I’m very fond of long walks, and at Christmas time
I love to spend some quiet reflective time in the
woods or fields near my home on the Pacific
northwest coast. The brisk late autumn air, the quiet
under the trees, and the peace and solitude are a
haven during the busiest time of the year. I usually
don’t see many birds on these winter walks, but one
little creature that seems to often share these winter
walks with me is the chickadee! It’s little black head,
bright eyes, and sweetly busy fluttering wings are
dear to my heart. This year’s ornament, derived
from the Heirloom Christmas Sampler, features a
little chickadee pearched on a pine bough, framed
with white lace and little pink or red roses! Merry
Christmas to you all! Thea
