Activating Garmin Mobile XT
You can use Garmin Mobile XT with the GPS turned on or off. However, some features may not work properly with
the GPS turned off.
To activate the GPS:
1. Make sure your phone is set up to accept Bluetooth wireless connections.
2. Turn on your Garmin GPS device.
3. Select the Garmin Mobile XT icon from the main menu on your phone.
To receive satellite signals, you must be outdoors or in a vehicle and have
a clear view of the sky. If the GPS does not acquire satellites within a few
minutes, see Setting Your Location or
Troubleshooting for more information.
To view information about GPS satellite reception, open the GPS Information page. See
Viewing GPS Information for more information.
To conserve battery power, turn off the GPS when not in use.
