Instrukcja dla ucznia

1. Sprawdź, czy test zawiera 12 stron. Ewentualny brak stron lub inne usterki zgłoś

Komisji.

2. Czytaj uważnie wszystkie zadania.
3. Pisz czytelnie i używaj tylko długopisu lub pióra z czarnym lub niebieskim

tuszem/atramentem. Nie używaj korektora.

4. Test, do którego przystępujesz, zawiera 7 zadań. Wśród nich są zadania zamknięte

i zadania otwarte.

5. W każdym zadaniu zamkniętym poprawna jest tylko jedna odpowiedź. Odpowiadającą

jej literę A, B, C, D lub A, B, C, D, E, F należy napisać w odpowiedniej rubryce.
Staraj  się  nie  popełniać błędów  przy  zaznaczaniu  odpowiedzi,  ale  jeśli  się  pomylisz,
błędne rozwiązanie skreśl i napisz inną odpowiedź.

6. W zadaniach otwartych (zadania 3, 4 i 5) starannie i czytelnie zapisz odpowiedzi

w miejscach wyznaczonych na karcie odpowiedzi. Pomyłki przekreślaj (nie stosuj
korektora).

7. Za każdą poprawnie udzieloną odpowiedź otrzymasz jeden lub pół punktu, a za

odpowiedzi błędne lub brak odpowiedzi – zero punktów.

8. Podczas trwania konkursu nie możesz korzystać ani z pomocy naukowych, ani

z podpowiedzi kolegów – narażasz ich i siebie na dyskwalifikację. Nie wolno Ci
również zwracać się z jakimikolwiek wątpliwościami do członków Komisji.

9. Do etapu wojewódzkiego zakwalifikują się uczniowie, którzy zdobędą minimum 40

punktów na 50 możliwych.

10. Na udzielenie odpowiedzi masz 75 minut.

Zadanie 1

Przeczytaj  uważnie  poniższy  tekst.  Na  podstawie  zawartych  w  nim  informacji  dobierz  do
pytań  litery  od  A  do  F,  które  określają  poszczególne  ogrody  zoologiczne.  Litery  mogą  się
powtarzać.  Przenieś  rozwiązania  na  kartę  odpowiedzi.  Za  każdą  poprawną odpowiedź
otrzymasz 0,5 punktu.

BRITISH ZOOS

A. EDINBURGH ZOO
Still  a  daily  event  (usually  at  about  1.30  p.m.)  is  the  penguin  parade,  started  in  the  1940s
when  a  keeper  accidentally  left  a  gate  open.  Penguins  take  a  pre-lunch  stroll  past  ranks  of
visitors. The penguin  pool  is  the world’s largest.  It  is  the only zoo in  Britain  to  breed blue
poison-arrow frogs. There are 53 species in the zoo’s captive breeding programmes. New this
summer is a family of tamarins.

B. PORT LYMPNE ZOO PARK
The centerpiece of this 300-acre wildlife park, the second of John Aspinall’s  ‘animal banks’
of endangered species, is a 2.5 mile zoo walk past many spacious enclosures for rare animals.
These  include  the  largest  breeding  herd  of  black  rhinos  in  the  UK.  A  new  gorilla  pavilion
houses part of Aspinall’s collection of lowland gorillas – the world’s largest. Other highlights
include snow leopards, Asian elephants, Malayan tapirs and Barbary lions, now extinct in the
wild.

C. WHIPSNADE ZOO
New  this  summer  is  a  cheetah  enclosure,  complete  with  false  rocks  on  which  the  animals
perch  to  view  the  visitors.  The  only  zoo  with  free-flying  macaws  and  other  unusual  birds,
including red-legged seriema.  The dwarf crocodiles, which were bred successfully last  year,
are in a new enclosure while their fast-growing babies are in the Discovery Centre. Three of
the five species of rhino are also here: black, white and Indian.

D. CHESTER ZOO
A famous feature is Chimp Island, surrounded by a water-filled moat and home to a group of
24  chimps.  Pursuing  its  plan  to  eventually  hold  only  animals  from  endangered  species,
Chester  has  acquired  a  pair  of  rare  Asiatic  lions  from  which  to  breed.  The  zoo  currently
breeds  scimitar-horned  oryx  for  reintroduction  into  the  wild.  Recent  births  include  a  chimp,
a camel and some sea lions. The zoo’s black rhino is about to give birth any time now.

E. JERSEY ZOO
New this summer at Gerald Durrell’s famous zoo is an island orang-utan enclosure. Recent
arrivals include 10-year-old gorilla Ya-Kwanza and a family of lemurs. Among the primates
free  in  the  trees  are  golden  lion  tamarins.  Jersey-bred  animals  of  this  kind  have  been
successfully reintroduced into the Brazilian forest. A baby bear is expected soon.

F. BELFAST ZOO
The  zoo  is  celebrating  its  60th  anniversary  with  a  £12  million  redevelopment  –  imaginative
landscaping gives more privacy to animals and birds. One of the zoo’s principles is to keep
a  small  number  of  species  –  only  50  mammals  –  but  in  larger  numbers  than  is  usual.  Star
features  include  an  award-winning  primate  enclosure,  elephant  house,  new  bird  house  and
underwater  viewing  facilities  for  penguins  and  sea  lions.  New  this  year  is  baby  gorilla
Djamba.
