Model 90 Alpaca Silk

Woman’s Jacket

For Size 36 (Small) = left numbers
For Size 38/40 (Medium) = middle numbers
For Size 42 (Large) = right numbers
If there is only one number, it applies to all sizes.

Materials – Alpaca Silk from Austermann
80% Alpaca, 20% Silk, each ball = approx 100 m/ 50 g

450 g Color 20 rost (rust)

Knitting needles one pair each sizes 4,5 and 5 mm (US 7 and 8) from Schoeller + Stahl

Take time to check gauge! (Change needle size if necessary)
Rib Pat:
K1, P1 Rib with size 4,5 mm (US 7) needles

Basic Pat: (Gauge: 22 sts and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”) with 5 mm (US 8) needles

Rib-Cable Pat work foll Chart 1. Only the RS rows are shown. Work the WS rows as K
the knit sts and P the purl sts.
Work rows 1 – 4 once, then cont to rep rows 3 and 4.

Cable band: (Width: approx 7,5 cm/3”)
Work foll Chart 2. Only the RS rows are shown. Work the WS rows as K the knit sts and P the purl sts.
First rep rows 1 - 6, then rep rows 1 - 46 (the edge st is worked in the cable twist).

Full-Fashioned Single (Double) Decreases:
At RH side: 1 selvage st, K1, SKP – slip 1 st knitwise, K1, pass slip st over K1 (SK2P – slip 1 knitwise, K2tog, pass slip st over
K2tog).
At LH side: work to last 4 (5) sts, K2tog (K3tog), K1, 1 selvage st.

Instructions:
Back:
Cast on 92 (102/112) sts and work in Rib Pat for 3 cm/1 ¼”. Cont in Basic Pat foll Chart 1 as foll: beg with the sts before the rep,
work 10-st rep 8 (9/10) times, end with the sts after the rep. For the Armhole shaping, after 38 cm/15” from beg, work Full-
Fashioned Single Dec each side every 2nd row 9 (11/13) times = 74 (80/86) sts.
For the neck shaping, after 56 (57/58) cm/22 (22 ½ / 23)” from beg, bind off center 34 sts, and working both sides at once, bind
off from each neck edge 3 sts once and 2 sts once. After 58 (59/60) cm/23 (23 ¼ / 23 ½)” from beg, bind off rem 15 (18/21) sts
each side for shoulders.
Left Front:
Cast on 60 (65/70) sts and work 1

st

row on RS as foll: 1 selvage st, 39 (44/49) sts Rib Pat, 20 sts Cable foll Chart 2 (rep rows 1-

6 only). After 3 cm/1 ¼”, work in Basic Pat foll Chart 1 as foll: 1 selvage st, K2, work rep 3 (4/4) times, end at arrow A (B/A), P1,
cont 20 sts Chart 2 (rep rows 1-6 only).
After 28 (29/30) cm/11 (11 ½ / 12)” from beg, work the 7

row of Chart 2 and cont to rep rows 1-46, at the same time, work

P2tog next to the 20 sts of Chart 2 on next row and rrp this dec every 4th row next to the 20 sts 14 times more. Work armhole
shaping at RH side same as Back. After 58 (59/60) cm/23 (23 ¼ / 23 ½)” from beg, bind off 15 (18/21) sts at RH side for
shoulder, and over rem 21 sts work another 10 cm/4” in Cable pat. Then place sts on a holder.
Right Front Work to correspond to Left Front, reversing all shaping and placement of pats.
Sleeves:
Cast on 60 (64/68) sts and work in Rib Pat for 2 cm/3/4”. Cont in Basic Pat as foll: 1 selvage st, K 1 (3/5), work rep 5 times, end
at arrow A, K 1 (3/5), 1 selvage st. For the side shaping, inc 1 st each side every 4th row 4 times and every 2nd row once = 70
(74/78) sts. For the cap shaping, after 10 cm/4” from beg, bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then
work Full-Fashioned Single Dec each side every 2nd row 10 times and Double Dec 7 times. After 26 cm/10 ¼” from beg, bind
off rem 12 (16/20) sts.
Finishing:
Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams. Weave open sts of left and
right front tog. Sew sides of collar along back neck.
For the tie closure, cast on 7 sts and work in Rib Pat for approx 85 cm/33 ½”. Bind off sts in rib. Thread the ends through the 1

cable twist on each front (see photo).
