2.11 Operation Notes
This section outlines all exceptions and defects known at the time of issue that are
considered to have a customer impact. A customer impacting exception is defined below:
• A defect or fault for which there is a valid and viable workaround but the lack of
awareness of the workaround could have safety implications or render the product
unusable.
• A temporary change in procedures is required to ‘workaround’ a defect or fault in order
to maintain a feature or function.
• Cosmetic problems which may mislead users and cause unnecessary alarm or which
are particularly distracting or annoying.
This section does not include:
• Anomalies observed during the System Integration phase of the release, which are
not reproducible.
• Defects that cause performance degradation, which cannot be detected by the user.
• Cosmetic defects that are not listed above.
GR1.2 CM5000 Software Release Note
m
• Defects that will only manifest as faults after two or more consecutive low probability
system faults have occurred.
Unless stated otherwise within the text of the exception/defect, a solution to each problem is
being sought by the development group.
Notes:
o
Upgrading radio’s to latest version
The structure of Programming data is different from that for old software versions.
By difference described above, “Native data error” occurs when you upgrade to latest SW
in CM5000.
To upgrade from the older versions correctly, following procedure is needed.
a) Option 1
1) Write GR1.2 software into CM5000. (“Native data error” will be displayed.)
2) By using “Programmer V1.0.11” with “BOOTLINK mode”, Read programming
parameters from the Radio.
3) Write them back again.
4) Confirm that CM5000 works correctly.
.
b) Option 2
1) Write GR1.2 software into CM5000. (“Native data error” will be displayed.)
2) Using Programmer V1.0.11, open existing TPF file.
3) After “Open successful” is displayed, write TPF to CM5000 with “BOOTLINK mode”.
4) Confirm that CM5000 works correctly.
To downgrade from GR1.2 to older versions, following procedure is needed.
1) Write GR1.1 or GR1.0 software into CM5000. (“Native data error” will be displayed.)
2) Using valid Programmer, open TPF file which has been made in advance by older
valid version of Native programmer.
3) After “Open successful” is displayed, write it to CM5000 with “BOOTLINK mode”.
4) Confirm that CM5000 works correctly.
The following section outlines brief Operation Notes for respectively TETRA terminal and
CPS.
2.11.1
TETRA Terminals
The GR1.2 software operation notes for TETRA terminals are the following:
• SCI Watch Tool V1.0R7
is required for correct analysis of signalling between
the CM5000 and System for this GR1.2 SW release
GR1.2 CM5000 Software Release Note

The known defects delivered with this software are the following:
• No known defects
2.11.2
CPS
The operation notes for using GR1.2 CPS with the CM5000 terminal are the following:
o
OTAR and GCK Encryption
The Setting “DM-SCK OTAR” becomes available when “TM-SCK OTAR” is set to
“Supported”
If setting item “DM-SCK OTAR” is set to “Supported”, Radio needs to receive DM-SCKs
from System by OTAR mechanism for DMO Encryption.
If setting item “DMO Encryption” is set to “ON” and DM-SCKs have not been received yet,
“Service Restricted” will be displayed when user tries to change DMO mode, Repeater
mode or Gateway mode.
Please note that the setting item “DM-SCK OTAR” should not be set to “ON”,
If System does not support DM-SCK OTAR function the CM5000 could not know whether
or not system supports this (no broadcast signal).
o
Type 2 handover
To employ type 2 cell re-selection procedure, background scan needs to be performed.
2.11.3
SciWatch
The operation notes for using V1.0R7 SciWatch with the CM5000 terminal are the following:
The following additions have been undertaken.
o
Analysis for new PID value (230) for Pre-defined SDS (Template)
o
Analysis for the following PDUs related to the LIP features
- Basic Location Parameter Request / Response
- Add/Modify trigger Request / Response
- Location Reporting Enable/Disable Request / Response
- Immediate Location Report Request
o

Report PDU.
o
Analysis for the following PDUs related to the “Gateway Encryption state on SwMI”.
- DM-GCONNECT PDU
- DM-GTX ACCEPT PDU
- DM-GPRE ACCEPT PDU
- DPRES-SYNC PDU
The following issues have been cured.
o
Analysis for “message reference elements” in SDS ACK PDU (DMO mode).
o
Analysis for “SDS-TL” element in SDS SHORT REPORT PDU (DMO mode).
