Beaded Trillium
This craft can be done with seed beads or the larger size “E” beads. Trilliums can be hung on a camp hat,
made into a tack pin or a pair of earrings. A craft for older Guides, Pathfinders and Senior Branches.
Materials per trillium:

3 yellow or gold beads

1 pair ear wires and plyers for earrings

18 white beads
C
flat tack pin and super glue (or jewellers
C
15 green beads
cement or 2-part epoxy) for tack pin
C
white beading thread and beading needle or
C
4" piece thin green ribbon and safety pin for
fine craft wire

Instructions for Basic Trillium:
C
cut 18" of beading thread or fine (26ga) craft
wire

To make a tack pin:
1 gold, 1 white, 1 gold, 1 white, 1 gold; go

separate the front and back of the pin; stick
through all the beads again to make a circle of
the sharp end of the pin in floral foam, foam
the 6 beads, leaving a 6" thread tail
rubber, etc.
C
go through the next white bead and snug the
C
clean the flat gluing surface of the tack pin
beads together
with rubbing alcohol

apply a coat of super glue to the flat surface
the next white bead in the center circle; repeat

center the trillium on top of the glue
until you have 3 white bead petals

set sit in the floral foam to dry (let dry for a

To make a hat craft:
top petal bead; snug the beads to form the

first leaf
ribbon

repeat to form 3 leaves

go through the leaf beads again to reinforce,

clip off the remaining thread
and tie the

thread the needle with the tail thread (the
ends in an
thread at the beginning of your trillium) and
overhand
weave into your trillium to secure; clip off the
knot
remaining thread

make a second trillium

carefully open the bottom loop in the ear wire
with the plyers, hook the beaded trillium on
through the white beads of one petal

close the loop with the plyers
