Gearshift control, replacement
Note! When repairing the gearshift control, operations
Remove selector rod from the selector lever
onward,
and when repairing the selector rod, operations
Clean
and check parts
onward must be carried out.
Completely remove gearshift control
Remove selector rod from the selector lever
Treat components with rustproofing agent.
Remove the hinge bolt and remove the selector rod.
Note! Take care with the O rings and plastic bushes.
Completely remove selector lever
Push the protective cap out of the console.
Remove the securing bolts with rings.
Remove the gearshift control by twisting upwards
(90°).
Repairing the selector lever (extended)
Replace the selector lever support sealing rubber
Pull the entire housing down.
Push the rubber pins out of the support.
Push the rubber pins out of the housing and remove
the rubber.
Install the rubber in the housing and push the pins
through.
Lift the housing and push the rubber pins in.
Replace central bearings

Remove lower plate
Pull the rubber out from the selector plate.
Remove the rubber over the selector lever.
Remove the selector detents
Mark the position of the 5th gear selector detent.
Remove the bolts and remove the detents.
Remove the nut.
Remove the plate and spring.
Remove selector lever from the central housing
Remove the nut and fitted bolt.
Remove the housing.
Remove the selector lever.
Remove bearings from selector lever
Remove the plastic bush, the rubber and O ring.
Remove bearing from central housing
Remove the bolt and then the rubber bush.
Remove the central housing with bearing bush.

Remove the rubber bush.
Clean and check parts
Install bearings in central housing
Install the rubbers bush.
Position the bearing bush and central housing.
Install the rubbers bush.
Install the bolt and tighten to 74 Nm.
Install selector lever bearings
Install the O ring with the plastic bush.
Install the rubber bush.
Install selector lever in the central housing
Install the selector lever from above.
Position the selector housing (note the hole pattern).
Install the fitted bolt and nut and tighten to 22 Nm.
Note! Ensure the selector knob is in a good position.

Install spring
Position the spring and clamp onto selector housing.
Position the plate in the groove.
Install the nut and tighten to 29 Nm.
Install selector detent
Install the reverse selector detent and secure.
Tightening torque 12 Nm.
Install the 5th gear selector detent at the marking and
secure. Tightening moment 12 Nm.
Install the lower plate
Soap the rubber.
Pull the rubber over the selector lever.
Position the rubber and pin in place.

Completely install gearshift control
Completely install selector lever
Install the selector lever with a twisting movement
(broad side in).
Install the four bolts and tighten to 25 Nm.
Install the protective cap in the console.
Install selector rod on selector lever
Position the spacing bush, plastic bushes and O ring.
Engage first gear with the gear box selector lever.
Push the selector lever to the right slightly and check
whether it comes right in front of the selector rod
opening. Adjust if necessary, see
Check the
adjustment of the selector lever
.
Install the hinge bolt and tighten to 16 Nm.
Check the adjustment of the selector lever
Check
Put the selector lever in 1st gear.
The selector lever must lie just against the top
blocking on the right.
Adjust gearshift control
Loosen the bolt on the selector rod.
Check the projection length (approx. 8 mm).
Push the selector lever slightly to the right.
Install the selector rod bolt and tighten to 24 Nm.
Replace selector rod
Disconnect the selector rod from the gearbox
Treat components with rustproofing agent.
Remove the bolt.
Remove the rod laterally.
