PRZEDMOWA

”Workbook on English Grammar for Mechanical Engineering Students” jest

zbiorem  jedno  i  dwujęzycznych  ćwiczeń  do  nauki  języka  angielskiego  na  różnych
poziomach.  Skrypt  jest  przeznaczony  przede  wszystkim  dla  studentów  wydziału
mechanicznego szkół morskich, sądzimy jednak, iż może być również dużą pomocą w
odświeżeniu  i  usystematyzowaniu  znajomości  języka  angielskiego  przez  oficerów
mechaników pracujących zarówno u armatorów krajowych, jak i zagranicznych.

Zbiór ćwiczeń został podzielony na trzy części różniące się stopniem

zaawansowania. Część pierwsza – dwujęzyczna, przeznaczona jest dla studenta
początkującego lub po krótkim okresie nauki. Część druga – jednojęzyczna, pozwala
ś

redniozaawansowanemu studentowi na doskonalenie zdobytych już umiejętności.

Natomiast część trzecia – ostatnia, wymaga od studenta zaawansowanej wiedzy,
pozwalającej na dość precyzyjne przełożenie treści na język obcy.

Typ ćwiczeń zawartych w części pierwszej, oparty jest częściowo na

stosowanych już podręcznikach S. Kaczmarskiego, takich jak ”Verb Forms in Bilingual
Exercises and Tests”. Ćwiczenia w części drugiej wzorują się na typowych ćwiczeniach
gramatycznych, spotykanych u wielu autorów, np. A. J. Thompson, A. V. Martinet
”A  Practical  English  Grammar”.  Ćwiczenia  części  trzeciej  prezentują  przykłady  zdań,
które można spotkać na egzaminach na kolejne stopnie oficerskie.

Mamy nadzieję, że niniejszy skrypt pozwoli wypełnić lukę istniejącą dotychczas

na  rynku  podręczników  do  nauki  języka  angielskiego  w  szkołach  morskich.  Od
długiego  czasu  sygnalizowane  było  zarówno  przez  uczących  się,  jak  i  nauczycieli
zapotrzebowanie  na  ćwiczenia  gramatyczne  oparte  na  słownictwie  typowym  dla
zawodu  mechanika  okrętowego,  co  pozwalałoby  już  od  początku  nauki  na
wprowadzanie i przyswajanie na równi języka potocznego i zawodowego. Skrypt zatem
może  być  uzupełnieniem  każdego  podręcznika  stosowanego  przez  lektorów  jako
podstawa  przy  nauce  studentów  wydziału  mechanicznego.  Układ  skryptu  oraz  zakres
materiału  pozwala  zarówno  na  systematyczne  jak  i  selektywne  korzystanie  z  ćwiczeń,
według potrzeb studenta i uznania lektora.
