Various complaints on the radio navigation system RNS 850 and the dash insert.

• On vehicles without parking assistance (PDC; PR numbers 7X9 and 8A5) "Assistants" can be selected in the submenu. After the selection the

message „system not available“ appears.

•  Various complaints with AreaView.
•  Various complaints with RearAssist.
•  Various complaints with OPS (optical parking system).
•  Audio CDs cannot be copied on the internal hard disc (ripping); the record button is not greyed.
•  The menu "DynamicLightAssist" is shown although the system is not fitted.

•  In the dash insert the needle stops sporadically after the start.
•  In the dash insert the vehicle (e.g. open door etc./"Car outline") is shown for longer than a minute.
•  Lane changing assistant (SideAssist) and lane assistant are sporadically not available in the dash insert.
•  After switching off the radio navigation system RNS850 the driving recommendation stays in the dash insert.
•  The way point tour is not saved in way point mode.
•  Untypical designations of the service displays in the HMI menu field. Terms have been changed (e.g. "oil change" to "interval service" and

"maintenance" to "Inspection Service").

•  Hissing from the rear speakers (Dynaudio sound system) in radio operation.
•  Sporadic resets are possible when several announcements are made at the same time and consecutively.
•  Connection problems with various phones – see also the compatibility list on www.volkswagen-zubehoer.de.
•  The message "Volkswagen infotainment switched off" appears in the dash insert although the RNS850 is switched on.
•  When deleting a TV station from the list a second station is also deleted.
•  The TV operating bar appears unprompted.
•  Emergency calls are cut off while dialling.
•  The message "Missed calls" appears although there are no missed calls.
•  The message "Air conditioning cannot be operated“ appears unprompted.
•  Unintentional deleting of short cuts on phone screen.
•  The home address is sporadically not saved or not available.
•  The band designation is shown twice in the dash insert and does not match the band on the  screen of the radio/navigation system RNS 850.
•  Entry in airbag control unit refers to dash insert (data bus received error value). The airbag warning light is not on.
•  Turkish, Swedish, Czech, Polish and Arabic are not available.
•  The radio text function is lost after some time (bus silence).
•  Selection of last DVD changer audio source necessary.
•  The alternative frequency function (AF) is sporadically lost.
•  In DAB operation the radio stations change automatically.
•  In DAB operation radio stations are incorrectly shown.

• Status display for service and engine oil level has message "Interval service" instead of "Oil change service" (only vehicles from model year 2014 are

affected).

Update software of radio-navigation system RNS 850

Use the Update CD K00 5001 58 99 to install the new software package: HN+_EU/RDW_VW_K0775 according to the attached instructions.

The Update CD K00 5001 46 99 is no longer valid.

The Update CD is for the following units:

Only perform this software update, if the software version of the infotainment control unit (address code 5F) is under version 0816.

Software versions:

All radios with the following or lower software versions can be updated (if the software version of a system is higher, it will not be included in the update).

If a radio with part number 4F0 035 053 H/4F0 035 061 H and software version 0048 is fitted (see diagnosis protocol -> address code 56: SW part

number), this version is not updated, it stays on version 0048.

Some functions or displays may improve as a result of this software update.
