Chapter One

"I need you, Cis. Please, don't turn me away."
Cecily spun around in surprise, causing the
belt of her robe to loosen and expose a strip
of skin from her breast down to her navel.
"Nardo, what are you doing here? I thought
you were in the mines."

Renardo stepped forward, his dark brown
eyes glued to her exposed skin. "I know I
said I would give you time to adjust, and God
knows I've tried, but I need you now. I can't
wait any longer. Please, let me touch you.
Give me some of your warmth."

His intent stare caused her to look down.
When she saw how her robe was gaping, she
clutched the edges together, feeling her face
flame. Inwardly, she cursed her fair
complexion.

background image

"Nardo, I..." need more time, she wanted to
say, but the words stuck in her throat.

He stepped closer and reached for the sash,
pulling it loose. Her robe fell open to reveal
her nakedness beneath her. She hadn't
bothered clothing herself after her particle
bath because there was no one in the family
unit other than herself. She jumped as he
reached inside and placed his hands on her
waist.

"Please, Cis. Give me what I need. I promise,
I'll make it good for you."

It's not like I have a lot of choice, she glumly
acknowledged as he lifted her and placed her
on the 9

countertop. He placed his large, calloused
hands on her knees and spread her legs wide,
before pushing the robe off her shoulders, al-
lowing it to pool on the counter behind her.
She bit her lip, fighting to keep from cover-
ing herself and running from the room. She
didn't care what she'd agreed to do. This was
wrong, so very wrong.

"I need you, baby. Let me have you." He
groaned as though the sight of her nudity
caused him pain. He kissed her cheek and
worked his way down to her neck. His
breathing labored, revealing the depth of the
control he was exerting over himself. His
hand played with her sex, parting the lips,
and stroking her slit. As his mouth reached
her breast, one of his fingers pushed its way
inside. She was dry and instinctively
tightened against the intrusion. His gentle-
ness caused her to relax her sheath around
his probing finger. Her mind screamed for
her to push his hand away, but she mentally

13/159

background image

gritted her teeth and allowed him to touch
her however he pleased. Nardo might have a
legal right to the use of her body, but the law
couldn't make her respond. As he suckled
her right breast, he stroked in and out of her
sheath, preparing her for his penetration.
She felt her body moisten, responding to his
expertise, despite her reluctance.

He must have decided she was ready enough;
either that or he couldn't wait any longer. He
grabbed her hips and pulled her to the edge
of the counter. Then he reached for the
fastening of his form-fitting jumpsuit and
pulled it open all the way down to his crotch,
revealing a hard, muscled chest and 10

a light smattering of dark, coarse hair that
lead to his straining erection.

14/159

background image

Cecily tried not to look. Really, she did, but
sheer curiosity made her peek. He was
large—large and thick. She didn't go around
thinking about men's penises, Nardo's in
particular, but he was much larger than what
she would have expected. He pushed the suit
off his massive shoulders and allowed it to
fall to his hips. The suit was so snug; it
wouldn't fall any further unless he wanted it
to.

He took hold of his cock and guided it to her
entrance, rubbing it back and forth over the
opening. As much as she hated to admit it,
what he was doing felt good. Opening her
nether lips with one hand, he bent his knees
and thrust, sheathing his cock in one power-
ful lunge. She clutched his shoulders and bit
back a shriek of pain while her body tried to
adapt. She was not used to ones of his size.
She panted, waiting for the pressure to ease.
Cecily knew her nails must be digging into

15/159

background image

his skin, but she just couldn't force her grip
to release.

Nardo laid his forehead against hers, and a
lock of sable colored hair fell forward to
brush against the side of her face.

"I'm sorry. I'll try to go slow and give you
time to adjust." For Cecily's sake, he tried to
take it easy, but honestly didn't know if he
could. He'd been waiting for this moment a
long time. When the tension eased from her
body, he slowly withdrew until just the head
of his cock embedded inside. He tried to
glide back in just as slow, but now that he'd
gotten a taste of her heat, his baser instincts
took hold. He slammed back in to the hilt,
needing this connection with her. Then, 11

once again, slow withdrawal, forceful entry.
His knees were bent and his body angled in a
way that with each forward thrust, he
knocked against her back wall; with each ag-
onizingly slow withdraw, he rubbed against
her g-spot. Her pussy moistened and grew
wet, drenching his cock so that with each
withdrawal, it shimmered more with her
juices. He kept his forehead against hers,
watching as his cock penetrated her pussy,
enjoying the sight and the feel of it. He'd
known she'd be sweet. He also knew she was
holding back. She was enjoying what he was
doing to her, but she didn't want to. Time to
take control.

He upped the pace, withdrawing a little
faster each time before shoving back in. The
hands holding his shoulders began clutching
tighter. "Come on. Let go, baby. Give me a
taste of that sweet passion I know you're
holding inside."

17/159

background image

"No, no, no. You're getting what you wanted.
Don't ask for more." She shook her head and
closed her eyes, trying to shut him out.

"Yes, baby. Let go. You know you want to."
She just shook her head harder.

He held onto her hips, bracing her as he
shafted her harder and faster. He heard her
breathing catch as her resistance melted. Her
hips made little motions, arching into him to
receive his thrusts. Then she seemed to real-
ize what she was doing and stopped. The
hands holding him began pushing against
him, trying to push him away.

"Nardo, stop. Please. Don't do this to me."

"I have to, Cis. I have to make it good for
you, too." He grabbed the back of her head
and kissed her until she 12

18/159

stopped fighting him. He kissed her until she
couldn't breathe. When he released her
mouth, her head fell back as she gasped for
air. She stopped trying to push him away,
but he could tell she was still trying to main-
tain control of her response to him. He was
having none of it. He positioned her so with
each thrust he was pressing upward, against
the front wall of her sex, rubbing against a
hot spot. As his hips slammed into her, his
pelvis knocked against her clit in hopes of
sending shockwaves through her body. He
could tell the moment she lost the battle to
keep her mind separated from what was go-
ing on in her body. Her legs lifted and
wrapped around his hips. Whimpers came
from her throat and escalated into a scream
as she arched into him, her body convulsing
as the orgasm swept through her. Renardo
swept her off the counter and onto the table.
He pressed her back, covering her body as he

19/159

background image

powered into her, no longer needing to hold
back. Her legs were still wrapped around his
waist, giving him the liberty to move as he
desired. He slammed into her until he began
to buck, orgasming in a powerful wave.

He lay with his head pressed against her
neck, breathing heavy as he tried to recover.
He'd come but was nowhere near satisfied.
He'd wanted her for a long time, and he had
a lot of catching up to do now that he had a
legal right to her body. Straightening, he
glided his hands over her breasts and down
her stomach until he was standing straight.
His cock, still deeply embedded, hardened.
The table was just high enough that she lay
at the perfect angle. 13

by Zena Wynn

He watched as his cock glide slowly in and
out. He loved the sight of their meshed pubic
hair, his so dark, while hers was a fiery red.
He wondered what kind of child they would
create together. He looked at her face. Her
mouth was open slightly, her green eyes
dazed, and her curly, red hair fanned out
around her like a halo. Good, she was gain-
ing as much pleasure as he from their join-
ing. He knew she was a long way from ac-
cepting their union, but this was a start. He
lightly rubbed his hands over her, delighting
in the freedom to touch her as he pleased. He
stroked her nipples until they tightened into
hard buds. Later, he'd taste them again.
Right now, he didn't want anything to im-
pede his view of her.

Her arms lay relaxed beside her body, but
the hands were tightening into fists, betray-
ing the rising tension in her body. He was
going to imprint himself so deeply upon her
psyche that she would never consider

21/159

background image

denying him again. Her body would belong
to him, even though her heart belonged to
another.

He slid his finger down the centerline of her
body until he reached her mound. Gently, he
parted the hair around her clit until it was
open to his view. Her little bud was straight
and hard. He lightly rubbed against it, coax-
ing it out of its hood. He kept a slow and
steady pace with his cock while his finger
circled her clit, never applying pressure dir-
ectly to it. Her hips rose to meet each thrust.
Her internal muscles clutched at him, mak-
ing each withdrawal an exercise in patience.
Nardo wanted to slam into her again, driving
for his release, but first, he had to satisfy Ce-
cily. He rubbed his 14

by Zena Wynn

forefinger against the point where her skin
stretched tightly around his cock, dampening
it in the juices gathered there. Once his fin-
ger was wet, he brought it back to her clit
and spread her juice around, lubricating the
nub. He sped up the pace of his stroking, in
direct contrast to the languid motion of his
cock.

Her muscles tightened, one by one until,
with a silent scream, her back left the table
as she came again, the muscles of her cunt
spasming around him. He pressed her knees
back down to the table and shafted her hard,
driving for his own release. With a guttural
moan, his back arched as he drove in to the
hilt and held there as his body shot semen
directly into her hungry sex. Her pussy
tightened and released around him, draining
every drop of cum from his body.

Slowly the tension eased from his body, and
he stood there, his body still connected to

23/159

hers. A sound made him look up. Billy stood
in the doorway. Nardo knew what he saw.
His wife, Cecily, splayed out naked on the
table; Billy's brother, Nardo, between her
legs, their pubic hair meshed together, shiny
with the juices of their recent joining.

"I was wondering what was taking you so
long." At the sound of her husband's quiet
voice, Cecily's head snapped in that direc-
tion. Her hands shot up to cover her body;
one arm across her breasts and the other
over her pubic area. The tip of her fingers ac-
cidentally touched Nardo's penis, and she
snatched her hand back as if she'd been
burned, then glanced longingly at her robe,
still on the counter. Although she knew she'd
done nothing wrong, it 15

by Zena Wynn

didn't stop her from feeling guilty. The feel of
Nardo sliding out of her body brought her
eyes back around to him.

"I had something that needed taking care of
before I returned," Nardo said calmly as he
shrugged his shoulders back into the
jumpsuit.

Cecily watched, unable to drag her eyes away
as he tucked his flaccid penis inside and
fastened his suit. The jumpsuits they wore
were protection from the conditions in the
mines, where both of the men worked.

When he was dressed, he took the hand she
had clutched against her stomach and
brought it to his mouth, pressing a soft kiss
to her palm. "Thank you," he mouthed. Then
he gave her body one last lingering look be-
fore turning back to his brother. "I'm fin-
ished, for now." Billy didn't react to his com-
ment. Instead, he walked over to Cecily,

25/159

background image

reached out to touch her check, pausing
when she flinched. "It's okay." He leaned for-
ward and kissed her gently, signaling that all
was well between them. As he raised his
head, he told her softly, "I'll see you when I
get off." Looking once more at Nardo, he
said, "Let's go. They're waiting for us. We're
moving to a new sector." She watched as they
both turned and walked out the door, won-
dering how her life had become this tangled
mess, although she knew very well how it
had happened. She thought back to that day,
four months ago, in the agent's office. She'd
been ecstatic. Billy had proposed, but
wouldn't let her answer until she knew what
she was endorsing.

"Ms. Ryan, has Mr. Mateo explained exactly
what you'll be agreeing to if you sign these
papers?" 16

The Contract

26/159

background image

by Zena Wynn

Billy sat forward in his seat. "I told her what
I knew from my brother Renardo, who's
already there, which isn't much. That's why I
brought her to you."

"I see." The agent rubbed his chin. "Very
well, then. Ms. Ryan. The Company requires
all of their miners to live in family groupings.
No singles allowed. It's common for three or
more brothers or close friends to share the
same family unit. All families live in units
that house a minimum of two, but no more
than three, families."

He pushed a button and a small, 3-D holovid
appeared above his desk, rotating for a view
from all angles. "As you can see, the quarters
are spacious, even though they are located
underground within the asteroid. Conditions
above ground, on the asteroid, are not con-
ducive to human living, so I hope you're not

27/159

background image

claustrophobic." Another push of the button
and the image changed to a surface view of
the asteroid. It looked harsh and forbidding
like some of Ancient Earth's desert waste-
lands before technology found away to re-
vitalize them.

"The Company expects their workers to
work, not spend their time socializing. There
are no clubs, bars, restaurants, stores, or
anything of that nature. The hours the
miners work are long and the labor is hard
and dangerous. Your husband, should you
marry him, will spend most of his time work-
ing or sleeping. You'll get whatever time and
attention he manages to squeeze in."

What about the other wives? Surely, I
wouldn't be the only non-miner on the as-
teroid
. Cecily desperately wanted to know
but was too afraid to ask.

17

28/159

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

"If you get there and decide you don't like it,
you won't be able to just return to Earth.
Travel to Earth is restricted to once a year,
unless there's an extreme emergency, and
The Company rarely classifies anything as an
emergency. If you do decide to leave, not
only will you void your contract but your
husband's as well. Neither of you will be al-
lowed to return."

They'd make Billy leave too? She turned
stricken eyes to Billy. He smiled reassuringly
and discreetly motioned for her to pay
attention.

"The population on Asteroid 4239 is small,
maybe 200

29/159

background image

people. Ninety-five percent of that popula-
tion consists of workers, including many of
the women. Other than those who share your
family unit, you'll rarely be in contact with
the others. In fact, The Company frowns on
socializing outside of the units. There is less
capacity for interpersonal conflicts that way.
Nothing that disrupts the workflow will be
tolerated, and that includes people who can't
get along. If you and your husband start hav-
ing problems, keep it to yourselves. Domestic
disturbances will not be tolerated either and
will result in immediate termination and
subsequent return to Earth." He paused and
took a breath. The holovid disappeared from
view.

"Do you understand the terms I've outlined
for you thus far?"

"Yes, sir." The restrictive environment he
was describing intimidated her a bit, but as

30/159

background image

long as she was with Billy, nothing else
mattered.

18

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

"Alright. Read over this contract and let me
know if you have any questions."

Cecily read until she reached a clause that
brought her to a screeching halt.

"Mr. Smith, am I reading this right? Does
this say that if Renardo's wife dies, he has
the option to claim me as his spouse?"

"Ah, yes, Section Four, paragraph three. I get
a lot of questions about that. Yes, that's ex-
actly what it says."

31/159

background image

"What! Let me see that." Billy snatched the
contract out of her hands.

"I don't understand. Why would you require
something like that?"

"It's simple really. It's intended to allow our
miners to continue working and not be
forced to leave the asteroid to find a replace-
ment wife, thereby, cutting down on produc-
tion. Besides which, most of our workers are
men. The Company recognizes that men
have certain, um, needs. Not having those
needs met can affect production, which af-
fects profits. We can't have men walking
around—forgive my frankness—

horny, overly aggressive, and starting con-
flicts because they're sexually deprived. It's
for this reason that other corporations allow
prostitution. The Company chose not to go
that route. Not only is it bad business, but it
had a negative impact on morale and caused

32/159

background image

more problems than it solved. Therefore, if a
miner loses his wife, he has the option of
sharing one of his units other wives, or he
can return to Earth. If there are no other
wives in the unit, the miner has no choice
but to return to Earth, although that rarely
19

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

happens. With most units filled to capacity,
and we have a long waiting list of men want-
ing to sign on." Cecily turned to Billy. "I can't
sign this. If I do, I'll be agreeing to marry
your brother if something happens."

"Mr. Smith, excuse us, please. I want to
speak to my fiancé outside."

"Be my guest."

33/159

background image

Billy pulled her out of the office and closed
the door.

"Cecily, please don't back out now. You have
nothing to worry about."

"Nothing to ... did you read what that thing
says?" She put her hands on her hips.

"Yes, but it will never happen. Even if by
chance something happened to Andrica,
Nardo would return to Earth before he tried
to claim you. I know he would."

"But what if you're wrong? I'd have two hus-
bands and no choice in the matter. God,
what if he wanted me to sleep with him?"
She pressed her hands against her cheeks,
horrified by the very thought of it. She was
still a virgin. As much as she loved Billy, she
had a hard time envisioning one lover, let
alone two.

34/159

background image

"Cecily." He shook her lightly to get her at-
tention. "You're over-reacting. Nardo would
never betray me like that. I know my broth-
er. Trust me, okay?"

She ran her hand through her hair. "I don't
know. This is nothing like I imagined. What
if I get there and can't handle it? I know it's
tough, but maybe we should just stay on
Earth." She had a bad feeling about the
whole thing. 20

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

Billy cupped her face with his hand. "Cecily,
do you love me?"

Her heart melted and she leaned her face in-
to his hand.

"Of course, I do."

35/159

background image

"Then trust me. Sign the papers. I won't let
anything bad happen. I promise."

This was what it all boiled down to; he was
determined to go. If she loved Billy and
wanted to be with him, she had to sign that
contract.

"Alright," she said with a sigh. Billy picked
her up and spun her around, laughing tri-
umphantly. "Let's sign those papers and go
get married. The next transport leaves in a
week." They spent the week after the wed-
ding running around, saying goodbye to fam-
ily and friends, and preparing to leave. The
month it took to travel was wonderful. Billy
had been so tender and patient, introducing
her to the joys of the marriage bed. They'd
spent most of their time in their cramped
quarters, learning each other.

The day they'd docked, Billy was so excited.
He hadn't seen his brother in almost two

36/159

background image

years. For the last three days, it had been
nothing but Nardo this, and Nardo that. If
she hadn't known how close the brothers
were, she might have been jealous.

When they cleared security, she stood back
and watched the reunion, not wanting to in-
trude. They greeted each other with a great
big bear hug, and with much back slapping,
play jabbing, and hair mussing, talked a mile
a minute while they 21

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

caught up on lost time. It took about ten
minutes before Billy remembered she was
there.

"Nardo, you have to meet the love of my life.
Cecily, come over her, sweetie." He held his
arm out to her. She stepped forward shyly

37/159

background image

with a big smile on her face, happy, simply
because Billy was.

Billy pulled her close to his side. "Cecily, this
lug is my big brother, Nardo. Nardo, this is
my wife, Cecily."

"Cecily, come here and give me a hug. Wel-
come to the family." Nardo pulled her into
his arms and gave her a brief, but complete,
hug before holding her at arm's length.
"Billy, where'd you find her? I'm jealous. If I
had been home when you met her, I'd have
given you a run for your money." Billy
laughed. "Glad you approve, bro. Give me
back my wife."

Cecily came back the present with a sigh. If
she'd known then what she knew now,
maybe things would be different. Two
months ago, everything changed. Andrica
died and Nardo had done the unthinkable.
He'd exercised his right to claim her as his

38/159

background image

wife. He'd agreed to give her time to adjust
before claiming his marital rights.

She'd been trying, but how do you wrap your
mind around having two husbands? Until
today, Billy had been her first and only lover.
She loved Billy, and she had never even
looked at another man with desire. The
whole idea of two men and one woman just
seemed wrong, yet here she was, caught in a
situation she'd neither expected nor planned.
She had to adjust her thinking and do it
quick. Nardo had been patient with her,
more than she deserved. She realized 22

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

now, instead of trying to adjust her mind to
her change in circumstance, she'd been try-
ing to avoid the whole issue, hoping that it
would never happen. Well it had, and now

39/159

background image

she had to deal with it, or this situation
would tear their whole family apart.

Chapter Two

Billy scrutinized his brother as they took the
transport down to Sector Seven, seething in-
wardly, though he had no one to blame but
himself. Cecily tried to warn him, but he'd
been so sure, so confident that Nardo would
never do anything like this that he'd pushed
her into signing the contract, sealing both
their fates. He was such a fool. Given the op-
portunity, who wouldn't want, Cecily?

His fists clenched as he remembered the look
of raw lust on Cecily's face, a look she'd never
had with him. Though he knew she found
pleasure in their lovemaking, he'd never
pushed her sexually, beyond what he felt she
could handle. He was always careful to keep
his own lust in check, taking the time to
build her arousal slowly so as not to upset
her delicate sensibilities. In the back of his
mind, he was always mindful of her

background image

innocence. His Cecily wasn't used to the
coarse ways of men.

The only thing keeping his sanity intact, his
only saving grace, was the hope the she had
pretended Nardo was him. It was possible.
They were similar enough in looks to be
twins: both possessed dark brown hair,
though Billy wore his a bit longer. They each
had brown eyes with flecks of gold in them,
and high cheekbones. In fact, the differences
between the two were slight. Nardo's lips
were fuller, and he stood a few inches taller.
Nardo's body was also leaner and harder, but
only because he'd been working in the mines
longer. 24

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

He wished Andrica were still alive. The wo-
man had been a major bitch, but as long as

42/159

background image

she was alive, Cecily belonged to him alone.
His whole world changed the night she died.
The brother he thought he knew so well
turned out to be a stranger, and his wife was
no longer exclusively his own. This job was
perfect, for him and his brothers. The money
they made mining ore for The Company was
good, paying better than anything they'd
earned on Earth. They couldn't afford to
mess this up. He shouldn't allow a little thing
like having to share his wife come between
him and his brother. Only, it wasn't a little
thing. It was a major thing. Cecily was his.
He was her first lover and he'd intended on
being her only. When he'd walked in and saw
his wife with Nardo, his first instinct had
been to rip him off her. Knowing he had to
share Cecily's body and actually seeing it
were two different things. The next few
months were going to be hell as they all ad-
justed to the changing dynamics in their
relationship.

Renardo could feel his brother staring at
him. Feel the anger in him. Billy didn't want
him touching Cecily and Nardo couldn't
blame him. She was one of a kind. God for-
give him, but he'd wanted her since he first
laid eyes on her as she stepped off the trans-
port. It hadn't mattered that he'd had a wife
of his own waiting for him back at the unit.
Andrica had been beautiful to look at, with
her long, lean body and waist-length, blonde
hair. Only, she was cold as ice, in and out of
bed. They'd put on a show of marital har-
mony for the all-seeing eyes of The Company
but it was a sham. 25

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

What they had was a business arrangement.
She'd come with him for the money she

44/159

could earn. Newcomers were teamed with
experienced miners, they'd rarely seen each
other, coming together only when the need
for sex got too strong, which was fine by him.

When he'd gotten his first glimpse of Cecily,
the blood rushed to his cock. He'd been em-
barrassed and hoped his brother hadn't no-
ticed. She was as short as Andrica was tall
and cute with her curly, red hair, round face
full of freckles, and her sweetly curved body.
All he could think of was holding those
curves in his arms while he pounded into
her. It didn't help that Cecily was as sweet as
she looked. She willingly stepped up to the
plate and took care of things in the unit,
spoiling them all with her care. She'd decor-
ated and turned their sterile environment in-
to a home. She laughingly said she wasn't
contributing anything to the family's income,
so the least she could do was make life as
comfortable as possible for those who did.

45/159

background image

Although the unit was computerized for con-
venience, there was a lot it couldn't do. For
instance: it couldn't clean. While it could
replicate any food item you requested, it
couldn't turn that food into an appetizing
meal. It could give you meat and bread, but
couldn't make a sandwich. Therefore, the
cooking and cleaning—Cecily did it so they
didn't have to. They worked in twelve-hour
shifts, and much of their off time spent
sleeping. The Company only allowed them
one day off per work cycle in order to keep
up with the rigid production schedule. With
the arrival of Cecily, that day could now be
26

spent resting and relaxing, instead of clean-
ing and taking care of household chores.

46/159

background image

It was wrong of him to want his brother's
wife as much as he did, and he knew it. No
matter how much trouble it caused between
them, when he'd seen his opportunity to
have her for himself, he'd seized it and
damned the consequences. He'd worked his
way into her body, now he would worm his
way into her heart. He wouldn't settle for
anything less. She'd won his heart in the
short time that she had been there. It was
only fair that he gained hers in return.

When Billy walked into the family unit, ten
hours later, he headed straight to Cecily and
pulled her off the couch. "Come with me."

"What about dinner?"

"Later."

47/159

background image

He pulled her into the bathing compartment
behind him and shut them in. Stripping both
of them swiftly, he pulled her into the
particle shower and crowded her against the
wall. Placing his hand over her heart, he
kissed her breathless.

"This belongs to me. Nardo may have access
to this," he moved his hand from her heart
and cupped her between her legs, "but your
love belongs to me." He kissed his way down
her body until his mouth was between her
legs. Knowing he was rushing her and prob-
ably scaring her with his intensity, he contin-
ued. He had to remove the image of her sex
cradling Nardo from his mind before he went
crazy. He licked and suckled her until she
was tugging 27

by Zena Wynn

on him and begging him to fill her. Then, he
rose to his feet and took her against the wall
in a frenzy. He fucked her until she screamed
out his name, then he fucked her some more.
He wanted there to be no doubt as to whose
cock was filling her pussy. There was a small
voice screaming in his head, " You're being
too rough
," but he couldn't stop. He drove
into her until the strength gave out in his
legs, and he sank to his knees, pulling her
with him and locking their hips together as
he pumped out his seed. Cecily kissed him
and stroked his head as he collapsed against
her. She was awed. He'd been wild, almost
out of control. Something he'd never done
before. Billy was a wonderful lover, but he
treated her like crytoplasma, a fragile sub-
stance easily bruised. He always held back,
being careful with her right up until the very
end when he couldn't help but let loose. See-
ing her with Nardo made him change. She

49/159

background image

was sure of it. She'd known this was going to
be hard on him, on all of them.

She felt his breath as Billy sighed deeply
against her neck, before slowly raising his
head. He looked more uncertain than she'd
ever seen him look before. "Are you okay? I
didn't mean to be so rough. God, if I hurt
you..."

"Shhh! I'm fine. You didn't hurt me. You
could never hurt me. What just happened..."
she blushed and forced herself to continue,
"I thought it was wonderful." He cupped her
check and searched her eyes. "So, you don't
think I'm a brute?"

"No." She murmured soft words of love and
reassurance to him while they held each oth-
er, reaffirming their love for one 28

another. When he indicated that he was
ready, she stood and gave him room to get to
his feet. Reaching around him, she turned on
the shower and stood still for the few
seconds that it took it to sanitize them.

When they exited the shower, she went to
the reproduction unit in the wall.

"Computer, give me a pair of loose
drawstring pants and a camisole top with
spaghetti straps."

"Color?"

"Black pants, white top."

"Generating."

When she was dressed, she told Billy, "I'll go
put dinner on the table."

51/159

background image

"Thanks. I'll be out as soon as I'm done." She
exited the bathing compartment while Billy
was dressing and headed for the kitchen,
humming a happy tune.

When she saw Nardo sitting in the living
room waiting, she hesitated then blushed.
This was the first time she'd seen him since
that morning. "Dinner will be ready shortly."
He looked at her hungrily before averting his
eyes. "Take your time."

She scuttled into the kitchen while thinking,
my brother-in- law saw me naked; touched
me intimately.
No, he wasn't her brother-in-
law, not any longer. Now he was her hus-
band. He had the right to see her and touch
her as he pleased. She had to remember that.

She fixed their plates and set the table. One
of the rules she'd established upon her ar-
rival here was that whenever possible, they

52/159

background image

ate together as a family. It was something
she 29

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

learned at home while growing up. This was
the first time she'd ever wished that they
hadn't given into her demands. They ate in
silence. Cecily was extremely uncomfortable,
especially when she remembered what
Nardo had done to her on this very table.
From the expression on Billy's face, she
wasn't the only one remembering, and he
wasn't happy about it. She glanced at Nardo
and found him watching her with heat in his
eyes. He was remembering too, and from the
looks of things, he was ready for a repeat
performance. Billy lingered at the table until
he was just picking at his food, obviously de-
termined not to leave her alone with Nardo.
Her man was jealous and she didn't know

53/159

background image

what to do about it. They couldn't continue
like this. They had to come to terms with
each other.

She got up from the table and placed her
dishes in the cleaning unit. Going back to the
table, she took Billy's plate from him, her
eyes daring him to voice the complaint she
could see forming on his lips. He settled back
with a sigh and let her have the rest of his
things. When she'd finished with Billy's, she
turned to Nardo. "You done here?" He lifted
his hands out of the way, settling back in his
seat with his drink in his hands. "Excellent
meal, as always. You take good care of us,
Cissy."

His praise was nothing new. Nardo always
voiced his appreciation for the things she did
around the house. Before, she'd brushed it
aside as nothing, though inwardly, she'd
preened at the recognition he gave for her
the small contribution to their household.

54/159

background image

Now, it made her uncomfortable, and for the
first time, she wondered if there 30

by Zena Wynn

was more to Nardo's decision than simple
convenience. He was always accusing her of
spoiling him and many times, had commen-
ted that he wished he'd have found her first.
Maybe he hadn't been joking as she'd always
believed. Uncomfortable with the direction
of her thoughts, she longed for the simple
days when Billy was her only husband and
Nardo was her new, loving, older brother.

"Thanks," she responded awkwardly, aware
that she'd been silent too long.

After clearing the table, she turned to her
husbands, determinedly. "Let's watch a
holovid. The Company just released two new

55/159

ones this week that sounded interesting. It's
a little too early to turn in." The men had el-
even hours before they returned to work.

The brothers got up from the table and went
into the common area, each one taking a love
seat. She lingered behind to fix a tray with
snacks and drinks before following them.
Placing the tray on the center console, there
was moment of confusion as each man pat-
ted the empty seat next to him and motioned
for her to come over. No matter which choice
she made, someone was going to be upset.
Looking around, she chose the least offensive
option and seated herself on one of the two
empty love seats remaining. She reached for
the remote, flipping channels until she
reached the one for holovids. "What are you
in the mood for, a comedy or action-
adventure?"

When neither one of the men answered, she
decided.

56/159

background image

"Action-adventure it is."

31

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

She made her selection, and a three dimen-
sional holograph came up from the table and
displayed the selected feature in the center of
the room. Although it was touch and go for a
while, the action eventually pulled them men
into the movie, and she was finally able to re-
lax. When the holovid was over, she collected
the dishes and put them in the kitchen for
cleaning. When she returned to the common
room, Billy held his hand out to her, and she
joined him to retire to their quarters.

"We need to discuss sleeping arrangements."
Nardo's words dropped like bombs, explod-
ing in the quiet of the room.

57/159

background image

Cecily and Billy froze. This was something
neither one of them had considered or ex-
pected. They slowly turned around. Nardo
was still seated, one leg thrown casually
across the arm of the chair, while one arm
rested along the back of the seat. The posi-
tion placed his straining erection on promin-
ent display.

"I'm not going to be relegated to the side. I
want equal rights and equal time. She's my
wife, too." Cecily placed a warning hand on
Billy's chest. The tension in his body was
telling. "What did you have in mind?"

"I want every other night."

"No," Billy said.

"Billy, please." Cecily tried to head off a fight.

"It's only fair," Nardo said reasonably.

58/159

background image

"No," Billy repeated.

"It's not your decision to make. Cecily?"
Nardo turned to her expectantly. She could
feel Billy watching her, silently 32

urging her to side with him. She desperately
wanted to, but in good conscious, couldn't.
Nardo was right; it was only fair. Looking at
Billy apologetically, she announced, "Nardo,
you can have Mondays, Wednesdays, and
Fridays. Billy you take Tuesdays, Thursdays,
and Saturdays. Sundays I keep for myself."

"Excellent planning. Today is Friday. That
means you sleep with me tonight." Nardo
stood and held out his hand. Cecily reluct-
antly left Billy's side and took it. She
whispered a solemn goodnight to Billy and

59/159

mouthed 'I love you' as Nardo led her from
the room.

Chapter Three

Nardo pulled her into his quarters and
closed the door.

"Finally, I have you all to myself. I've been
waiting, longing for this moment for a long
time."

Cecily snatched her hand away and wrapped
her arms around herself. "Why are you doing
this, Nardo?"

"Cissy, please don't be angry with me." He
went down on his knees before her.

She took a cautious step back. "I'm not
angry. I'm just trying to understand. I know
claiming me is convenient. In a way, it makes
perfect sense, and now you don't have to re-
turn to Earth. It's everything else I don't un-
derstand." He wrapped his arms around her

hips, pulling her closer to him. "Convenience
has nothing to do with it; it's you I want. It
was always about you. I tried to fight it. I saw
you get off the transport with Billy, looking
so fresh and lively, and I wanted you. I
wanted the affection you give so freely, for
myself. I want you to love me the way you
love Billy. I need you to love me the way I
love you. Please, don't shut me out; I need
you."

He loves me? Cecily closed her eyes. All this
time, when he'd been so friendly, so affec-
tionate, just like she thought a brother
should be, he'd secretly been in love with
her? Nardo was talking more than just his
need for sex. Sexual desire she could almost
understand, but this? This was the ultimate
betrayal. He wasn't supposed to love her, his
brother's wife. 34

The Contract

He just thinks he's in love with me. Prepared
to tell him just that, she looked at him star-
ing up at her so earnestly, and sighed. She
just didn't have the heart to say the words
that she knew would hurt him. Instead, she
stroked his hair back from his eyes then
cupped his jaw. "You're asking a lot of me. I
never knew you felt this way. I'm not sure
what to say."

"Don't say anything. Just give me a chance. I
don't want to take anything away from Billy.
You're a very loving woman. Surely, there's
enough love in your heart for me too." It
humbled her to see this strong man on his
knees before her, begging for her love. How
could it not touch her? How could she not at
least try to give him what he asked? Briefly,
she remembered Billy's words, "Your love
belongs to me."
This whole thing was such a
mess.

63/159

background image

"I can't give you promises. I already care
deeply for you. That's what's making this
whole situation so uncomfortable for me. I'll
try not to fight you."

"Thank you." He kissed her belly. When his
hand slid to her waist and pulled on her
pants until they dropped to her ankles, she
had to remind herself that she'd just prom-
ised not to resist him. He kissed her navel
and the tender area beneath. Then, sliding
his hands up her sides, he lifted her top and
pulled it over her head until she stood naked
before him.

"I love your body. It's so curvy. See how your
breasts fill my hands." He cupped her breasts
and rubbed his face against them.

35

The Contract

64/159

background image

Cecily's traitorous nipples pebbled, and
against her will, her back arched, pushing
her breasts deeper into his hands. It was one
thing to agree not to mentally resist his love-
making, but something totally different to
consciously participate.

"Your ass is so full. I want to part your
cheeks and watch as my cock slides in and
out of your pussy." He cupped her cheeks
and parted them in demonstration.

She shuddered, her mind providing the im-
age of her kneeling with her butt in the air,
and Nardo behind her, pumping in and out
of her sheath.

"Your thighs are soft, made for cradling a
man's hardness. Laying on Andrica was like
lying on a sack of bones. Your body was

65/159

background image

made for loving." He slid his hands down the
back of her thighs as he nuzzled her stomach.

Her hand rose of its own volition to stroke
his head and she snatched it away before it
could make contact.

"Give me your passion. Billy has your heart.
Let me, at least, have your passion." He
backed her up until her legs touched the bed.
He made her lie back as he settled between
her legs. Parting her thighs, he pulled her
forward until she was on the edge.

"Your pussy is so sweet. It felt so good. Let
me taste you and see if you taste as good as
you feel." He spread her nether lips, lowered
his mouth, and began to feast. "So good.
God, you're so good. I can't get enough of
you." He licked and ate her pussy until her
knees clamped tight around his head. He
pried them loose and held them down on the
bed.

66/159

background image

"Did you like that?"

36

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

"Yesss!"

"Good, because I want more."

Cecily forgot about Billy. Forgot about why
this was so wrong. She forgot about
everything but the feel of Nardo's mouth and
the fire he lit in her body. She clutched his
head and held him to her, mindless with de-
sire. Her moans became cries as she began to
beg. "Please." He ate her until her back
bowed off the bed and she screamed his
name. Rising over her, Nardo plunged his
cock inside and initiated a driving rhythm.
He gave her everything he had, taking her

67/159

background image

from one peak to another. He held back until
spots swam before his eyes, and still, he tried
to continue, wanting to give her every bit of
pleasure that he could. Finally, he could fight
it no more. His control broke, and he came,
and came, and came, crying out her name as
he clutched her to him.

When he came back to himself, Cecily lay
weeping beneath him. Hoping the tears were
the result of sensory overload and not
something else, he rolled until he was on his
back, and she was in his arms. He held her
until the crying stopped, stroking her back
soothingly until she fell asleep on his chest.
He hated being in the position of the supplic-
ant, but the truth was, he was on the outside
looking in. He could demand his rights as
husband, but that wouldn't win him Cecily's
heart. Nardo wished he knew how Billy man-
aged to win her love. Since he didn't, he'd
have to find his own way into her heart. One
thing was certain, he wasn't letting her go.

68/159

37

The Contract

Cecily bustled about preparing the men's
food for the day. Sending them off with a
hearty breakfast made her feel good. They
worked so hard that she always packed a
substantial lunch for them. She was nervous
facing Billy. Nardo had taken her again this
morning before she could make her escape
from his quarters. Now she had to face Billy
with the musky scent of Nardo's loving still
on her body. If she'd only been tolerating
Nardo's touch, her conscience wouldn't be
bothering her so much. She could assure her-
self that she was the victim in all of this and
was only doing what was necessary, but she
reveled in it. He was an exciting, demanding

69/159

background image

lover, one whose touch she was coming to
crave. Nardo treated her like a woman. He
demanded passion from her, would except
nothing less, and she was horrified to realize
she enjoyed every minute of it.

Earth had gone through a revival similar to
Ancient Earth's Victorian period. Men and
women alike held onto their virginity be-
cause no one wanted a return of Earth's dis-
ease ridden past. While nano-technology had
virtually eradicated all but the most virulent
of diseases and increased the life span of hu-
mans dramatically, humans still feared that
sexual excess would result in another devast-
ating plague like the one in the 22nd century.

A woman had one husband. Cecily had
waited and saved herself for that one man
and considered anything else as wrong.

Billy came into the kitchen and gave her a
searching look. She avoided his gaze and set

70/159

background image

the food on the table. Turning back to the
counter, she stood there doing busywork and
38

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

waited for him to sit down. She stiffened
when he came and stood behind her, so close
that she could feel his breath on the back of
her neck.

He placed his hands on her waist and pulled
her back into his body. She held herself ri-
gidly for a moment, before slowly relaxing
into his body. "It's alright if you enjoy his
touch. Don't be upset with yourself. I'll come
to grips with things in time. Don't let my atti-
tude cause you to make things harder for
yourself," he whispered into her ear, before
nuzzling her neck affectionately.

71/159

background image

"You mean it?" She looked so hopeful, he
was glad he hadn't told her the truth. In real-
ity, he wanted her to hate every minute of it.
He wanted to be the only man touching her
body, the one making her scream out in
pleasure. It had been sheer torture for him
last night, imagining what was going on in
Nardo's quarters. Knowing what he would be
doing if it were him, but, he couldn't tell Ce-
cily any of that. This was hard enough on her
as it was.

"Yes, I mean it." He kissed her then sat at the
table. He didn't look up when Nardo came
in, just mumbled good morning. Nardo was
sensitive enough not to rub his intimacy with
Cecily in Billy's face. He just sat and ate as if
it was any other morning.

Since Billy was a talker, the quiet would nor-
mally have grated on his nerves, but this
morning, he embraced it. He didn't want to
open his mouth, afraid of what would come

72/159

background image

out. He loved Nardo, but at that moment, he
hated him. It was unnerving, because he and
Nardo had always been the closest of the
three brothers. They were closest in age, 39

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

separated by only two years. CJ hadn't come
along until five years later.

If he had the option, he would take Cecily
and leave. Hell, if he had options, they
wouldn't be in this mess. He'd known he and
Nardo had similar tastes in women, but he'd
never expected his brother to take one look
at his wife and fall like a ton of bricks. At
first, Nardo's reaction pleased him. He'd
done good when he found Cecily, and he
knew it. He and Nardo had always been com-
petitive. Having a woman like Cecily love
him, caused him to swell with pride, and

73/159

background image

maybe he had bragged a little, rubbing it in
Nardo's face. He wasn't gloating now.

They finished eating and gathered their
things, not having spoken more than a word
or two to each other. They left the unit to-
gether, each one making sure the other had
no reason to linger or return.

Chapter Four

That night, Billy pulled her into their private
quarters without saying a word. As soon as
he had her in the room, he removed her
clothes. In short order, he had both of them
naked and on the bed.

"Billy, slow down. Why the...?" She wanted
to ask why the rush, but never got the
chance. His mouth plastered to hers and his
hands were everywhere. He was frenzied.

She gave up trying to slow him down and
just went along for the ride. She couldn't
honestly claim to enjoy it. While he didn't
hurt her, he didn't allow her enough time to
become sufficiently aroused before mounting
her. She hadn't come but could feel his des-
peration and she loved him enough to re-
spond to it.

background image

Afterwards, she lay there gazing at the ceil-
ing, feeling empty inside. Was this what they
were reduced to, frantic couplings in the
night? She glanced to the side when she
heard him sigh.

"Cece, I'm sorry. I don't know what came
over me. Did I hurt you?"

"No," she said quietly.

"Thank God for small favors. Let me make it
up to you, honey. I'll get it right this time."
Billy looked at Cecily gazing so uncertainly at
him and knew he was messing this up. She
was the best thing that ever happened to
him. It amazed him still that she'd even 41

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

76/159

looked at him twice. Compared to her, he
was nothing—street scum. Her family had
money and connections. Cecily had her
choice of suitors, and yet, she'd chosen him,
even though it meant going against her fam-
ily. He lived in fear of the day when she'd
realize that she'd made a mistake, that he
wasn't the man she thought he was, the one
he tried to be for her sake.

Nardo wasn't much better in terms of family
background. After all, they'd come form the
same family, but Nardo was smart. He'd ex-
celled at school and at sports. Hell,
everything Nardo put his mind to doing was
a success, like this mine thing. All those
people on the waiting list and Nardo secured
a spot for not only himself, but Billy and CJ
as well on his first attempt. As much as he
tried, Billy knew he didn't measure up, and
soon, Cecily would too, but not tonight. To-
night he'd prove to her, that in this area at
least, he was as good as his brother.

77/159

background image

He positioned himself above her, braced on
his forearms with his legs outside of hers so
their bodies barely touched. Holding her
gaze, he kissed her softly. Over and over, he
kissed her, pouring all of the love and ten-
derness he felt for her into his kisses, but not
one hint of the passion. He kissed her until
her arms came up and circled his neck, and
she began to respond to him with increasing
ardor. Still, he kissed her. He kissed her eye-
lids, her nose, and every inch of her face, al-
ways returning to her lips. When she moved
restlessly against him, he increased his
range. He kissed her neck, her earlobes, and
the tender area behind her 42

ears before returning to her mouth. She was
clutching him now, her hands gripping his
hair, holding him close. He scooted down

78/159

until his mouth was level with her breasts,
and gave them the same loving attention that
he'd given her face. He laved her breasts with
his tongue and suckled the nipples. Tenderly,
he played with them and scraped them
lightly with his teeth.

"Fill me, Billy. I need you inside of me," she
moaned, arching her body against his while
trying to spread her thighs. He blocked her
movement, keeping her legs clamped togeth-
er. "Not yet, baby. I need to make up for
what I did before."

"Billy..." she whined.

He ignored her, set on his course of making
this the best loving of her life. He owed her
this. He licked and kissed his way down her
belly, stopping to play with her belly button
before working his way to her mound. Once
there, he settled himself between her thighs
and gazed at the bounty spread before him.

79/159

background image

"Are you just going to stare at me all night?"
Billy watched as a tide of red began with her
face and spread to encompass her entire
body. He was embarrassing her with his at-
tention. "I could. You're that pretty." With
his hands braced on her inner thighs, he
spread her wide until she lay totally open to
him. Using his thumbs, he separated her
nether lips, gazing hungrily at the pink flesh
inside. He gently blew and watched as the
muscles clenched and released, a drop of flu-
id oozed out. He lowered his mouth and
caught the drop on the tip of his tongue. 43

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

God, she always tasted so good. He hungrily
dove for more. He shoved his tongue in as
deep as it could go and it wasn't enough. He
shoved his hands under her butt and lifted
her to his mouth. The sounds of slurping

80/159

filled the room as he consumed every ounce
of honey he could find. Cecily jerked and
bucked beneath him, but he didn't care. He
was obsessed, set on gorging himself.

"Billy, please! Please, come inside of me. I
need you now." Cecily tugged on his hair so
hard he felt a few strands rip loose. He hated
to leave his treasure, but her needs came
first. He crawled back up her body and
slowly eased his cock inside. He gritted his
teeth and gripped the sheet until his
knuckles turned white, trying to control the
urge to just slam home. He would go slow
and take it easy, even if it killed him. With
the way his heart was beating, it just might.

"Faster, Billy!"

"Not yet," he bit as he reversed directions
and began to pull out just as slowly.

81/159

background image

Cecily arched against him, trying to make
him go faster.

"No!" He gripped her hips and put more of
his weight on her, limiting her range of
movement. He laid his forehead on the mat-
tress and closed his eyes, focused intently on
establishing a slow and steady pace. He al-
most lost it when Cecily reared up and bit
him on the shoulder. He didn't know how
much longer he could hold out. She felt so
good. Her pussy was so tight and wet. He
could easily live inside her. Cecily was bab-
bling incoherently. Good, she was close. He
allowed a little of his tight control to slip,
adding a bit more speed and force to his
thrusts. 44

The Contract

82/159

Her nails dug into his back, and he flinched
when she clawed him. The slight pain almost
pushed him over the edge. Not yet. He had to
hold on just a little longer. Finally, Cecily
went rigid beneath him as her sheath spas-
modically milked his cock. Thank God. He
let loose and drove for his release. Cecily lay
in Billy's arms, basking in the afterglow,
when he ruined the moment. "You didn't
scream." She tensed. "What did you say?"

"When you came, you didn't scream. I heard
you screaming with Nardo, more than once.
Is he a better lover than I am?"

She pulled away from him in disbelief. "I
can't believe you asked me that."

"Why? It's a simple enough question." Cecily
rolled off the bed and began yanking her
clothes on.

83/159

background image

"You actually expect me to sit here and com-
pare the two of you?"

He sat up. "I'm not asking you to compare
us. I just want to know why you screamed
with him and not with me."

"It's a ridiculous question. Do you know how
juvenile you sound?" She headed for the
door.

"Where do you think you're going?" He came
up behind her and caught her by the hips be-
fore she could leave the room.

"Anywhere you aren't." She tugged against
his hold.

"You're not going anywhere." He gripped her
more firmly.

"Let me go." Her voice was low and threaten-
ing. "Now, before I get violent."

84/159

The Contract

Billy released her. As she walked out of the
room, he said,

"You just remember that tonight is my night.
Don't go running to Nardo."

She paused for a moment, tempted to turn
around and tell him a thing or two, but de-
cided it wasn't worth it. This wasn't going to
work. They'd all be at each other throats be-
fore long. She stalked into the common
room, so mad she was steaming. At the sight
of Nardo sitting there, she pulled up short.
He looked up then glanced behind her, look-
ing for Billy.

"You want to talk about it?"

85/159

background image

"No," she said shortly before stalking into the
kitchen. Once there, she stopped and looked
around uncertainly. Now that she was here,
she had no idea what to do. She could eat
since she'd missed dinner, but she wasn't
hungry. She walked to the replicator and re-
quested a FuzzyWuzzle—a hot drink she'd
enjoyed as a child. Maybe it would help calm
her. She took it to the table and sat cradling
it in her hands, staring into the mug as
though it held all the answers to the secrets
of the universe.

Nardo walked over and stood in the entry-
way. "Sure you don't want to talk about it?
I'm a good listener. Sometimes it helps."

Cecily snorted. "I'm sure."

"You know, I don't believe I've ever seen you
angry," he said conversationally. "Usually,
you're bouncing around all cheerful-like.
Even when Andrica was alive, you were

86/159

always happy even though, I know she got
under your skin." Cecily sighed. "Nardo, not
only don't I want to talk about it, I don't
want to talk, period. No offense." 46

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

"I can respect that. Just know that you can
talk to me about anything. In the time that
you've been here, we've become very good
friends. I hope our being married hasn't
changed that. I want both, to be your lover
and your friend." He looked behind him as
the door to her privacy quarters opened and
Billy walked in. Cecily didn't bother looking
up. Right now, she didn't want to see either
man—Billy, for acting like a jerk, and Nardo,
for being the cause of it all. Billy approached
slowly, looking back and forth between the
two of them, trying to gauge what was hap-
pening between them. Nardo gave him a

87/159

background image

look, and the message was clear, 'I don't
know what you did, but I know you did
something. Fix it!' Billy nodded in acknow-
ledgement of receipt and understanding of
Nardo's message.

"Cecily, may I speak with you for a moment,
in private?"

"No," she said without looking up from her
drink. Billy turned to Nardo who was watch-
ing him steadily to see what he would do
now. "Nardo, could you give us some privacy,
please? I need to speak to Cecily." Nardo
glanced at Cecily still ignoring them both
then turned on his heel and left the room.
When he was out of sight, Billy came to the
table.

"Cece, I'm sorry. You're right. What I asked
was completely out of line. Will you forgive
me?" Silence.

88/159

background image

Billy waited for a moment, then pulled out a
chair and sat down. "I lied to you earlier."
That got her attention. "It's not alright with
me if you enjoy his touch. I know I shouldn't
feel this way. It's extremely selfish of me, but
I wish you hated 47

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

his touch as much as I hate the idea of him
touching you. I'm trying to get over it, to
come to terms with everything, but I'll need
some time. Will you please just try to be pa-
tient with me?"

Cecily looked into Billy's eyes. Sighing heav-
ily, she got up and sat next to him. Taking his
hand in her own, she played with it while she
got her words together.

89/159

background image

"This is about more than me and you. This is
about the three of us and the survival of our
family. Nardo is more than your brother;
he's your best friend and you love each other
dearly. I never wanted to come between you
two. This isn't easy for any of us. You acting
possessive and jealous is not helping matters
any. I know you want to hold on to me, to
protect your place in my heart, but the way
you're going about it is eventually going to
drive me away. I can't live like this."

He interrupted, wanting her to understand.
"Cecily, because you're an only child, I know
you won't really understand, but I'm going to
try and explain anyway. I realize I'm coming
across as a spoiled little boy who's pouting
because he has to share his favorite toy, but
what I'm feeling goes deeper than that."

He switched so he was the one playing with
her fingers while he tried to put what he was
feeling into words. "I want you to try to

90/159

background image

imagine never having anything of your own,
having to share everything; your room,
clothes, toys, possession, all of it, nothing
ever belonging exclusively to you. All of my
life, nothing was mine. Because Nardo's the
oldest, he got everything first. There just
wasn't enough 48

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

money to go around. I dreamed of the day
when I could have something that was
mine."

She opened her mouth to speak, halting
when he placed his finger over her mouth.
"It's more than just the sharing. If that were
all there was to it, I'm sure I would have ad-
justed by now. Until you came along, I was
Nardo's little brother. That's it. No identity
of my own but I was okay with that; because,

91/159

background image

I love my brother and look up to him. He's
taught me a lot. However, you, Cece, you
were mine, totally. You were the only person
who saw me. The only person that thought I
was more than just an insignificant, inferior,
clone of Nardo. I can't give that up."

"Oh, honey." Cecily sat on his lap and placed
her arms around his neck. "That will never
happen. I love you. Yes, I care for Nardo.
How could I not? He's your brother. You've
talked about him for years. I liked him before
I ever met him just because you love him so
much."

He laid his forehead against hers. "In my
heart, I know that. I'm just so scared, and
hurt, and confused. If I had known, we'd
have stayed on Earth, no matter how tough
things were. No amount of money is worth
losing you." Cecily stroked his cheek then
lightly kissed him. "You won't lose me. Trust
me. No matter what happens with Nardo, it

92/159

background image

won't effect how I feel about you. One thing,
Billy, if this living arrangement is going to
work, then there must be honesty between
us, and there must be rules and boundaries.
One of the rules is that I will not discuss with
you what goes on in the privacy quarters
between Nardo and me. Neither will I dis-
cuss with him what happens between you
and me." 49

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

He hung his head, ashamed of his earlier be-
havior. This was twice now that he'd blown
it. He wasn't going to get too many more
chances to make it right. "I'm sorry. I know
I've been apologizing a lot lately, but I prom-
ise this won't happen again."

Cecily lifted his chin and gave him a smile to
show all forgiven. "I know this is difficult for

93/159

background image

you. I'd hate having to share you with anoth-
er woman. I know you're trying, but for all of
our sakes, you've got to do better." Billy took
the hand under his chin and brought it to his
face, laying his cheek against her palm. "I
know. I promise, I'll do better. Pushing you
away is the last thing I want to do. Also, I
take it back; I do want you to enjoy your
times with Nardo. I would hate to see you
continuously subjected to something you
hate. Don't worry about me. I'll deal with my
issues."

He stood and pulled Cecily to her feet. "Will
you come with me now? I promise I'll
behave."

"What about dinner? You didn't eat."

"I'm not hungry. Let's just go to bed." She
nodded and allowed him to lead her from the
room. Once in their quarters, they undressed
silently and climbed back into bed. Cecily

94/159

background image

turned on her side, away from him, and he
snuggled up behind.

He listened to her breathe for a long time,
but eventually, her breathing evened out, sig-
nifying she was asleep. He doubted he would
sleep. They'd just had their first fight. Al-
though she had forgiven him, he knew Cecily
still didn't 50

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

understand. She was an only child. She
didn't know what it was like, living in
someone's shadow.

Until Cece, he'd just been an extension of
Nardo, but that was fine. They were so close,
they'd been like clones. They looked alike,
acted alike, and liked the same things. It was
always Nardo and him against the world.

95/159

background image

Their mother used to joke that they were
identical twins, born two years apart. Cecily
had changed all of that. He clearly re-
membered the day it happened. To this day,
he couldn't remember what question she
asked, but he remembered the impact of her
response.

"Nardo and me, we..."

She put her finger over his lips. "I'm sure
your brother is a nice man, but I asked about
you. Tell me about Billy. What do you like?
What do you think? How do you feel? I want
to know you."

It was at that very moment, sitting in that
restaurant, that he fell in love. Cecily saw
him. For her, there were no comparisons.
She'd never met Nardo and wasn't interested
in hearing about him. She wanted to know
him, Billy. He couldn't go back to being a

96/159

background image

non-person, just a clone of Nardo—not in her
eyes.

* * * *

The next day was Sunday, the day she had
reserved for herself. Cecily spent a lot of time
thinking the night before. She'd come to the
conclusion that the only way that this was
going to work is if they each had their own
personal space. 51

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

She needed a place to get away when the ten-
sion of living with her two husbands became
too much.

While the men were gone, she did something
about it.

97/159

background image

"Computer, I need to redesign the living
quarters."

"Specify parameters."

"Privacy quarters. Reduce the size of quar-
ters one and two then create quarter number
three. All quarters to be sized equally."

She stood back and watched the walls realign
themselves. When the computer was fin-
ished, she said, "Computer, key security to
quarter number three to open on my voice
command alone, except for emergency
override."

"Parameters for emergency override?"

"Failing vital signature or non-responsive-
ness to three attempts to arouse."

"Security complete."

98/159

background image

Between the Replicator and the Reproduc-
tion Units, by the time the men arrived, she
had her privacy quarters decorated to her ex-
act specifications. The Reproduction Unit
could reproduce any natural substance, ac-
cording to any design already programmed
within its system. The Replicator Unit could
also create, if described in full detail, an ex-
act replica of any design or item.

She fixed dinner and sat quietly at the table
with the men, making no effort to converse
as she normally did. After exchanging a few
puzzled looks, Nardo and Billy attempted to
engage her in conversation.

Billy started it. "How was your day?"

"Fine."

52

The Contract

"I noticed the mail shuttle was in. Did you go
see if we had any mail?" Nardo asked. Mail
runs were special. It was the one time she got
a chance to get out and see other people. It
only occurred once every other month and
she hadn't missed one since she'd been here.

"No."

The men exchanged worried glances. Then,
Billy tried again. "They moved us to a new
sector in the mine."

"That's nice."

More tense silence.

"This is great, Cis. Really hits the spot after a
hard day like today." Nardo waited expect-
antly for her to ask about his day as she nor-
mally did.

100/159

background image

"Thanks."

They finally got the hint that she wasn't in-
terested in talking and gave up. When the
meal was finished, she gathered the dishes.

"Can I help you with anything?" Billy again.

"No, I've got it."

Both men stood there awkwardly, watching
her clean. She wasn't behaving like herself
and they knew it.

"You want to watch a holovid when you're
done? Tonight's retro night. There playing
reconstructed vids from the 21st century."
Nardo knew holovids from that period were
her favorite.

"Not tonight."

101/159

background image

They stood a moment longer before finally
wandering off. She heard the holovid come
on then sounds of the channels changing.

53

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

A few minutes later, everything was clean to
her satisfaction. She excused herself and
went to her room. She didn't know what they
thought about the changes in their living
quarters, nor did she care.

The holovid clicked off as soon as she was
gone. The brothers faced off with each other
like adversaries in the silence of the room.

"If you don't get a better handle on things,
you're going to drive her away and neither
one of us will have her," Nardo said quietly.

102/159

background image

"You think I don't know that," Billy ex-
ploded. "I know I'm not handling things as
well as I should and Cecily is the one suffer-
ing for it. I don't need you telling me
anything."

"Well,

somebody

needs

to

tell

you

something. This is about more than just your
bruised ego."

"Bruised ego! Bruised ego! You think this is
about my ego?

Do you have any idea how I feel, knowing
you're having sex with my wife? My wife,
dammit!" he said in a harsh whisper.

"She's my wife now, too." Nardo wanted
there to be no misunderstandings on the
point. Cecily was his too.

"Only because of a legal fluke," Billy insisted.

103/159

background image

"A fluke you and Cecily agreed to," Nardo re-
minded him.

"You think I would have agreed if I'd known
you'd do something like this?" Billy asked.
"In fact, I assured Cecily that she would nev-
er have to worry about it when she hesitated
in signing. 'Nardo has a wife. Don't worry.
This is just a formality. Even if Andrica did
die, Nardo would never betray me,' I said.
More the fool I am. Furthermore, don't try to
make me out to be the villain in all of this.
You've wanted 54

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

Cecily since you first saw her. I saw the
boner you were sporting when we got off the
transport. You saw an opportunity to get a
taste of her and you took it."

104/159

background image

"Damn right, I did. I love her. If I could have,
I'd have taken her from you. I don't want to
share her any more than you, but if that's the
only way that I can have her, I'll take
whatever I can get."

"Love her? You don't love her. You don't
even know her, not like I do." Billy was so
furious he was pacing. His hands kept
clenching into fists, as if fighting the urge to
go for Nardo's throat.

"Look," Nardo said, trying to calm things
down, "I'm not going to argue with you about
this. She belongs to both of us, now, and
you'd better get your shit together before The
Company throws us all off this rock and
sends us back to Earth."

Chapter Five

Private Journal, Entry 3004.15

It's been three weeks since this new living
arrangement began. Today is Sunday, what
I've come to think of as "me" day. It started
as a way to keep the boys from arguing
about who got an extra night with me. It's
evolved into so much more. On Sundays, I
take care of me. I don't cook or do any
cleaning, and when the boys are home, I
don't come out of my quarters. It's the only
way I can cope. I'm slowly adjusting to the
reality of having two husbands. I no longer
flinch inwardly when Nardo refers to me as
his wife. I really wish there was someone I
could talk to about all of this. I would ask
Mom, but communications with Earth are
monitored and The Company can't know
that things aren't going well. That's the last
thing any of us wants. Mr. Smith didn't

background image

exaggerate when he told me The Company
frowns on socializing outside of the unit. I've
been here six months and still don't really
know any of my neighbors. I have no idea if
there's a woman here who could give me the
advice that I need.

Sexually, I've never been more fulfilled. Is it
possible to die from too much sex? I guess
I'll know the answer to that shortly. My
nights filled with sex and my days spent re-
cuperating and, preparing myself for the
night to come. Sex with Nardo is ... indes-
cribable. He's so passionate, intense, and he
brings out the passionate woman in me. I've
learned so much from him about my body,
my needs, my
56

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

108/159

background image

desires. He pulls me out of my shell and
won't let me hide behind my inexperience.
He's always teaching me new things and
daring me to do more.

Cecily bit down on the end of the stylus then
tapped the edge of the data pad as she
thought back to a perfect example. It had
been her sixth night with Nardo. When she'd
entered his quarters, he was already laying
on the bed, naked.

"Tonight, I want you to make love to me."
She stopped in the process of removing her
clothes and raised eyes that she knew reflec-
ted her confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Tonight, I want you to touch me. I want you
to take the initiative."

Her hands shook as she removed the last
item and approached the bed. "I don't know
how," she admitted, as she stood nervously

109/159

background image

by the bed. It was true. Usually, the men took
control and she followed their lead. Nardo
took her hand and pulled her onto the bed
beside him. "Hasn't Billy ever..."

She gave him a warning look that caused him
to stop midstream. "You know I don't discuss
what happens between Billy and me."

"You're right. I'm sorry. What I meant to say
was, haven't you ever wanted to be in con-
trol? That's what I'm offering. My body is
yours. Touch me. Use me. Take your pleas-
ure. Do whatever you please."

She looked at the offering he made and was
mightily tempted. Her gaze traveled over
bulging biceps, rippled abs, 57

and sculpted thighs to the long, rigid penis
lying on his stomach, proclaiming his desire
for her. She bit her bottom lip. "What if I do
something wrong?"

"You can't."

She laid a hesitant hand on his shoulder.
"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Touch me."

She glided her hand down his arm a bit and
glanced at him. He was watching her in-
tently. "I can't do this with you watching
me."

He obediently closed his eyes. Cecily went
back to studying his body. It was so different
from hers. He was so hard, muscular. Using
her index finger, she traced the hollows de-
lineating his biceps and triceps then gently
squeezed the muscle. She guided her

111/159

background image

exploring finger past his shoulder, over his
Adam's apple, and down his chest, outlining
each muscle.

His nipples puckered as she circled them,
drawing her attention. She lightly flicked
them back and forth, one at a time. Nardo
tensed beneath her, causing her to look up.
"You like that?"

"Yes." His eyes remained closed. She went
back to what she was doing. After some
thought, she lowered her mouth and flicked
his left nipple with the tip of her tongue. He
sucked in a sharp breath then whispered,

"Do it again."

Confidence building, she licked the left
nipple, and then the right. Back and forth,
back and forth, until she took it a step fur-
ther. Knowing how much she enjoyed it

112/159

background image

when they did it to her, she opened her
mouth as wide as she could, 58

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

drawing as much of his nipple and surround-
ing area that would fit into her mouth and
suctioned it.

"Cis," he hissed. When she startled and
pulled back, his hands came up and pulled
her head back to his chest. "Don't stop."

She went back to suckling, first one pec and
then the other. His groans of pleasure went
to her head. Drunk on her first taste of sexu-
al power, she trailed kisses down his body
until she reached his cock.

Nardo held his breath, his anticipation obvi-
ous. For the first time, Cecily found herself

113/159

background image

eye-level with a cock. Billy had taught her
how to hold and stroke his, and she used the
knowledge to pleasure Nardo.

She cupped his balls with one hand, while
stroking his shaft with the other. A bead of
moisture oozed out the hole at the top. Curi-
ous, she leaned down a licked it off. Nardo's
hips shot off the bed. Cecily jerked back and
almost landed on the floor. "Did I do
something wrong?" He reached for her,
pulling her back to safety. "God, no, baby. I
didn't mean to scare you. It just felt so damn
good. Don't you like it when I put my mouth
on you?" She didn't even have to think about
the answer to that one. "Yes."

"It feels just as good to me. Maybe even bet-
ter." Her mouth made a small O. She took
his penis in hand again and bent over, stop-
ping just short of taking him into her mouth.
The position she was in wasn't that

114/159

background image

comfortable. If she continued, her back
would be hurting before long. "The angle's
wrong."

59

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

"Straddle my chest."

"Huh?"

"Swing this leg," he patted her left leg, "over
my chest so that you're facing my cock. You'll
be more comfortable." Consequently, he
would be looking at her butt, not exactly her
most attractive feature. When she hesitated,
he tugged on her leg. "Come on. Don't be
shy." Slowly she did as he requested, making
sure she didn't accidentally kick him in the
face. It was strange, sitting with her back

115/159

background image

towards him. At least, she didn't have to
worry about him watching her.

She, once again, lifted his penis and lowered
her head.

"Wait a sec." He placed his hands on her
hips. "Scoot back."

He moved around underneath, almost un-
seating her. She looked back over her
shoulder. "What are you doing?"

"Getting comfortable." He stacked some pil-
lows under his head. Then he pulled on her
legs until positioned the way he wanted.
"Okay, I'm done. Continue." Cecily turned
her attention back to his penis still fisted in
her hand. She pushed out of her mind that
fact that this position left her ass in the air,
virtually in his face. Instead, she focused on
trying to give Nardo as much pleasure as he
usually gave her.

116/159

background image

Since he'd liked it so much the first time, she
did it again; she licked the slit at the top of
his penis again. She rolled her tongue around
the smooth skin at the top, enjoying the feel
of it before dropping to toy with the ridge of
skin circling his penis.

60

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

Nardo's hands cupped the cheeks of her ass,
molding and kneading them, before separat-
ing the globes. Distracted by his actions, she
stopped.

"Ignore me. Keep doing what you're doing. It
feels good." She put the tip of his penis in her
mouth and laved it with her tongue.

117/159

background image

"That's nice, Cis. Give me more. Suck me."
She started when she felt his breath on her
sex. Curious, but trying to ignore him, she
took more of him in her mouth. She sucked
him as she would an ice pop.

"That's good, baby. Now move your head up
and down my shaft."

She did as instructed and felt the saliva pool-
ing in her mouth as his head neared the back
of her throat. Convulsively, she accidentally
swallowed when she felt his tongue glide the
length of her slit.

"Shit! That felt good." His fingers clenched
on her hips. Gaining confidence, she took
more and more of him into her mouth. She
fisted his shaft and used it as an extension of
her mouth as she glided up and down its
length. She lost focus when he found her clit
and repeatedly licked it, while a finger slid in
and out of her sheath. How was she

118/159

background image

supposed to concentrate on what she was do-
ing when he was doing that?

She tried blocking out the sensations, but it
felt too good. Her grip slackened and her
mouth hung open just enough to allow him
to pump in and out, as if it was another va-
gina, everything inside of her centered on
that one finger stroking her pussy.

61

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

She wanted more; needed more. One finger
wasn't enough. She tried but she couldn't
grip it tight enough with her cunt. She
needed more thickness. Something she could
clamp down on. She moaned and reflexively
swallowed again, making Nardo groan in re-
turn and thrust deeper. Cecily released his

119/159

cock and pulled away from the hands hold-
ing her. "Come in me, Nardo. I need you."
She lowered her shoulders to the bed and
spread her legs, presenting herself to him.

"If you want me, Cis, take me." He made no
move to rise and cover her.

"Nardo, please."

He tugged and pulled until he had her posi-
tioned over his straining erection. "Ride me.
If you want me, here I am." Hands resting on
her thighs, she bit her lip as she looked down
at him. She wanted him so much she was
aching, low in her womb.

"You can do this, Cis." He held his penis at
the base, pointing straight up. "Lower your-
self on my cock and just do what feels good.
Don't worry about pleasing me." She rested
her hands on his chest, gingerly bracing her-
self as she lowered her body onto him,

120/159

background image

glancing down to make sure she was cor-
rectly lined up. Entranced, she watched, her
sheath seeming to swallow him whole. When
she'd gone as low as she could, she reversed
directions until she was poised just on the
tip.

Nardo held her hips. "Just like that, Cis.
Take your time. Close your eyes and feel."

62

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

She watched his cock disappear and re-
appear from her body, awed. She'd never
watched before. It surprised her how turned
on the sight of it made her. In danger of be-
ing overwhelmed, she closed her eyes, and
her world tilted on its axis.

121/159

background image

Everything was more intense. She felt every
inch of his penis as it rubbed against the
walls inside of her. Her leg muscles protested
and she shifted positions, only to gasp in sur-
prise. Her movement made him brush
against something that felt wonderful. She
did it again, and again. Gradually, she picked
up speed until she was riding him hard, fo-
cusing inward on the fire streaking through
her body.

"That's it, baby. Take what you need." She
was so close. Her hands clenched his chest,
nails digging into his muscles. Every muscle
in her body tightened. Then she stopped,
poised on the edge of what she knew would
be the most earth-shattering orgasm of her
life, unable to do what she needed to leap off
the cliff. "Nardo, please. I can't. I..." Her
whole body shuddered.

"That's alright, baby. I got you. I know what
you need. Hold on." With one hand, he took

122/159

background image

a firmer grip on her hip, holding her in place.
The other reached down and teased her clit.
Simultaneously, he thrust upward with his
hips and initiated a driving rhythm.

The combination was all it took. Cecily's
world exploded and her vision went black.
She thought her heart actually stopped beat-
ing. It was that intense. She barely felt Nardo
shaking under her as he reached his release.
63

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

Cecily came back to the present and realized
her body was responding to the memory. She
was wet and achy. As much as her mind
needed these Sundays alone, her body hated
them. She directed her attention back to her
diary. Nardo is slowly but surely stealing his
way into my heart. I already loved him as a

123/159

background image

brother and thought of him as a good
friend. Sex with him has only taken our re-
lationship to a new and deeper level. He's no
longer the brother of my heart. Now, he's so
much more.

Conversely, the closer I draw to Nardo, the
more I see Billy hurting. I try to assure him
that I still love him, and that nothing has
changed between us, but of course, that's a
lie. Nothing is static. Everything changes.
Whether for good or for bad, only we can
determine.

I made the mistake of using something
Nardo taught me to try to please Billy, sexu-
ally. My intentions were good, but the res-
ults were not what I expected.
It was the
third week of their new living arrangements.
Billy had been making a tremendous effort to
put aside his bitterness toward Nardo, and
Cecily wanted to reward him. As they re-
turned to their quarters from sharing a

124/159

background image

particle bath, Cecily told him. "I want to do
something special for you tonight."

"Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah," she returned with a smile. "Undress
and sit on the side of the bed."

"I'm liking this already."

When he was in position, she knelt between
his legs.

"Aren't you going to undress?"

64

The Contract

"Not yet." She pushed away the hands that
were reaching for her robe to remove it.
"Stop.

Be

patient.

This

you,

remember?" She took his cock in her hand,
using the grip he'd taught her, that he
preferred.

"I like where this is headed," he said and
leaned back, allowing her to do as she
pleased.

She stroked him until he was hard, and a bit
of precum leaked from the tip. Then she
lowered her head and took him into her
mouth.

"What the hell? Cece, what are you doing?"
He tried to push her off him, but she held
him firm and sucked him harder.

"Ah, shit. Sweetheart, you don't have to do
this. Stop." She pushed his hand away from
her head, took him deeper, and hummed.

His hips lurched up off the bed. If she hadn't
been holding him, she'd be choking right

126/159

background image

now. She bobbed her head up and down, tak-
ing as much length as she comfortably could.
His mouth was still saying no, but his hips
were pumping, fucking her mouth. She
played with his balls, lightly stroking them.
Then, she slid her hand down and lightly
rubbed the tender skin at the base of his
scrotum, leading to his ass. Billy let loose
with a string of curses, and his hands came
up to clutch her head, holding her to him.
She took that as a good sign and rubbed
slightly harder. It was enough to send him
over the edge. His grip on her hair tightened,
and he thrust upward, his seed shooting into
her mouth. Cecily swallowed hastily to keep
from choking. It didn't taste bad, 65

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

but it wasn't something she was used to.
Nardo usually called a halt to things before it

127/159

got to this point. She suckled him until he
softened in her mouth. When she looked up
at him, he laid back on the bed, breathing
hard. She leaned forward until her head res-
ted on his stomach. Billy stroked her hair.
"Where did you...? Never mind. Nardo."

The bitterness in his voice when he said his
brother's name made her raise her head.
"Did I do something wrong?"

"No, sweetie." He wiped a bit of cum from
the corner of her mouth with his thumb.

"I just wanted to please you," she told him
softly.

"And you did."

"Then what's wrong?"

128/159

background image

"It's just ... this is going to sound crazy but ...
I wanted to be the one to teach you things,"
he said with a sigh.

"You have. You did."

"But not this."

"Why didn't you when it gives you so much
pleasure?" That's one thing she didn't under-
stand, why he seemed to put limits on their
lovemaking.

"I didn't think you would like it. I thought
you would think it was dirty or something."
He looked a little sheepish. "And, I didn't
want you thinking less of me for asking."

"Billy, I love you. Nothing we do is dirty. If it
pleases you, show me. If I don't like it, I'll tell
you, but don't make the decision for me."

129/159

background image

"You're right. From now on, that's what I'll
do." He pulled her completely onto the bed
and rolled on top of her. "Now, 66

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

let me show you a little something I've
wanted to do for a long time."

After that night, I could feel Billy analyzing
me whenever we made love. He watched
each move I made. I know he wondered if
my actions were something learned from
Nardo, or from him. He never said any-
thing, but it was there, between us.

God help us all. Something has to give, and
soon. I don't know how much longer I can
continue like this.

Chapter Six

Things were improving, but there was still an
underlying hostility between her husbands,
apparent whenever the two were in close
proximity. On the surface, they were polite
enough, but it was the cold politeness of
long-time enemies forced by a higher power
into a truce. There was no sign of the previ-
ous closeness the two had shared. All out-
ward signs of anger disappeared when they
were alone with Cecily in the privacy of their
quarters. With her, they were as loving as
could be. In fact, they went out of their way
to please her.

It was like a competition, with each man
seeking to prove which one was the better
lover. They were fighting, but the battle-
ground was the bed as each man sought to
outdo the other. Physically, she'd never been
more satisfied in her life. Emotionally and

background image

mentally, she was a wreck, waiting for the
coming explosion that she could feel brew-
ing. For weeks, she'd walked a fine line,
maintaining the peace and not doing or say-
ing anything to upset the delicate balance
between the two. The pressure on her was
too great. She needed relief.

The day of reckoning came when she walked
into the, seldom used, Medical Containment
Unit to clean it. Each of the family units had
one, as The Company required quarterly Fit
for Duty scans for all of their miners. Cecily
walked through the door, and the dormant
computer sprang to life. "Two life forms de-
tected." 68

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

She paused and glanced behind her. She was
the only one in the unit. "Computer, repeat."

133/159

background image

"Two life forms detected."

"Computer, run systems scan. There is only
one life form present."

"Negative. One humanoid female detected.
One humanoid fetus, gender unknown,
detected."

Cecily sat down abruptly as the strength left
her legs. Humanoid fetus. It was talking
about a baby. She was pregnant. She hadn't
noticed missing any cycles. She didn't feel
any different.

"Computer, please determine paternity of
fetus." Cecily held still as a bright red beam
of light scanned her from head to toe, con-
centrating briefly on her womb before blink-
ing out. "Unable to determine." Celily cursed
under her breath, Fine, she'd go at this an-
other way. "Computer, please confirm date
of conception."

134/159

background image

"Conception occurred forty-nine days prior."
Okay, now they were getting somewhere.
"Computer, display conception date on cal-
endar." A revolving 3-D image of a calendar
appeared in the air before her, marking the
date. It was the first day that Nardo had
claimed his conjugal rights. She'd had sex
with both husbands that day.

"Computer, please narrow conception to the
hour."

"Negative, unable to comply."

Crappy MCUs. If this had been Earth, she'd
have known down to the second when she
conceived, and there would be no question of
paternity. Damn, The Company for using 69

cheap, outdated equipment to save money.
She left the Medical Unit, went back into the
common room in a daze, and sat down. This
just could not be happening. She started
laughing. She laughed and laughed until she
rolled off the seat and onto the floor. She
couldn't control it. She laughed until tears
rolled down her face, then she curled into a
ball and began to cry.

She cried for Billy, her sweet man whose in-
securities had turned him into a jealous
stranger. She cried because he was unwilling,
or maybe just unable, to share her love with
anyone else. She cried for Nardo, who des-
perately wanted her to love him and was
willing to do anything to gain her love, even
turn against his own brother. Most of all, she
cried for herself, caught in the middle of an
impossible situation that showed no signs of
improving.

136/159

background image

Neither she nor Billy took any form of con-
traceptive as they had permission to have
children. The reproduction rules on Asteroid
4239 were not as stringent as they were on
Earth. They'd been excited at the thought of
being parents, although they weren't actively
trying to conceive. They decided to do things
the old-fashioned way and let nature take its
course.

Well, nature had done exactly what it was
supposed to do, but at the wrong time. The
men were possessive enough about her as it
was. How could she possibly tell them that
one of them was going to be a father, but she
didn't know which one? The baby would only
be one more source of contention between
the two men as each tried to lay claim to the
child. 70

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

137/159

background image

Once the baby was born, the computer would
be able to determine paternity. If not, she'd
have to wait until they returned to Earth to
know whose child it was. She couldn't live
with that type of uncertainty. It didn't matter
to her who the father was, but it would mat-
ter greatly to the men. When the main door
to their unit slid open and her husbands
came in, she sat up and quickly wiped her
face, not wanting to be caught crying. It was
too late. They'd already seen. Both men
rushed to her side.

"What's wrong?"

"Why are you on the floor?"

"Are you hurt?" The questions came at her
like laser fire.

"Let's take her into the Medical Unit." That
came from Nardo, taking command of the
situation.

138/159

background image

"No! I mean, that's unnecessary. I'm fine. I
didn't hurt anything. Just relieving a little
stress." Neither man appeared to believe her.
"What are you two doing home so early?"
Her question reminded them of their mis-
sion. "We hit a large gas pocket and had to be
decontaminated. Medical sent us home,"
Billy said.

"Gas pocket?" The gases in the mines were
deadly. "Are you alright?"

"We're fine. We just came home to change.
Our suits were compromised." Nardo
answered on his way to his quarters to
change.

The jumpsuits were critical to survival in the
mines. Conscious of the passing time, both
men wasted no time in changing so that they
could return. Billy paused long enough to
kiss her on his way out the door. "We may be
home late. 71

We're working Sector Nine. Sensors tell us
that we're close to a huge pocket of ore."

"Be careful. Both of you." Nardo nodded his
head in acknowledgement and walked out
the door with Billy close behind.

What was she going to do? She couldn't hide
her condition forever. No, but you can hide it
for a little while longer and hope things get
better,
her more sensible side argued. Decid-
ing to postpone making any decisions for
now, she logged onto the computer and ac-
cessed The Company's regulations for family
units expecting children. The birth would be
accomplished painlessly and with ease right
here in the family's Medical Unit. Now con-
sidered a medical liability, she would be re-
stricted to quarters for the duration of her

140/159

pregnancy. No more trips to the loading dock
to send or retrieve the mail.

She reviewed the mandatory checkup sched-
ule and went into the Medical Unit to get the
first one out of the way. It was time and now
that she knew, she couldn't claim ignorance.
The computer would have already reported
her condition to Company Headquarters,
and they would be checking for compliance.

Hours later, she was mindlessly watching
holovids, in an effort to pass the time, when
alarms began going off. She'd only heard
those alarms one time before. There was an
accident somewhere in the mines.

"All personnel, report to Sector Nine.
Repeat. All personnel. Report to Sector
Nine."

72

Sector Nine! She grabbed the remote and
flipped it to the Company's channel. Any
available information would display here.
The Communication's Officer appeared on
the screen.

"Attention, families. There's been an explo-
sion in Sector Nine, causing part of the mine
to collapse. It is unclear which personnel are
affected, but we have received word that sev-
eral miners remain trapped. Authorities are
making every effort to facilitate their safe re-
trieval. Please remain in your quarters. You
will be contacted as more information be-
comes available."

Please God, don't let my husbands be one of
the men trapped. Please
, she prayed.

142/159

* * * *

The wait was agonizing. After the passing of
three hours, they finally received word of
which of the ten miners working in Sector
Nine, remained trapped. God must not have
been listening, Billy and Nardo were two of
the six men buried beneath the rubble.

Bots were working to clear the debris. It was
slow going. The explosion had demolished
the supports and the area was highly un-
stable. Cecily paced and prayed while she
waited for word of their rescue.

You never know how much someone means
to you until the threat of their loss arises, she
thought. While she waited, she reflected
upon her feelings for the two men. It wasn't a
question of whom she loved more, at least
not in her mind. She could never choose
between the two and hoped that she never
had to. She loved each 73

143/159

background image

The Contract

by Zena Wynn

husband equally for different reasons and
each met a different need in her life. She
loved Billy. He was her first love, her first
lover. He was sweet and gentle and
everything she thought she'd ever desire in a
man. They were friends first, then lovers.
She'd never regret marrying him and loved
the idea of growing old with him.

Then there was Nardo. While Billy was the
love of her heart, Nardo was the fire in her
soul. She loved him with a depth of passion
she'd never believed possible. She couldn't
imagine life without him, now that he was in
it. Losing Nardo would be like losing a piece
of herself, and just as devastating.

Love wasn't limited. It had the ability to ex-
pand and grow. She wished that her men

144/159

background image

understood that she didn't have to love only
one or the other. She had enough love in her
heart to love them both.

The computer had to prompt to eat. The
Medical Units in all of the family quarters
monitored vitals to make sure that the stress
of not knowing the fate of the trapped
miners didn't result in additional trauma to
the family. She ate and lay down, eyes glued
to the holovid so she didn't miss any of the
action. The rescue site was on live-view, so
families could stay apprised of the progress.

Six hours later, the first two miners were loc-
ated. They had been caught in the initial ex-
plosion and hadn't survived. Cecily waited
tensely for identification of the bodies. Upon
the announcement of the names, she sagged
to the floor in relief. It wasn't them. Thank
God, it wasn't them. That still left four men
waiting for rescue.

145/159

74

The Contract

Forty-five minutes later, another body was
located. This one was easily identifiable. It
was Raymon Gonzolas, a miner she'd heard
Nardo mention frequently. Her heart went
out to his spouse and child, even as she gave
thanks to God that, once again, she'd been
spared.

It took another two hours for the next miner
to be uncovered. This one was alive, barely,
but he was alive. His recovery revived her
flagging spirits. Usually, the longer a rescue
operation took, the less chance there was to
find the miners alive. Search and rescue soon
became search and recover.

146/159

background image

She sat on the edge of her seat, waiting for
her men to be located. God, please let them
be alive.
She rubbed her belly, for the first
time, feeling connected with her unborn
child.

"Don't worry baby. Daddy's alive. You'll see.
Everything is going to be alright." She des-
perately needed to believe what she was say-
ing. The alternative was unthinkable. She
jerked to attention as a roar of triumph rose
from the rescue site. The last 2 men were
found, and they were alive.

Chapter Seven

Nardo came to calling Billy's name. "Shhh!
He's alright. You're both safe." A soft hand
brushed the hair off his forehead before
caressing his face.

Cecily. He opened his eyes to see her leaning
over him. He looked around and realized he
was in their family's Medical Unit. Reaching
up, he gripped Cecily by the head and pulled
her down for a kiss. He put into the kiss all
the emotions he was feeling. He was alive!
He thought he would never see her again.

He pulled back when he felt her tears on his
face. "I was so afraid. I thought I'd lost you,"
she cried as she wiped her tears off his face.

"Billy saved my life. He saved both of our
lives. I heard the explosion and then—
whoosh—Billy grabbed me and pulled me

into one of the ventilation vents right before
the fireball reached us. The vent supports
kept the rubble from crushing us when the
tunnel collapsed."

Cecily's hands covered her mouth. In her
eyes was the knowledge of how close she'd
come to losing both of them.

"You're sure he's alright?" Nardo asked.

"Yes, he's just sleeping. You've both been un-
conscious for over 24 hours while the nanos
healed you." Nardo took Cecily's hand in his.
"Cis, this isn't going to work, is it?" He con-
tinued before she could respond. "I love you
so much that it hurts. I saw my opportunity
to have you, and I took it, willing to pay any
price just to have you. I 76

thought Billy would adjust in time. Unfortu-
nately, that's not happening. I see what this
is doing to the two of you—to the three of
us—and I'm sorry. Sorry I was greedy
enough to try to take what didn't belong to
me.

"While we were waiting for rescue, I came to
a decision. I'm going to tell the Company
that I'm giving up my claim on you. When
the next transport comes, I'll be on it. Maybe
the Company has another mining operation I
can transfer to. Either way, I'll be leaving."

Tears streamed down her face. How cruel
could fate be to give him back to her only to
lose him anyway? "Nardo, you don't have to
leave. Things will get better. Billy will come
around, you'll see. Please don't let me be the
cause of your leaving. You two love each oth-
er. There's got to be another way to fix this."

150/159

background image

"I wish to God there was, but I don't see any
other way. I realized how much I loved my
brother when I saw death heading our way.
He saved me, Cis. I owe it to him. After all I
did, he saved me when he could have let me
die. Problem solved. However, he didn't. In
his position, I don't know that I would have
been as generous. I promised myself that if
we made it out of this alive, I would do
whatever it took to make up for the pain I
caused."

She brought his hand up and laid her face in
it, shuddering under the force of her emo-
tions. "But ... I love you. You can't leave
now," she cried a bit desperately. Nardo
groaned inwardly as he pulled Cecily to him,
clutching her in his arms while kissing her
frantically. He'd waited forever to hear those
words from her, and now that he 77

had, his newly resurrected honor required
him to leave. Life was a fickle bitch.

"Don't go." Nardo and Cecily both jumped at
the sound of Billy's voice. Realizing that Billy
was awake, she rushed to his side and care-
fully wrapped her arms around him. Billy
clutched her to him tightly while never losing
eye contact with his brother.

"Nardo, you don't have to leave." Nardo
gazed at Cecily locked in Billy's arms. His
pain-filled eyes lifted to Billy's as he said,
"Yes, I do." Cecily backed away from Billy, as
he struggled to sit up. When she reached out
to help him, he brushed her hands away.
Billy kept his eyes glued to Nardo's. "No, you
don't. You're not the only one who realized
something down in the mine. If I hadn't
made it, if I had died down there, Cecily
would be alone right now. The work we do is

152/159

dangerous. Death is a constant threat. At
least, with you around, I know she has
someone who loves her as much as I do. It
may have taken a near death experience for
me to realize it, but Cecily has more than
enough love in her heart for both of us. It
doesn't have to be all or nothing, not when it
comes to love." Nardo needed to be sure.
Leaving would kill him, but he would do it if
that's what it took to make Billy happy.
"Billy, are you sure? 'Cause, I can leave. I
don't want you hurting any more."

Billy reassured him. "I'm sure. What about
you, Cecily? Do you want Nardo to leave?" he
asked, already knowing the answer.

Cecily reached out, taking one of Nardo's
hands and held out the other for Billy. When
he grabbed it, she spoke from her heart. "I
love both of you. I can't imagine my life
without either of you in it. Yes, it's going to
be difficult at times, but as long as we focus
on the love we have for each other, not the
problems, we'll be all right. Can you both do
that for me?" She looked at each one indi-
vidually, waiting for their agreement. When
they each responded in the affirmative, she
smiled and let the love she felt for them both
shine in her eyes. Placing their hands on her
stomach, she said, "Good, because I have
something to tell both of you."

Epilogue

Cecily lay tired on the birthing bed between
her two husbands. Though painless, child-
birth was still a lot of hard work, and she was
in no hurry to repeat the experience. She
leaned into Nardo's arms while they both
watched Billy bond with his new daughter.
She was glad the baby turned out to be his.
He deserved it and for once in his life, this
honor was his alone.

"Hey there, sweetling," Billy said. "You're so
beautiful. Yes, you are. Just like your mom."

Life was good. The men had done just as
they'd promised and now their marriage ran
smooth. Well, most of the time, it did, she
thought with a smile. They'd received word
that CJ

had found a bride and should be arriving on
the next transport. With his arrival, their

155/159

little family would be complete. While she
missed her parents, her world was right here
in this bed.

Nardo leaned down and whispered in her
ear. "The next one's mine."

Cecily groaned and shook her head. It was
