WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES

ThinkPad Presentation Director is a display configuration utility
for your ThinkPad computer that enables you to create, manage, and
use presentation and display schemes. You can access these schemes
through an on-screen display menu that is shown when you press the
Fn + F7 key combination on your keyboard (Fn+F7 on-screen function).

If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing)
this package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand
functions as noted below.

For additional required packages, refer to "NOTES" section.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED

1. Start Presentation Director.
2. Click "New Scheme..." button on "Manage Presentation Director
Settings" screen to display Presentation Director Wizard first
page.
3. You will see the version information on the screen.

NOTES

- You will also need to install the following packages to enable
Fn+F7 on-screen function.

- ThinkPad Power Management Driver Version 1.21 or later.
- ThinkPad On Screen Display Version 3.00 or later. This program is
included in IBM ThinkPad Hotkey Features package Version 1.02.0271
or later.

- If you already installed "Utility package" Version 1.24 or earlier,
it is recommended to upgrade the following packages.

- ThinkPad Configuration package Version 1.30 or later.
- ThinkPad Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management Features package
Version 1.30 or later.
- ThinkPad EasyEject Utility Version 1.30 or later.

- If you install a newer version after uninstalling previous version,
reboot the system after uninstallation.

- As for ThinkPad T23 system, it is required to upgrade the BIOS to
integrate Fn+F7 hot key function.

- BIOS Version 1.15 (1AET59WW) or later.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Note:
If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to
update the software. To determine if you should update the software,
refer to the Version Information section.


Manual Install

This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Explorer.

Downloading files
1. Click once on the underlined file name with the left mouse button.
Once this is done, a pop-up window will appear.
2. In this pop-up window, choose (using the left mouse button) the
directory you would like to download the file to and click the
"Save" button. A different window will appear and the download
will begin and complete without your assistance.
3. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a
message stating that the download completed successfully.
4. After being downloaded, the file will need to be extracted.

Extracting files
5. Locate the directory where the file was downloaded.
6. Locate the file that was just downloaded and double click it
using the left mouse button.
7. The file will begin to extract in the directory where the
downloaded file is located.

Install
8. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
9. Open an Explorer and locate the directory where the files were
extracted.
10. Double-click SETUP file.
11. Follow the instructions on the screen.
12. Restart the computer.


Unattended Install

This is for system administrators' use only.

- Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and expand the
files.
- At the command line, execute SETUP.EXE with the -S -SMS options.
Example: [Program Path]\SETUP.EXE -S -SMS
