Little Green Monster Toddler Beanie

What you'll need:

Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight (4) Yarn in Paddy Green
Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight (4) Yarn in White
Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight (4) Yarn in Black
Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight (4) Yarn in Cherry Red
Size H Hook
Yarn Needle
Small amount of poly fill

Abbreviation for stitches used:

Ch = Chain
HDC = half double crochet
SC = Single Crochet
SC DEC = Single crochet decrease

The Hat:

Round 1: Ch 2, 11 hdc in second stitch from hook. Join at the top of the ch 2 at the

beginning of the round.
Round 2: ch1, 2 hdc in each stitch around. Join at the top of ch 1 at the beginning of the
round.
Round 3: ch1, 2 hdc in first st, 1 hdc in the next. Continue around. Join at the top of the
ch 1 at the beginning of the round.
Round 4: ch1, 2 hdc in first st, 1 hdc in the next 2. Continue around. Join at the top of
the ch 1 at the beginning of the round.
Round 5: ch1, 2 hdc in first st, 1 hdc in the next 3. Continue around. Join at the top of
the ch 1 at the beginningof the round.
Round 6: ch1, 2 hdc in first st, 1 hdc in the next 4. Continue around. Join at the top of
the ch 1 at the beginning of the round.
Rounds 7-17: ch1, 1 hdc in each around. Join at the top of the ch 1 at the beginning of
the round.
Rounds 18-19: ch 1, single crochet around. Join at the beginning of the ch 1 at the
beginning of the round.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Now for the face.

Eyes:
Make two.

With the black yarn:

Round 1: Ch 2. 8 hdc in the second ch from hook. Join to the first hdc and fasten off.
Round 2: Join the white yarn. Ch 1, 2 hdc around. Join at the top of the ch 1 at the
beginning of the round.
Round 3: Ch 1, 2 hdc in the first st, 1 hdc in the next. Continue around. Join at the end
of the top of the ch 1 at the beginning of the round. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Eyebrows:
Make two.
With the black yarn:

Ch 10. SC in the second ch from the hook and in each ch across. Fasten off and weave in
ends.

Mouth:
With the red:
Ch 15. SC in the second ch from the hook and in each ch across. Fasten off and weave in

ends.
Join the white yarn in the second stitch from the right.Ch 1. SC in the next 2 stitches.
Ch 1, turn. SC across for a total of 3 SC. (You're going to put one SC into the chain when
you joined in the beginning. Ch 1, turn. SC DEC. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Join the white yarn in the fourth stitch from the left.Ch 1. SC in the next 2 stitches. Ch
1, turn. SC across for a total of 3 SC. (Again, you're going to put one SC into the chain
when you joined in the beginning. Ch 1, turn. SC DEC. Fasten off and weave in ends.

It's fine if your two “teeth” don't match...he's a MONSTER!!! LOL

Horns:
Make two. These are worked in continuous rounds, not joined, so either use stitch
markers or just count. I've put the total number of stitches at the end of each round to
help you out.

Ch 2
Round 1: Work 4 sc into 2nd ch from hook (4)
Round 2: Sc in 1st stitch,*2 sc in next, sc in next stitch* repeat from *to* till end of
round. (6)
Round 3: Sc in 1st 2 stitches,*2 sc in next, sc in next 2 stitches* repeat from *to* till
end of round. (8)
Round 4: Sc in 1st 3 stitches,*2 sc in next, sc in next 3 stitches* repeat from *to* till
end of round. (10)
Round 5: Sc in 1st 4 stitches,*2 sc in next, sc in next 4 stitches* repeat from *to* till
end of round. (12)
Rounds 6-8: SC in 1st and each stitch around (12).
Fasten off and weave in ends

Assembly:

Whipstitch each of the facial features (eyebrows, eyes and mouth). I angled my
eyebrows. For the horns, put some poly fill in each so it retains it's shape. Stitch to the
top of the hat.
