran’s shoulder and she screamed, riding the clenching pleasure as
the world faded in a mess of slick skin and fingers and teeth and the feeling of being
well fucked.
Zack shuddered, and his fingers dug into her hips as he drove into her one last
time, a deep groan rumbling out of his chest. For a split second, satisfaction and pride
flashed in Kieran’s eyes, eclipsing the lust that still burned in them.
She collapsed into Kieran’s arms, and he covered her damp skin with soft kisses.
His cock still prodded her, hard and insistent, but his touch was gentle. Loving.
Zack panted behind them. “I’ll be right back.” He disappeared into the
bathroom.

Kieran kissed her temple. “Okay?”
“Oh, yeah.” She nuzzled into his neck, inhaling the sharp, masculine scent mixed
with sweat. “That was some dirty talking, baby. It was hot, too.”
He laughed. “You always like that.”
“Mmm. Lucky me, I have a man who likes words.” She licked the spot where his
pulse throbbed at the base of his throat, then closed her teeth lightly over it. “Maybe
you should write some dirty stories just for me. Read them to me when I go down on
you.”
“My editor might be a bit peeved, love,” he murmured. “You know how she gets
when she thinks I’m slacking off on handing her the next great American novel.”
The bathroom door opened, and Zack came out. He flashed them a grin as he
pulled on his shorts and dragged a pack of cigarettes from the pocket of his jeans. “I
half expected you two to be going at it.” He held out the pack and raised an eyebrow.
“Want a smoke?”
Kieran took two and lit them both with the silver lighter Zack handed him.
“Thanks.” He passed one cigarette to Eve and relaxed back against the pillows.
Zack sank into a chair by the wall with his own cigarette. “You’re a writer, huh?
What do you do, Eve?”
She rarely smoked, but now seemed to be a good time. She took a drag and
exhaled slowly. “I’m an engineer. What about you?”
“I’m a cop.” He rubbed a hand over the back of his head. “Detective.”
It was a profession that suited his rugged strength. She inhaled from the cigarette
again before rolling over to set it in a small, discreet glass ashtray on the bedside table.
Kieran was still aroused, and the sight of him lounging back in bed with a
cigarette and a prominent erection stirred something that should have been tired by
now. She licked her lower lip and curled her fingers around his cock, stroking up
slowly as she turned to look at Zack. “Are you still the boss?” The idea that had
infuriated her a half hour ago made her hot now.
“’Til someone calls the whole thing off… yeah.”

Eve stroked his cock again, and Kieran’s breath caught. Zack watched them
closely and arched an eyebrow. “I think I said something about you fucking her until
she screamed, Kieran. What do you think?”
He placed his cigarette next to hers and brushed her hair back from her face. “I
want it slow,” he whispered, his hips moving under her hand. “I want you to ride my
cock.”
Her gaze shifted from him to Zack and back. “Now?”
Zack hesitated, a teasing glint in his eyes, then tilted his head. “If Kieran wants.”
“Is that what you want, baby?” She was already moving, sliding to straddle him
and brace her hands against the headboard on either side of his shoulders. Her hair
tumbled forward again, tickling at his face as she rocked her hips once. She rubbed
against his cock, taunting him with the slick heat of her pussy and the memory of how
good it felt to be inside her.
“No.” His own words shocked him, and he stared at Eve when she drew back to
peer at him in confusion. He tightened his hands on her thighs. “Turn around.”
Heat flared in her eyes, along with more than a little challenge. It was hard not to
back down as she studied him with eyes that didn’t look quite human, but a few tense
heartbeats later she lifted her body and turned.
Across the room, Zack laughed. “Gnashing your teeth yet, Eve?”
Her body stiffened and Kieran heard her soft, unmistakable snarl. Zack sat up
straighter, and Kieran bit his lip. He couldn’t let Zack run the entire show, or he might
as well not be there at all. So he scratched his nails lightly down her back and gripped
her hips. “Move.”
She was usually graceful, but not tonight. Tonight she was almost clumsy; her
body trembled and it took her three tries to line their hips up. She hissed in a breath
when she finally got it, sinking down onto his cock hard and fast. Tight, clenching heat
surrounded him, and she rocked a little and whimpered when he inched that much
deeper.

Kieran arched his neck, his head digging back into the pillows. The long, silky
drape of her hair beckoned, so Kieran gathered a handful and tugged lightly. “I said
slow, love.”
She moaned and rocked again, lifting up just a few inches before dropping to
grind against him. “I need you, Kieran. I need you.”
“I know.” He focused on the curve of her hip under his hand and the heat of her
body around his. He barely noticed when Zack rose and approached.
But Eve noticed. She stiffened with another low snarl and stopped moving.
“What?”
Zack stopped a few feet from the bed and eyed her, bemused. “Got a problem,
Eve?”
“I don’t want to fuck him while you laugh at me.”
Kieran froze as something stormy and wild gathered in Zack’s eyes. Then he
blinked and it was gone. “I guess I’ve worn out my welcome, then.” He grabbed his
jeans and shook his head. “Good luck with your thing.”
“Wait.” Kieran rose up until his chest pressed to Eve’s back. “You can’t go.
There’s --” He bit off a curse. If Zack left, they’d be right back at square one. “There’s
got to be something we can do.”
Zack just shook his head again. “Lady doesn’t want me here.”
Eve made a frustrated noise and turned her head until her face was tucked
against his cheek. “It’s not funny,” she whispered. “I fight myself and I can’t control it
and it’s not funny.”
Kieran could hear Zack grinding his teeth. “I wasn’t laughing at you. But I don’t
know what you want me to do.”
Kieran stroked the side of her neck and murmured nonsense until her breathing
evened. “Lie down, Eve.” It was a gamble. He didn’t want to upset her further, but he
hadn’t yet gotten what he’d come for. “Do it, love.”

She seemed almost relieved as she lifted slowly away from him and relaxed back
against the bed. “I don’t want you to go, Zack. I’m just feeling… a little stupid. And it’s
making me mean. I’m sorry.”
The tense line of Zack’s shoulders relaxed. “It’s all right.” He cast a quizzical
look at Kieran. “What do you have in mind?”
He smiled and nodded to the cabinet at Zack’s side. “Are there any restraints in
that thing?”
Eve sucked in a breath next to him, her sudden excitement impossible to miss
with her racing heartbeat echoing in his ears. Zack must have heard it, as well, because
he grinned. “I like the way you think, Kieran.” He turned and opened the cabinet.
Kieran leaned down to kiss Eve as Zack rummaged through the cabinet.
“Anything you’re not okay with?”
“I just want you.” Her fingers curled around the back of his head and she kissed
him hard.
The bed dipped, and Kieran looked up to find Zack there with a set of fur-lined
leather cuffs. “Here.”
Kieran took them and kissed Eve again as he pulled her wrists above her head
and toward the decorative but functional iron loops extending from the headboard. He
buckled the cuffs around her wrists, trapping her.
He watched as she tested the restraints, a soft tug at first and then a jerk. He
knew the strength that existed in her deceptively slender arms, but the bed and cuffs
had been designed to hold stronger creatures than werewolves. The iron loops rattled a
little against the headboard but held fast, and Eve let out a soft moan and closed her
eyes.
He beckoned Zack with a look. He nodded and dropped his pants again, but left
his boxers on. He stretched out on the other side of Eve and caressed her arm and side.
“You’re in charge, Kieran,” Zack murmured. “What now?”
Kieran returned his smile and curled a hand around Eve’s hip. “Now we make
her forget about the dominance games.”

Zack doubted Kieran’s plan would work. He expected Eve to break out the safe
word as soon as he touched her again, but all she did when he pressed his lips to her
shoulder was suck in a breath and arch into his touch.
Kieran’s hand bumped against his, and Zack blazed a wet trail down to Eve’s
breast as Kieran kissed her again, swallowing the soft moan he felt rise up in her. She
jerked and trembled under their hands and mouths, her panting breaths loud in the
quiet room.
The power encased in her body flared with her next moan, spilling out in a
scalding wave that should have been a challenge. It had been the last time, a brittle,
defensive challenge that had annoyed him more than anything else. The hurt pride was
gone now, replaced by lust and need and the sort of confidence that made her an alpha
to begin with.
She tore her mouth from Kieran’s and issued a gasping command. “Fuck me,
Kieran.”
The look he flashed her was defiant, almost pleased. “No.”
For a second Zack thought she might get off on the denial alone. She growled
and arched her hips, and the iron loops rattled against the headboard again. “I want
you to fuck me.”
“When I’m ready, love.” He lowered his face to her neck and teased her with a
slight press of teeth.
Zack smiled against her skin. Even the power radiating off Eve couldn’t cow
Kieran, not this time. It seemed that this was what they’d both needed. He swiped his
tongue over her nipple and glanced up when Kieran moaned.
He was watching.
Zack smiled again and slid his fingers into the other man’s hair, pulling him
closer. He tilted his head in invitation and saw heat flare in Kieran’s eyes as his tongue
rasped over the firm swell of Eve’s breast to meet his.

This time Eve whimpered, low and desperate. “That is the hottest thing I have
ever seen.”
They both groaned in answer, their tongues twining around the stiff peak of her
breast. Then Kieran caught Zack’s hand and guided it down to Eve’s pussy. Their
fingers slid together for a moment, then Zack stroked her clit as Kieran pushed his
fingers inside her.
Eve cried out and bucked against their hands, and the power between them
tightened to painful arousal. “Fuck, make me come, please… please --”
Zack bit her instinctively, his teeth scraping over her nipple and Kieran’s tongue.
The other man growled and moved his fingers harder, the heel of his hand bumping
Zack’s fingers with every thrust.
She just kept begging, whispering broken words as she twisted into their touch
and shook on the edge of a climax that seemed just out of her reach.
Kieran rose and bit her lip, then rasped in her ear, “Come.”
“Yes…” Her eyes locked with Zack’s, silently begging for permission.
He leaned up and brushed his lips over her other ear. “Kieran told you to come,”
he whispered. “Do it, Eve.”
The tension in the room released as Eve dug her head back into the pillows and
screamed. She came long and hard, writhing between them in a way that ground her
hip against his cock.
He hardened even more when she collapsed with a whimper and Kieran
brushed a soft kiss over the damp hair at her temple and murmured a soft endearment.
Zack jerked his hand back as Kieran climbed over her, staring down into her eyes as he
thrust his cock into her.
She wrapped her long legs around Kieran’s waist and rocked up into him with a
desperate little noise. For a few seconds they were lost in their own world, gazes locked
as Kieran ground her hips down against the bed.
Surprisingly, it was Eve who turned to look at him, her tongue darting out to wet
her lower lip. “What about you?”
Moira Rogers

Even more surprisingly, he found himself reluctant to intrude on their
lovemaking. “I want to watch, remember?” He bent and nipped her earlobe. “No
laughing.”
* * *
Eve shuddered and turned her gaze back to Kieran, who stared down at her with
stark adoration. Her chest tightened as emotion rose in her, love mixed in with lust and
the desire to submit to him clashing with the need to challenge. It was that last need
which had tormented her for so long. She had to work so hard to repress it just to give
him some control during sex. But the need to issue orders was instinct, just as instinct
prompted Kieran to obey them without question, even when she didn’t necessarily
want him to.
But she didn’t need to fight it now. She let the soft growl work its way out of her
chest as she tightened her legs around him. “Hard and fast,” she demanded, knowing it
was the opposite of what he wanted.
“No,” he whispered with a soft smile. He drew back and filled her again, his
movements slow and deliberate.
It felt like magic. She closed her eyes and tilted her head back, relaxing into the
sheer lack of responsibility. When she spoke this time, it was a plea. “Talk to me. Tell
me what you want to do. What you’re going to do.” Because finally, finally you won’t just
do whatever I tell you to…
Kieran laughed low in his throat, the sound playful and rough. “You want us
both to fuck you, don’t you, Eve? You won’t say it, but you do.”
She hadn’t really thought about it, but the idea was arousing enough to drive a
whimper from her. “Do you want to?”
He stroked his hands up her arms, all the way to the leather shackles binding her
wrists. “I want to.”
Eve fought a desperate groan. “How do you want to do it? Tell me. Tell me,
baby.”

He plunged into her once, hard and quick, then stilled with his hips pressed tight
against hers. “I want you to ride me while Zack fucks your ass.”
Maybe she should have felt guilty at the twist of pure need that accompanied his
words. It was dirty and wicked and the sort of thing she’d never imagined wanting…
But God, it would be good.
Her eyes drifted open and she stared up at Kieran, lost in the heat in his gaze.
“Yes. I want that. I want it a lot.”
Kieran resumed his slow, easy rhythm, and Eve heard the soft snick of a lighter.
She and Kieran had been so wrapped up in each other they hadn’t noticed Zack
crossing the room and lighting a cigarette. Now he sat in a second chair by the bed,
watching them and stroking his cock.
She licked her lips and met his eyes. “Do you want to do it?”
He drew on his cigarette and smiled as he exhaled. “If I fuck you again, I want us
both inside you. I want to get you both off.”
Eve watched his hand as it smoothed up the length of his cock and shivered
before she looked back to Kieran and arched her hips into his next thrust. “He wants to
get us both off.”
The easy roll of Kieran’s hips stuttered even as he groaned. “So do I.”
“Then take me,” she whispered, curling her fingers into fists. She closed her eyes
and tilted her head back and gave in to the persistent pleasure. “Take me, Kieran. Make
us both crazy. Make us both come.”
He growled against her jaw, his muscles taut and straining. Eve heard Zack’s
breath hitch from across the room, then everything faded as Kieran let go, pounding
into her with abandon. It was hard and out of control, and at another time it might have
been too much. But every hard thrust pushed her closer to oblivion.
Orgasm slammed into her without warning, and the wolf inside gave in to the
pure masculine strength in Kieran’s lean body. For the first time in five years she let go
of everything and let Kieran drive her into limp, exhausted satisfaction.

He collapsed on her, but she barely felt his weight before he rolled away,
nuzzling his face into her neck as he panted. “You need to rest now.”
Eve tugged at the cuffs with a sleepy frown. “Untie me?”
“Mmm.” He unbuckled the leather cuffs and rubbed at her wrists and arms. “I
love you, Eve.”
It took all of her energy to roll onto her side and settle her head on his shoulder.
“Love you, too. Sleep now. More hot dirty sex later.”
He laughed. “Yes, love. More dirty sex later.”
Chapter Three
Kieran took the cigarette Zack offered and bit back the question he longed to ask.
After several minutes of both of them listening to Eve’s slow, steady breathing,
Zack finally spoke. “Go ahead. Ask.”
Kieran couldn’t quite bring himself to be shocked. “I guess we’re both great
observers of human nature.” He rose and crossed to the small liquor cabinet that served
as a bar. “Whiskey?”
“A double.” He still stared broodingly at Eve.
Kieran cleared his throat as he filled a highball glass with a generous measure of
liquor. “Who is she?”
Zack arched an eyebrow. “You don’t fuck around, do you?”
“You told me to ask,” Kieran reminded him lightly as he passed him the
deceptively sturdy crystal glass. “And you seem terribly envious of me, but not overly
covetous of my girlfriend’s ass.” He sat down and took another drag from his bummed
cigarette. “So who is she?”
Zack drained half of the whiskey before answering. “Her name is --” He bit off
the words and finished his drink. “She’s a social worker. I met her on the job. Didn’t
think much of it, really. Then she moved into my building.”
“Mmm. A case of familiarity breeding anything but contempt.” Kieran clucked
his tongue and sipped his own whiskey. “Is she taken?”
“Worse.” Zack’s expression grew stormier. “She’s human.”
It explained so much, from his emotional detachment to his apparent envy.
“That’s a rough hand. How’re you going to play it?”
Zack’s gaze snapped to his, confused and a little alarmed. “What do you mean?”
Moira Rogers

“I mean…” He stretched his legs out in front of him. “What are you going to do
about it?”
“I’m going to stay the fuck away from her.” Zack walked to the liquor cabinet
and refilled his glass. “I’ve got enough on my conscience without adding the fact that I
broke some sweet little thing in half because I couldn’t keep my hands to myself.”
“‘But true love is a durable fire’,” Kieran quoted, swirling the whiskey in his
glass, “‘In the mind ever burning’.”
Zack’s glare turned murderous. “I may not be as educated as you, but I know
what I’m doing.”
“Of course. Forgive me.”
Eve made a sleepy noise of protest. “No fighting.”
“Not fighting, love.” Kieran winked at Zack and finished his cigarette. “I quoted
Raleigh at our friend here in a most pretentious fashion, so he told me what a snobbish
twat I am, and to mind my own business.”
“That is fighting,” she mumbled, her voice muffled by the pillow. “And you
started it.”
“A thousand apologies, then.”
Zack just shrugged. “I asked for it. Besides, a man’s got a right to be curious.”
Eve rolled over and propped herself up on her elbows, studying them both from
beneath the tousled fall of her hair. “How on earth does curiosity equal quoting
Raleigh?”
“Our friend here has a secret.” It was a risk, and Kieran knew Zack might think
he was making light of his predicament. But he and Eve weren’t the only ones who’d
come to Last Call because they needed something. “A woman.”
“A woman?” Eve had never been the judge of human nature that he was, and the
puzzled frown that tugged at her lips was downright adorable. He could almost see the
gears rumbling in her head as she pondered the possibilities, then discarded them all
with a tiny shrug. Her dark eyes fixed on Zack, looking completely serious. “What do
you need?”
Moira Rogers
Last Call: Tequila Sunrise

“I don’t need anything,” he rasped.
Kieran shook his head. “We can’t give him what he needs, Eve. All we can do…”
He ran a hand over Zack’s bare back, surprised by the thrill of desire that heated his
own blood. “All we can do is satisfy the wolf.”
“I know.” Her voice was low, husky and deliciously wicked as she repeated the
same words, this time infused with a world of promise. “What do you need?”
“I need…” He shuddered under Kieran’s hand. “I need to be who I am. What I
am.”
Eve sat up slowly, letting the sheet slip to her waist as she reached up and caught
Kieran’s hand. Her eyes found his and she smiled as she guided his hand slowly up and
over Zack’s shoulder, then down, skating over the planes of his chest. Their fingers
twined together as she coaxed his hand lower, over the tense, trembling muscles of
Zack’s abdomen and finally the hard shaft of his cock. The sound he made was half
groan, half growl.
They stroked him once, together, before Eve wet her lips and leaned forward to
brush them over Zack’s shoulder. “I’m strong enough to take anything you can give
me,” she whispered, her gaze still fixed on Kieran’s. He watched as her tongue snuck
out to taste the other man’s flesh and she squeezed her hand, forcing their fingers
tighter around Zack’s cock. “And Kieran’s so hot when he begs.”
Kieran kept his gaze on hers and followed suit, drawing his tongue over the side
of Zack’s neck. “Eve does it all the time. Teases me until I lose my mind.” Zack’s pulse
pounded even harder, and he groaned again. “You could tease us both now, love.
Couldn’t you?”
Her laughter curled around them both. “Baby, I think you should check out that
cabinet. Find some lube. And a vibrator. If I’m going to tease an alpha werewolf until he
loses his mind, you’re going to make sure I’m ready and begging for it by the time he
fucks me.”
She’d reverted right back to alpha form, but Kieran only smiled and moved to
obey. “Yes, ma’am.”

Zack growled. “We’re getting things a little backwards here…”
“So stop me.”
“I…” His voice failed, and he frowned. “I don’t want to.”
Kieran pulled open the cabinet and sorted through the numerous toys and
accessories. “You heard the man, Eve.”
* * *
Zack’s frown deepened as Eve stroked her hand along his cock again, her touch
light and gentle. “When’s the last time someone took care of your needs?”
How long had it been? He couldn’t remember. “I don’t do a lot of socializing.
And I don’t have a -- a pack…” His words trailed off as his cock jerked in her hand. “I
don’t know.”
Wet heat enveloped his earlobe, followed by the sting of teeth. “I’m going to give
you one hell of a blowjob, but you have to decide if you want to lie back and enjoy it, or
help Kieran get me ready for how hard I want you to fuck me.”
Her words and touch sent soft shivers up his spine, magnified by Kieran’s quiet,
aroused laugh. “I’ll help him. If you can take it.”
“We’ll see, won’t we?” She slid her hand up to the middle of his chest and
pushed slightly, urging him back on the bed. Once he was settled she grinned at him
and moved to straddle his chest, wiggling her hips enticingly as she bent over and set to
work on his cock with her mouth.
Zack arched into Eve’s mouth as Kieran came back to the bed, one knee pressing
into the mattress. He hummed approvingly and ran his hand down her back and over
her ass. “Bad girl,” he laughed, then smiled at Zack and offered his hand.
He took it and placed it high on the curve of Eve’s ass. “Tell me what she likes.”
Zack and Eve both moaned when Kieran leaned down to answer. “Put your
tongue in her pussy.”
When he lifted his head and drew his tongue around the slick wetness of her
inner lips, she groaned and wiggled closer, straining into his touch greedily.

He felt Kieran’s fingers brush his face as they slipped between them to ply Eve’s
clit. She moaned again, the sound vibrating over his cock, and he thrust into the depths
of her mouth.
She lifted her head after a few more seconds and panted for breath. “I need it,
Kieran… please. Sh-show him --”
“Yes, darling.” He urged Zack’s head back and raised the small bottle of lube
he’d fetched from the cabinet. Zack watched, fascinated, as Kieran warmed the liquid in
his palm, then slicked it between her ass cheeks, lingering until she gasped.
Kieran didn’t have to tell him what to do next. Zack lifted the slim vibrator and
stroked it over her slippery skin. “Yes?”
Her quiet moan as she returned her mouth to his cock was answer enough.
Kieran rubbed her clit with his thumb and watched as Zack prodded her ass with the
vibrator, pressing it inside, slowly and gently. She tensed a little at first, but soon she
was rocking back, her whimpers vibrating against him every time he worked the slim
silver toy inside her.
When Kieran stilled his hand, Zack growled and flicked the base with his thumb
to turn it on. It began to vibrate, and Kieran licked a path up Eve’s back as she lifted her
head and cried out.
He felt her panting breaths against his cock before she dropped her head and bit
his thigh, muffling another sharp noise against his skin. A moment later, he heard
Kieran and Eve kissing, then felt both their mouths on his cock. He groaned and thrust
his fingers inside Eve’s pussy as he rasped an order. “Don’t stop. Either of you.”
They didn’t. One mouth slid over the tip of his cock, hot and wet, but it was
impossible to tell whose it was until he heard Eve’s murmured, breathless
encouragement in between soft licks of his shaft. “Suck him, baby. God, he’s fucking me
so good, so deep. Just like you showed him, just like I like it.”
Kieran drew him deeper with a soft groan, and Zack arched up to their mouths.
He couldn’t hold out for much longer, not under the twin assault of two people
determined to make him come. “Fuck. Fuck.”
Moira Rogers

“Stop --” It was Eve’s voice, hoarse and shaking. “I want to fuck you. I want to
fuck both of you.”
Zack pulled the vibrator away carefully and tossed it on the bed. It took him a
moment to catch his breath, then he rasped. “Sit on the edge of the bed, Kieran, with
Eve on top of you.” The only thing in his mind was release, for all three of them.
“Now.”
* * *
Eve had forgotten all of the deeply reasoned justifications for why she was here,
crawling into her boyfriend’s lap while a strange man watched. Her legs trembled as
her knees hit the bed on either side of Kieran’s hips. She clutched at his shoulders and
lifted her body, so hungry for him that she whimpered. “Help me, please.”
Kieran growled and gripped her hips, lifting her until he could thrust his cock
into her pussy. Then he lay back with a groan, bringing her with him. “It’s going to feel
so fucking good when you come, love.”
“I’m going to ride you,” she whispered, bracing her hands on either side of his
head. “And you’re going to watch Zack ride me.”
Zack stepped up, his slick hands massaging her ass. The head of his cock was
bigger than the vibrator had been, and he hissed in a breath. “Stop me or tell me to slow
down or something --”
“I can take it.” She curled her hands in the blanket and ground down against
Kieran until the base of his shaft rubbed against her clit. The pleasure shook through
her body, making it easy to rock back and force Zack deeper. She wanted this, wanted
to be overwhelmed and ridden, fast and maybe a little too hard.
When Zack didn’t thrust all the way into her, she growled and whipped her head
around, not bothering to stop the giddy flood of power that spilled from her along with
her challenging words. “I can take anything you can give me, so fuck me already.”
He tugged her head back with a low growl and slapped her ass with his other
hand. “If you ask nicely.”
Moira Rogers

She groaned as heat spread through her, illicit and all the better for it. “Should I
ask nicely, Kieran?”
He gritted his teeth and arched a little, his eyes gleaming. “I think you should
beg, Eve.”
Begging was on the schedule, but Eve had no intention of giving in so soon. Zack
needed the challenge, the triumph, as much as she needed the chance to surrender. “I
think he should make me beg.”
A heartbeat passed, and Zack thrust into her -- hard. The brief discomfort gave
way to pleasure when his hips pushed her down against Kieran again, who lifted a
hand to pinch her nipple lightly.
She moaned and squeezed her eyes shut. “Fuck me, Zack. Fuck us.”
She’d have bruises from the way he gripped her hips, but she didn’t care,
especially when he and Kieran began to move against her, back and forth, a rocking
grind that had her digging her teeth into her lip.
Kieran shook and moaned. “You’re beautiful, Eve. You feel so good.”
“So do you,” she panted, forcing her eyes open again. She stared down at Kieran,
her gaze caressing the familiar planes of his face as the pleasure twisted tighter. “I
needed this so bad, baby. I needed…”
“I know,” he choked. “Me too, love.”
Zack leaned over her and bit the back of her shoulder. “You’re both fucking hot.”
Her head slammed back into Zack’s shoulder and she cried out, the last shreds of
concentration lost in primal pleasure. She was surrounded by the strong, masculine
scent of male wolves and the feeling of their power, a gentle warmth from Kieran that
steadied her against the blaze of Zack’s strength.
The contrasting sensations were the best part. Kieran’s gentle hands on her body,
coaxing as he rocked up into her. Zack’s firm grip on her hair as he pulled her head
back and bit her again, demanding her surrender. They’d found some sort of rocking
rhythm, Zack pushing into her ass with firm thrusts that forced her down into Kieran’s

grinding advances. It was slow and intense, and Eve knew that when she came, it
would be hard and long and so good she might not be able to take it.
And she loved every second of it.
Zack reached past her to grab Kieran’s hair, dragging his head back to bare the
strong line of his throat. “Bite him, Eve,” he whispered hoarsely. “Make him come.”
She whimpered and licked the pounding pulse in Kieran’s throat. “Mine. Mine.”
Her teeth closed on his skin and satisfaction rose up, pushing her over the edge.
He bucked up, thrusting hard and gritting his teeth as he came, his cock pulsing
inside her. She released Kieran long enough to scream as climax tore through her, then
set her teeth in his shoulder again.
Zack slammed into her as he came, a tortured groan spilling out of him. His nails
bit into her hip, and the other hand pulled Kieran’s hair hard enough to jerk his head to
one side. Zack’s hips pressed her down, ground her clit against Kieran until she came
again, wild enough that her toes curled and the quilt under her hands gave way with a
sharp rip. Her body tightened, clenching around the cocks that filled her until both men
groaned in unison.
Zack rolled away, bringing both Eve and Kieran onto their sides, and they
collapsed in a heap on the bed, panting and still shuddering. Eve curled her arms
around Kieran’s body and pulled him closer as she relaxed back against Zack’s solid
form. She had no idea how long they lay in a tangle of arms and legs, the room filled
with the sound of pounding hearts and shallow breaths. Minutes, hours… It didn’t
matter. She closed her eyes and floated on the joy, surrounded by warm skin and the
feeling of being safe and cared for.
The man at her back moved, leaving Eve and Kieran curled around each other on
the bed. When she looked up long minutes later, Zack had already dressed. “I need to
go,” he said quietly, buckling his belt.
Sympathy rose in her. “You don’t have to. You could rest…”
He shook his head as Kieran rose on one elbow. “I really do have to go. Early day
at work tomorrow. Lots of paperwork.”

Kieran hummed quietly and stroked Eve’s hair. “Thank you, Zack.”
“Thank you,” she echoed in a whisper. “I hope things get better for you, Zack.”
He hesitated and then smiled as he smoothed his shirt down. “They already
have, Eve.” He ran his hands over his hair and sighed. “I’d say I’ll see you two around,
but I think I probably won’t.”
“If you need to find us…” She laughed. “Well, you’re a detective. And Kieran’s
sort of famous. If you ever need anything, just call.”
“The owner knows how to reach me, too,” he said softly. “You know, if you need
anything.”
Kieran raised a hand. “Good luck, Romeo, with your star-crossed Juliet.”
Zack snorted even through his smile. “You remember they both died, don’t you,
smart guy?”
He laughed. “So do it differently. Do it smarter.”
“Not a tragedy. Got it.” Zack waved even as he walked toward the door. “Take
care.”
When he was gone Eve curled back around Kieran’s body and sighed. “What is
she? Human?”
“Indeed.” He stroked her shoulder. “Makes you feel lucky, doesn’t it?”
“I always feel lucky, Kieran. Tonight more than ever.” She lifted her hand and
brushed his hair away from his forehead before moving to cup his cheek. “I don’t need
this all the time. I’d just be happy if you told me no once in a while. I can’t help the
bossiness. When I get riled up the wolf comes to the surface, and she’s like that. But you
can tell me no. I want you to tell me no sometimes.”
“I’ll try, love.” The corner of his mouth quirked up in a soft smile. “It’s damn
hard to do, though. And not because of the alpha thing. I want you to have everything
you want.”
She traced her thumb over his lip, smiling when he pressed a soft kiss to it.
“Then how about we buy or steal some of these magical handcuffs, and you can tie me

“That’s the best damn idea I’ve heard all week.” He kissed her softly, lingering

“Your wish is my command, love.”
