(the backstairs paintworn and croaking 8 or...9...10...the hedges are
untrimmed and dripping on amps pushed through...Matt’s worried about
damage...and harmonies...Pierce is still looking at the bottom of the
espresso cup the crema stains looking for a map there like throwing
bones...and the commuter train comes screaming into town or the
borrowed car no that’s Scott’s car but it never looks familiar...Scott has
coffee too but no crema and a new haircut sharp as a blade of
grass...someone was talking about narrowing the distance between the
ordinary and the extraordinary..."this is the world have faith"...and that
could be Black Sabbath grinding through near shut windows as Jack though
the last to join is the first to arrive...it’s surprisingly warm for this time of
year...)
Hi fellas...
(or the car, crackled and old enough to drink...who's in the back...Pierce's
brought a record that doesn't get played...from feed-corn fields to the
commuter cul-de-sacs and on through the subdivisions...“this all used to be
farms” stops here...the vernacular fades away and then returns, row
houses and condos where warehouses used to be...there's a bridge, a
tunnel, some water crossing...“o you who turn the wheel and look to
windward”...and this is the place, have faith...)
Check...
(or two rooms with seemingly dozens of lamps but no light to speak of...all
LED’s and a pedal bass and a picture of Bob Dylan taped to one door...this
is where it starts again or starts to get really good anyhow...Scott brings a
new bass line and it bounces off the walls like mercury...they’ve been
waiting without knowing that they’ve been waiting...listening without
knowing what to listen for..."this is just to say I have eaten the
plums...forgive me...they were...so sweet and so cold"...1-2-3-4-1-2...)
