GIVING PERSONAL INFORMATION
1.HOW DO YOU LIKE SPENDING YOUR HOLIDAYS?
Holidays is mostly the only time when I can have fun with my family or friends and I
don’t have to worry about school, job, money and all this things that makes everybody
nervous. Because it is usually hot and sunny I choose to go at the seaside where I can spend
whole days on the beach. When I want to take a cool break from the hot sand and hot air I can
swim in the sea. Swimming in the sea gives me a lot of fun, especially when there is wind and
there are big waves. Some people like to sunbathe but I’m more active person and it seems
pretty boring to me. I prefer to be more active that’s why I visit the coast with a group of
friends. We stay in a hotel and play valley ball on the beach or when we want to chill down
we play games in the sea.
2 WHICH PLACES WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT?
The first and most exotic place to be is Palm Island, and there I would like to go. The
Island is ,as the name goes, shaped like a Palm, and this place is created by people. The one of
the most fabulous and luxurious places
on earth is also pretty expensive one that’s why
probably I will never get there. Next place which I would like to visit is Paris and the Eifel
Tower from which I could see the whole city. I would also like to see the expedition in the
famous museum there and see the performance in Mulin Rouge. The third place I would like
to visit is Monte Carlo not only for the hot climate, but mostly to see the Casino there and If I
were lucky, maby I could win some money? Beautiful beaches and warm blue sea is the
paradise I would like to see. If I could go there I would probably see some famous people
such as Tina Turner, Robby Wiliams, who have their houses here. It would be marvelous.
3. HOW DO YOU PREFER TO TRAVEL?
For me the best way to travel is a car. It is very convenient mean of transport because
it makes the world very small. The time of departure is up to me and I decide where to go,
when, and where to stop. The only thing that limits me is petrol and money, of course. But
there are situations when my car br
akes down. Then I choose to go by train, maby it isn’t the
most comfortable form of travel but still it has something in it. I like the sound of wheels on
tracks because it makes me more relaxed. When I travel by train I usually meet lot of different
people who always have exciting stories to tell. Sometimes I make friends in that way but
usually every passenger goes it his/her way. In the future, when I will work, I would like to go
abroad by plane. It has to be exciting experience watching the world below covered with
clouds.
4. IS THERE SOMETHING YOU WISH WAS DIFFERENT NOWADAYS?
Although I love my life in every aspect of it, there are few things I would like to
change in the world I am living. The first thing I would like to change is our behavior towards
others. We live side by side but we don’t have friends, relationships or even families any
more. What is important in our life is money, position, and we begin a rat race just after
graduating from universities. There is no time to meet friends, to have a partner, to visit and
spend some time with family, there is even not enough time to rest, because we have different
priorities than people in the past. Honestly I would like to have a job and some free time for
my hobbies and make a living. Nowadays it is impossible because your boss expects you to
work 10 hours a day or even more if you want to have a descent living, especially in such
countries as Poland. The next thing which could change is technological progress and heath
care. I would like to live in a very modern society with higher standards of life, where every
disease have a cure and people care about each other more than nowadays. I wish that I could
travel much easier and cheaper thanks to new technologies and do things quicker in order to
have more spare time to develop my abilities and skills.
5. DO YOU ENJOY LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGES?
In the contemporary world learning foreign languages has become both fashionable
and necessary. Personally, I like learning foreign languages because it is a must if you want to
be successful businessman. I learn to communicate with foreigners but also to know what
singers sing about, or to be able to make sightseeing visits to other countries. Also foreign
language, especially English gives more possibilities of having a job. What is more, on my
course I have possibility to learn professional English, so with vocabulary connected to my
chosen profession.
6. SHOULD EVERYONE LEARN A SECOND LANGUAGE?
I believe that everybody should learn a second language because learners have also
the chance to see how it differs from their mother tongue and can learn something new about
other cultures, customs, habits etc. In that way people who learn a second language gain
knowledge about other people in the world and when they visit this target country they are
able not only to communicate with foreigners but also know how to behave in certain
situations. Thanks to learning foreign languages we can communicate verbally, read, write
and we become more open-minded.
7. HOW OFTEN DO YOU GO TO THE CINEMA? WHAT KIND OF FILMS DO
YOU LIKE WATCHING?
I like watching films in the cinema very much. From time to time I go with my friends
to the cinema to watch new films on a big screen because it is nice way to spend the evening.
Horrors and comedies are my favourite types of movies. I like horrors because they are scary
and the ending is always surprising. This kind of film has a lot of action. Comedies are the
best way to spend some time with friends or family in nice atmosphere. I like American
comedies because they are light and funny and they make people laugh.
8. WHAT CAREER WOULD YOU LIKE TO PURSUE WHEN YOU FINISH
UNIVERSITY?
When I graduate from my University I would like to pursue a job according to my
profession. I would like to be a businessman and own a building company. I would like to do
business with somebody I could trust, for example with my friends from my University which
I know like the back of my hand. In my opinion reputation, good advertisements and location
are key words to gain success, there fore I would choose the place carefully and move to one
of the biggest cities in Poland, foe example Warsaw. I would like to build huge and
impressive skyscrapers or luxurious houses of famous and rich people. I will be an honest and
good boss and pay my employees as much as I can because I know how it is hard to work as a
normal worker.
9. DO YOU ENJOY SPENDING TIME AT HOME?
I enjoy spending my time at home very much. Perhaps it is because I don’t see my
family very often because now I live in a dormitory, and when I go to visit them we have
many topics to talk about. Usually when I step in to my home my mom serves me warm and
delicious dinner and I am treated as a guest. Everybody is so kind to me and ask me questions
about my studies and friends from Płock. The situation is a bit different when I spend my free
time in Płock in my room because there is nothing to do accept the things that I do every day.
Then I usually play on the computer listening to loud music or watch films with my
roommate. But it is not the same as spending time in my family town where the saying :
“home sweet home” makes sense…
10. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR ENTERTAINMENT?
Normally, I don’t have much time for my entertainment because I have a lot of duties
connected with school, job, traveling from one place to another, but when I have some spare
time I try to spend it with my friends going for a walk or playing with them outside the
dormitory. When the weather is sunny, we play football outside on the grass or plan a grill
party just to chat. But when the weather is pretty cold, I stay in my room watching film,
listening to music or playing on the computer. In the winter time I enjoy skating with my
friends because we have lot of fun together at the rink or making a snowball fight. We also go
together to a disco to have a nice time in good atmosphere, to dance and to joke all night long.
11. HOW OFTEN DO YOU GO TO PARTIES? DO YOU ENJOY THEM?
Party is always a good occasion for me to meet some friends and to talk and dance in
nice atmosphere. A good opportunity for a party can be not only a birthday, nameday but also
spontaneous events specially among students. Personally I love parties not only for friendly
people that surrounds me but also for the atmosphere itself of having free time and spending it
listening to club music. Usually I go to a party once a week but it is connected with my free
time limited by lessons, material which I have to cover and money of course! Here, in Plock I
can go out mostly at Wednesday because then majority of people go out and there is higher
possibility to meet friends and spend time together. Going to a party is also a good
opportunity to me to meet future boyfriend/girlfriend. When people are dressed up with
phantasy and share the same passion to one kind of music it is easier for me to talk to
somebody and there is higher possibility that we will have similar topics to discuss. I like
parties for their special atmosphere and I enjoy them as much as I can having the time of my
life on the dance floor.
12. DO YOU DO ANY SPORTS?
People are interested in different things: some of them like fishing, some collect
stamps. My hobby is sport. I like to work out on a gym. I do it every day, in regular time I
train different parts of my body. For each exercise I have 15 minutes so I know I wont feel
